The Uhaul system sent me to this location, under the premise Of guaranteed availability. We had to pay 85.00 for transportation to this location. When we arrived the office was closed. The mobile check in was not working properly. I called and spoke to customer service, they said the lot was supposed to be open and, that multiple trucks should have been available. It took another 2hrs, to finally get through to a district manager who was able to connect with the property owners. We then had to wait another half hour for her and the Uhaul area manager to arrive. It was another 20mins or so before we were finally able to get on the road. The truck itself was in need of service. The headlight switch was broken and pushed through the dash, the passenger door window crank kept falling off, the tire pressure light was on, it had less than 3/4 tank of gas and the driveline sounded like a banshee screaming while in motion. So the entire experience was god awful, we were sent to the middle of nowhere and stranded for 3hrs before we finally got assistance. Then, they still charged me full price. 185.00 from Wilkesboro, NC to Columbia, SC. While I appreciate Teresa, the DM getting it resolved when she was finally aware, the entire experience was terrible.William R.

The owner/operator at this location runs multiple business, and may not be in the 1-man office. He was difficult to reach by phone. The transaction worked, with the exception of the return of a car-carrier, which I dropped off in the location where I picked it up, a field. I followed with a voice mail, advising the trailer had been returned. A couple of weeks later, U-Haul contacted me and asked when I would return the trailer. I advised them that I had, and the circumstances. This was all corrected; but did cause some anxiety. No harm / no foul; but, always leave written advice that you can reproduce, when returning equipment and no one is available to provide written confirmation.Richard B.

My reservation was for 8am. I got to the location at 7:45am to start the rental, I did not get the keys to the rental truck until after 10:15am as the employee of the location did not get there until 10:15am. I would really like a discount for this inconvenience as it set my schedule back 2.5 hours. The mobile reservation tool is not helpful at all. I turned the keys in before I completed the check out, my fault, but they needed pictures to complete the return, and of coarse the location had no one there to accept the keys or do the checkout with me. Overcharged for a four day rental when I only had the U-haul truck for less than 24 hours. Dropped it off just as instructed and left keys in the drop box he described. Dealer Mike Jones did a good job, but the UHaul corporate computer systems are a disaster. "to save time and money" I used the website to enter my reservation -- but had to do it 3 times since the application crashed 3+ times. It also took over an hour to check the trailer rental back into the dealer since the handheld device and website did not work, so had to leave dealer without checking the trailer in. The computer systems are a disaster, both on the front end for the reservation, and the backend of returning equipment. Further, from my last rental disaster computer reservation, I was issued a VIP Certificate, I entered it into the Reservation website for this rental, but when checking out, the Certificate # and Amount did not get passed through and thus the Certificate could not be used or deducted ! I've discussed this situation with 2 Area Field Managers (AFMs) but the computer systems, website, reservations, and check-in process are a disaster !William H.

The service at Wilkes Print Shop, that advertise u-haul the service was awful,the young girl wasn't friendly didn't know her job.I order a truck on February 4,2019 for February 15,2019,I didn't get a order form or anything to go on,so I left there not know if I had a truck,I call back on February 11,2019 it was true she didn't order anything for me.,the other lady said maybe I could try another location up the street. Then I ask her for the other location phone number she didn't know it,she said maybe you can goggle it.Very very bad customer service at this location. Being a single mother of 2 I don't have a truck. I called to see about a uhaul and the guy I spoke to was very helpful and gave me a quote over the phone in less than a min. I am going to Rent another truck in 2 weeks. Uhaul is the way to go. I could not believe how much cheaper it was to rent a uhaul truck and get it all out in one quick move. Beats several truck loads and filling gas for all my friends for helping... saved hundreds of dollars and tons of time!!!STACY F.

We had a new model GMC truck , it drove very well & got good gas mileage. I drove the truck 34 miles & it only took 3.74 gal to fill it up beck to the full mark as it was when I picked up the truck Thank you for a good moving experience. The way to get in and out is poor at best. And the way they figure the gas gauge is not right. I filled it to the right area according to the sheet they gave me, but they still insisted I owed them 11 dollars for gas. I was also disappointed when I arrived and the reservation I had for the truck was not ready. I reserved a 17 footer and they only had a 14 footer. While preparing the paperwork for the truck, the person showed up with the 17 footer. The owner asked if I would like to wait and I declined because I had a set time to be at my destination. That is what reservations are for. The bottom line is the truck was not ready and I asked for a discount for my inconvenience and I was denied. I also returned with the truck the same afternoon and there was a note on the door stating if you need assistance call this number. There was no answer. After waiting about five minutes, the door opened and they acted like it was no big deal. I have used U-Haul for many years and never had a bad experience until now.
