I found Nick at All Equipment Rentals, because I was completely screwed over by the staff at the corporate store on Virginia Street in Reno. I had a 12 pm pickup time and at 1 pm they cancelled my rental and trailer without even bothering to contact me. No where on the online "Guaranteed Reservation" was this policy communicated. The staff at U-Haul Virginia Street did nothing to help me. I contacted Nick on my own, and he agreed to stay a few minutes after closing to meet me. He saved my day!Alex W.
I had an appointment for 9:15am. I showed up at 9am. 1 other customer there when representative arrived. He told us that he had to wait for him to check in vehicles. Fine. Other customers arrived and rushed the door. A line suddenly formed with me at the back. I mentioned that I was here before these other customers. I left it at that. I got my truck at 9:55am. I love you fact that after hours and no personnel was there, that you can use the website to drop off the Truck and Auto transport and all you have to do drop off the key in the Dropbox and take pictures of what you are leaving. That's a great thing!anthony R.

First off, the people working there were acting like kids with a pressure washer out front and were spraying the back of the truck I was leaving with . They were very sarcastic in conversation while giving them our details to enter to the system . When I climbed in there were empty water bottles and wood chips everywhere inside the cabin and in the cargo space. I drove the truck a total of 8 miles round trip and the gas gauge didn't even budge but somehow I got charged $30 for 10 miles and a quarter tank (?) how is that even reasonable . After arriving to drop the vehicle back off there were people inside more concerned with their new camera operation then the customers standing in front of them. One guy sternly TOLD us to leave the keys on the ground and go, they'll get the keys when they have a minute . Very unprofessional , rude and price scammy location and people. I'll never go back to that place for anything ever again.Alfred C.

Rented an appliance dolly on 12/20, returned on 12/21. When I went to return it, was told by the rep he was busy and would check it in later. Against my better judgement, I trusted this would happen. Several days later received a call from U-haul corporate saying it hadn't been returned. Told her it had been returned and she said she would call the store and set it right. Never heard back. Then got an email on 12/30 stating u-haul has been trying to get ahold of me about the unreturned dolly. Tried calling the local store many times, no answer. Called the corporate number, talked to someone else who said they'd follow up. Didn't hear back from her, but finally someone from the Rock Blvd store followed up a day or two later, looked into it, and finally marked it as returned and finalized my return. All this over a $10 rental. Very disappointed in this experience and don't plan on using this location again.Andrew K.

Thank you for inquiring about my rental experience. I made my reservation on November 22nd, 2020. I reserved a 20' truck for December 19th at 10:00 am for 6 hours at the U-Haul moving & storage of Double Diamond of Reno, NV. The reservation number was 20883474. I scheduled movers to arrive at 11:00 am to assist. On December 18th at 9:53 pm, I received a text that stated my reserved equipment would not be available for me in 12 hours. I checked online, and my reservation had been moved to December 21st at 10:00 without my knowledge. I called, and I was told that a truck would be available approximately 4:00 pm on December19th. I explained that time would not work because I had planned for a 10:00 am pick up with movers assistance. I was offered another truck that was located approximately 30 plus miles from Reno. I explained that was additional mileage, time, and gas that I had allocated my funds for. I said that I was willing to accept if the cost was the same as my original reservation. I was told that I would need to speak to scheduling, and the representative supposedly sent in the order/request to scheduling. After discussion in my home and contact with the movers, I called back to see the possibility of moving the reservation to December 20th. The reservation was moved with the same pick up time, 10:00. The location changed. The new location was U-Haul at Oddie Blvd of Reno, NV. I arrived at Oddie Blvd at 10:00 am on December 20th, and I was told that the truck would not be available until 11:30 am. Again, I had to check with the movers for their availability. I was told to call around 11:30 am to confirm the truck's availability. I called at that time, and the representative said that they would call me back after calling the customer with the truck. I waited, and I called back. The manager, Miguel, sent me a text. The text said that they were having trouble covering my reservation, and he had a vehicle at another location, 465 S. Rock Blvd, Sparks, NV. I accepted this truck with great frustration and disbelief from the past day and a half. What is the point of setting a reservation? Miguel must have sensed my frustration with my reservation, and he offered a VIP Code which credit $50 back to my payment method. He told me to have the U-Haul representative at the 465 S. Rock Blvd location apply the code. The gentleman tried, and the code did not get accepted. He called his boss, and he told him that the code takes 24 hours to become valid. Since the 20th of December I have called about this code, and I have been told that managers and/or regional managers would contact me in regard to this amount back to my payment method. The last correspondence was an email from Amanda Brooks with reference number 2995647 which listed the same voucher that Miguel had sent me. I spoke to another representative over the phone, and I mentioned that I have storage unit. I was wondering if I could apply the code to my storage unit. He said â€œyes, the code could be used for any U-Haul transaction. The process could not be done online. The process would need to be in-person.â€ I called my storage location for verification, and I was told the code was only good for truck rentals. I am experiencing more frustration. I called back to your 800 number, and the representative explained that the code could only be applied to my next reservation because of the 24 hour restriction and my current reservation was already processed. The code could not be applied so I am not eligible for the credit to my payment method that Miguel had mentioned. Lastly, I asked if the code has an expiration date. Yes, one year. I do not self-move very often. I have had nothing but frustration with this reservation. Again, what is the point of setting a reservation? What is the point of good customer service?Robert P.

Was not my original selection for location. Relocated by UHaul due to equipment availability. A little further away but location was acceptable. Facility nothing spectacular but 26' truck needed was available. Check out was easy. A little longer on return, but all went well, and move completed successfully. The staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional. Demanded that i provide a LOCAL contact in order take posession of the vehicle, despite having a reservation. After informing him i did not have a local contact for which to share he became argumentative and then proceedes to assist the next person in line. After protesting for several minutes he finally consented to accepting a sibling who lives 2000 miles away. Upon returning the vehicle the office was unstaffed and opened, two hours prior to the scheduled closing. I and a fellow renter waited 20 minutes, not sure what to do. We finally decided to place the keys into the after-hours mailbox, which deposited the keys on the floor of the office hallway. With the door being unlocked we were both filled with trepidation. I more so because of the poors service i recieved that morning. I do not recommend this retailer AT All!!Christopher W.
The Rock Blvd location was great, friendly, honest. I first rented a van through the app and was given a reservation for a van at the Oddie Location. When I got there there were no vans and said there wouldn't be. The app should have told me this and not given me a confirmation number as if there was a van waiting on the lot for me.Kristen C.

U-Haul should invest in some customer service classes. I have never encountered such poor customer service from such a big company. This was by far a one of the most stressful experiences of my life, to have someone call me 30 minutes before picking up a 26 foot truck that the truck was no longer available and to call a 1-800 number. After visiting multiple u-haul locations and receiving the same lack of urgency and disrespectful customer service I will Never recommend or use your company ever again. You should be more sensitive and helpful to people that are trying to move from house to house which is already a stressful situation and it doesn't help when your staff has no people skills.Juan C.

My agent, whose name I am ashamed to say I don't recall, made the whole experience 110% awesome. He was personable, polite, and professional. Something that is lacking in most transactions these days, but he crushed it. He was the epitome of excellent service and I would not hesitate to recommend him or that location. I am very upset I showed up to pick up my truck and was told that my appointment was moved 5 miles away. No email the night before telling me that. So I go 5 miles out of my way for pick up and that location isn't open yet. I had to wait for 45 minutes. Simple communicate with the customer and the wasted time could have been avoided. I originally reserved my 15 ft. truck from the So. Virginia location. The night before pickup my reservation was cancelled online at 8 pm leaving me stranded. I was very very angry at your process. I have rented numerous times before and never had a problem. I called the next morning at 7 am and was sent to this location getting a smaller truck than I previously ordered but we made it work. This location was great! We returned the truck a day early and received a voicemail that it was supposed to be returned to another location on Oddie Blvd. This again was the dumbest procedure. I don't know what changes you have recently made to your system but it is horrible!! U-haul won't stay in business cancelling a reservation the day before a move like it is no big deal! Reserved a 26 foot truck 8 days before I needed and paid. Was called Friday and was told that I could not pick it up on Saturday and would have one at 9:00 Sunday. Arrived Sunday at 8:45 to pick up the 26 ft truck. After waiting 30 minutes to get my truck, I was told they didnt have a 26 foot. I had to settle for a 15 foot. Last time I use UHAUL!!!!daniel R.
While the store, vehicle and employee were fine, I can't recommend the online services. I did all the pre-registration. However, when I clicked on the "pick up my truck" button the web site had me doing it all again, and it is very difficult to photo your license while standing outside waiting in line (and I had already submitted it!). Then it said it needed more info and wanted a photo of my passport! I quit the site and the guy at the store was able to get me going. Then, 20 minutes AFTER I had driven away I get a text message to check the vehicle before leaving which of course I didn't get because I was driving.David M.

This is where I picked up the auto transport. The owner was great and very helpful. This does not accurately rate my Uhaul experience. Overall, once I received my equipment, everything went fine. Moving is stressful in itself. My experience with Uhaul added a million times more stress. I had to go to multiple locations to pick up my equipment. There was a bald tire in the auto transport, the drop-off location was changed to somewhere 25 miles from my house, and no one called the night before pick up as I was told would happen. I will say that the 5 hrs (in total) I was in the phone with Uhaul prior to equipment pick up was OK. Other than the first 2-hr call with hold times, everyone else was extremely helpful. I was also able to change my drop off crack to the original location just 6 miles from my house. The experience was stressful enough that next time I move I will look for alternatives before using Ihaul again.Samaara R.

The truck was dirty, inside and out. The inside smelled like piss and b.o., there was about a quarter inch of liquid in the passenger cup holder -have no idea what it was-and food crumbs everywhere else-i think were from fried chicken or something like that. The passenger window was down some so I can only imagine what it would have smelled like had it been rolled all the way up, which also tells me the smell was noticed but nobody gave a fuck enough to clean it up. The man working wasn't friendly but he wasn't mean. Although, that is understandable as well considering all the shit he must deal with working at that location. I wish I would have driven the extra mile down the road to the other uhaul and would never reccomend that location to anybody, friend or foe. Honestly, I believe I should have gotten a discount or some sort of reimbursement just for having to drive 200+ miles in that stench.Jessica T.
