Driving back to the location, the U-Haul died while driving down the freeway. I had to pull off to the side of the freeway and try to start it again. After two attempts I got it going but it now had the battery and engine light on. Worried that I would be stranded with the U-Haul I took it straight to the location instead of stopping for gas. I thought they’d be understanding because I was worried I wouldn’t even be able to get it back to them. I offered to still pay for the gas, I just asked to avoid the fee. I was then told that, that wasn’t going to happen. My option was to drive the U-Haul with the engine and battery light on to the gas station and risk it dying or pay a 5 dollar per gallon and an additional 30 dollar fee. I’ve spent enough money moving so I drove it to get gas. I think it’s ridiculous and dangerous to put someone in that sort of position. I’ll never go back to this location again and I’ll definitely avoid U-Haul in general. A little empathy and care for someone’s well being goes a long way you’d hope, but not there it seems

The guys working here made sure the hitch & ball part I bought from them was the correct drop size for my 4Runner. Also, they hooked up the trailer to my vehicle and tested the rear lights. Good guys overall. I really can't think of anything they could've done better to this rental. AAA+++!

The young man staffing the front desk was excellent. He worked quickly and didn't blink an eye when I changed my mind and traded up to a larger trailer. He said no problem at all and got me hooked up and on my way without having to go back into the office to redo the paperwork.

the process was very confusing. Although nice, the rep seemed really confused about charges. The pickup was to have 1/4 tank of fuel, but was actually on empty. I went back in to tell your rep & he had to call to find out what to do. I was told to put gas in above a 1/4 tank & he would work it out when I returned, which he did but I was uncomfortable not knowing what the truck would cost me. The truck was NOT clean inside but since I only had it for the afternoon, I guess that wasn't terrible, but I would expect that it would be clean.
