Really disappointed that even after 3 days, I still haven't been charged for the proper mileage but instead the â€œstandardâ€ amount of 50 kilometres. If this was notified to me in fine print it was very not obvious at the time of my checkout that I would be charged for more than I would actually need. Also, these emails went directly into my spam instead of my inbox because they came from a â€œNo Replyâ€ email, something which I would advise against if you actually want customers to view their receipts to begin with.Margaret Z.

Ordered a dolly and requested no insurance when booking online weeks in advance; 5:20pm night before 8:30 a.m. rental told no dolly; asked if we wanted insurance, said no (covered already); could have borrowed a dolly from friend with reasonable notice, but not possible with no notice; can upload screen grabs of checkin website "DOWN" when I was trying to get van; ultimately got charged for insurance even though said no when booking and no when owner contacted me to ask night before; total BS experience - had to enter a "remove insurance" comment when checking out ...never say never but not sure I would ever use uhaul again as was charged for insurance and had to check to make sure it was reversed/let me book a dolly but not available ... total c-f experience.George M.

Rental van had close to empty gas and I had to make multiple trips to get it to the same level, for the return. Passenger mirror had duct tape holding it up. I was not able to adjust it and keep it in place. I was basically unable to see on one side of the van- very dangerous. I realized this too late, as I was already on my way to my destination. I was charged more than the online quote. Based on the milage and time, I think I paid about 35$ more. Very confusing billing at the end. It does not explain the charges clearly. Rentals are parked in the back of a building. In a dirt and gravel road. On a positive note, the representative was very nice.CHARLESICHEONG L.

I was charged an after hours service fee when I returned the key at 4.30 p (well inside the 4 hour window I booked for) Key was placed in box as there was no one around to return the key to. The box clearly was not looked at until the next day. It would be good if there was counter service there so that these charges that basically double the cost aren't unilaterally and arbitrarily billed to the customer. Again really poor service and was basically ripped off because of it. I will not be using this location again.EDWARDBLACKALL L.

My van was dirty. There was a tissue on the floor, marks all over the inside of the doors and on top of the dash. This was dirt I cleaned myself, adding an extra task to my day. The sideview mirror on the passenger side was held on by duct tape and as a result was crooked.Ian L.

100% totally fine and smooth truck rental. Read some bad reviews and was a little nervous, however this place was way closer than others. Total seamless and easy rental. Will rent here again. Do the mobile pickup, no need to ever speak with anyone, they will text you the day of to confirm info and get emergency contact etc.JACOBTHOMAS S.

This was my 2nd UHaul experience. On the first one, they kept moving my pick up location farther and farther away until I cancelled it and had to rent a closer truck that was triple the price at the last minute. In this 2nd experience, the truck stalled the minute I left the parking lot. I got it going and had to let it heat up for about 5 minutes. Luckily I didn't have to go too far, but the engine sounded like it was gonna explode. So loud and a struggle to get it up to 40km/h. UHaul also forgot to include the dolly I had booked, so we had to lug a bunch of heavy stuff with out it. All in all, the experience was pretty sketch. Also, the online check-in where they have to call a reference before they will give you a key also feels super weird. They really make the customer feel like you're guilty until proven innocent. Will I rent again to save the money - maybe. But would I recommend it? No.Cameron M.
I was over charged and am still waiting for Uhaul to help with this exceptional scam this location has going. The fact the I wasn't aware there was link coming to me to verify the mileage that soon expired anyways was really unprofessional. Normally I would sign off on the mileage via a contract.THOMJ P.

We appreciated that our truck was there for us, however we didn't like finding out on our moving day that the extra equipment we had included in our order hadn't been provided. We had to scramble at the last minute to locate an alternative and that's not very good customer service - particularly during a pandemic.Brandon V.
Shortage of equipment made the rental inconvenient and meant having to travel to another location for pick up of equipment despite reserving online. No people skills whatsoever, he didn't want to answer any of my questions and I was being completely calm the entire time. A terrible experience overall. Fire the old man at this location. That would improve the experience, having quality people with excellent customer service skills. I told that old man (using two pairs of glasses to see) that his customer service was horrible and he told me there is the door you can leave. I told him I just needed to get the service I already booked online. I saw that the reviews were extremely low but I did not care as it was the closest store from my address. Biggest mistake because just dealing with that asshole for 5 mins can make any person's day a very bad one. Imagine for me that I was lifting furniture all day for days and then this idiot calls the police because according to him I was a danger for him. Just a young professional lady that is an expert in customer service, of course I'm not a danger for him. He is a danger to be in front of customers. He does nor have people skills and should never be working facing customers or people. Worst experience ever.Rocio G.

Dignity Auto Repairs (my preferred) is a block away from me. 374 Dupont Street was 2.9km away from me and I was angry that I was notified of the change the morning of. There was nobody at the office when I arrived. A man working on washing a car told me to leave the key on the counter and I could close the rental online. Nobody checked the truck for condition or cleanliness. I had added fuel to the start level before arriving at the office, but I was charged for a fuel charge. This location is not worthy of operating under the U-Haul banner, but it does not show a U-Haul sign anywhere on the site. We were not told that we had to fill up the gas tank and were charged a $30 dollar penalty fee which I find very sneaky and rude. According to google, this seems to happen a lot with U-Haul.Shona G.

1) The pick up time was changed 30 min. before I needed the van. That resulted in major issues for my time windows. 2) The van I rented was substituted for a track without telling me, again last minute. I had issues parking and driving in the city because of it. 3) The track consumed 12 dollars of gas, for just 10 miles. That is way too expensive. 4) Customer service was aweful, I was on the phone for 30 min and no answer.FRANCESCO P.
Employees were rude and attempted to communicate via hand signal instead of just asking questions. Before taking the p/u they required a call to the manager but did not explain why and expected use of personal device for this. Vehicle was given with minimal fuel in it, yet was expected to be returned with more. I at no point in my checkout process requested furniture pads yet can see on my check out and final invoice I was given these and charged for them. (I paid for the reservation but a friend was listed as primary driver and made p/u. Didn't know these shouldn't have been included) The check out requirements are ridicules. Calls to employers and family members, presenting your passport or providing lease agreements are all very over the top requests to rent a vehicle when you already have credit card and drivers license info.Shannon S.

the worst experience I had in truck rental. the truck was dirty with used masks inside, the attendant was terrible and very unfriendly. in my order there was a doly that was not in the truck. This was by far the worst experience renting a uhaul truck. The guy at the counter gave me no notice in advance that the location did not have any equipment (dolly, cart, blankets). He just erased them from my reservation without notice. I had to move a 2 bedroom apartment without a dolly. The costumer service was even worse. I called to let them know the situation and they did nothing, and offered no help. To conclude, the app was not working at the time of return. I have been charged $90+ for gas for a 16km trip. I expected a gas charge as I did not top up the tank before returning the vehicle, but this amount is unjustifiably high. Also I selected contactless/self-service pickup but was directed to an office when I arrived at the location.Mark V.

I got my van, and it was clean. The driver's side window did not work though. It rolled down but wouldn't come up. I noticed this after about 5km and when I told the pickup location, he told me to go to the Rexdale location. I went there, and had to unload the van, and then go, after waiting to get approval that it was ok to return the van back to my original location. The second van was ok at least. An hour wasted on a day I was already busy on. Anyhow, that's that. In the future, I would suggest you check your vans better prior to renting them out. There's no way I was the first to notice the window wouldn't close.Ohad K.

Uhaul was horrendous. We arrived at the location that was selected and were told that U-Haul changed our location. Uhaul changed our location to somewhere so outside of Toronto it would have been impossible for me to pick up the truck! Without sending an email stating the changed it!!!! So I almost didn't have a truck for moving day. Luckily the man at the counter said he had a truck but we would need to return it in 3 hours. It was the most stressful move of my life. I can only imagine if he didn't have the truck and then I wouldn't have been able to move out of my house at all! What the fuck guys. I would like a refund.Luke V.

The time requested for was based on booking of service elevator and the one that was confirmed was at the end of the booking - Service elevator was booked after booking the u haul! I was charged extra charges when I returned the truck during office hours. No one was there. I used the after hours key drop and online app. I was still charged the After Hours Service Fee. I was also charged for gas that wasn't accurate. (I have photos of the fuel gauge. The local dealer wouldn't help me and told me to call 1-800. Customer service was extremely rude and not helpful. I ordered a furniture dolly and a stand up dolly, both weren't at the pick up site. I had to waste time going to home depot to buy one to use. As a result we were late for our elevator time and had to pay more. If you are not going to provide the equipment it would be nice to know in advance not the day of. Also the return was horrible the app couldn't use location services to verify that I was at the drop off area. I had to use a friend's phone on an obscure browser for it to work.
