The person in charge of handling the uhaul stuff did not have keys to the lock box. I was forced to take a considerably larger truck that I was uncomfortable driving as well as costing me more per mile for the vehicle. When I arrived and they didn't have the keys I had to wait around for 20 minutes while they figured out what they were going to do to solve the issue. No one seemed apologetic about the situation either

Pay more attention to details and don't rent primeval vehicles. What has the customer requested and have you responded to those requests?; Is the vehicle safe, clean and well presented?; Is a staff person available to serve the customer? In just about every critical area of service and equipment quality, the BDS-Providence location came up short. The vehicle felt positively archaic--it rattled like a can of nails, had excessively vague, wobbly steering, and the engine/drive train strained and groaned (even when the van was empty). The truck actually felt dangerous on the highway--impossible to keep in lane, woefully under-powered (again, even when empty) and with poor brakes. I drove the vehicle only 16 miles in total during my 24-hour rental period. If I had been planning a trip of 25+ miles, it would have been returned immediately. An interstate journey or, heaven forbid, a cross-country move would doubtless have been suicide missions. The entire experience reminded me of my last trip to north Africa: anthropologically fascinating and educationally challenging, but not in the least bit safe. For $9, I could have ridden a roller coaster and been less emotionally and physically disheveled. Instead, for $90, I got chills and goosebumps from U-Haul---but certainly not in a good way. Oh, and the truck's interior was redolent of a high school gym's locker room. Perhaps some disinfectant or, at the very least, a new air freshener should be stocked at the depot. Next time I have to move something, I'll hire a mule cart.

there was a pending charge that was dropped but my bank will not release the funds until they get an email from u haul stating that the charge was dropped and I've contactedcustomer service but they said they can't do that. now I'm out $151.80. I would like this problem fixed please

The trailer I rented. The walls were filled with water. As I drove it (after sitting so long) The black moldy water inside the walls. Leaked from movement. Soaking and staining A 2 mo old Thempur pedic mattress. Upon return. The staff inspected This trailer was not road worthy

We are looking into possibly suing U-haul or this store. Our U-haul trailer FELL OFF on our ride back from picking it up since the store worker DIDN'T HOOK IR ON CORRECTLY. The Police Department's already has it documented and fully agrees it was never hooked up properly. Also the break light's were never hooked up either! My wife and 10-month old were in their car pulling the trailer when it happened and this U-haul place put their lives at risk! And other people on the road!! We've already got a $2,500 settlement check for the DAMAGE that happened from it to my wife's car. But we think we should at least be refunded the u-haul charges for what we went through! Also the worker should be fired and store dealt with so this doesn't happen to anyone else, could have been a lot worse and my family and lawyers will see to it if we are not at least refunded for our u-haul!!

i did not like that fact that the rental is false advertising. the rental is for 19.95 per day. but that's only to have it on your driveway and just to look at it since it's not really that price when you rent but rather miles are added. should have a flat rate for a van like 50 with miles included like car rentals. my 19.95 turned into 100 for 5 hours. false advertising

Not much to improve on with this U-Haul location. If I had to rent another U-Haul truck, this would be the first place I'd go. Nothing but excellent customer service, great people to help you out, and a clean reliable truck to use. THE BEST!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!

Appropriate behavior when from employees when picking up the truck. I asked one lady where to pick up the Uhaul and she said "oh no, not here, go down there" in a very rude manor. The employee who tried to help us was unfamiliar with the Uhaul website. Other employees stood around staring at us. It was uncomfortable

I was told I would be picking up a 26 ft. truck with 20 pads at 7:00 am in Scranton, PA. I ended up picking up a 26 ft. truck with only 10 pads in Duryea, PA. I was supposed to pick it up at 9:00 am which put me 2 hours behind schedule, but the guy never showed up until 9:30 so I didn't get going until after 10:00 am so I was 3 hours behind schedule. I had hired a driver for the truck so his time was wasted waiting around also. I'm not sure I would use U-Haul again after this experience. I was very upset.

The only thing I can say is with my initial order and giving CC online and the master code/confirmation code I got didn't seem to help and seemed useless. I talked to at least three different people before actually getting the truck and that original code I received in my email never came into play. Once I picked up the truck it was like just starting from scratch. With the exception that my truck I wanted was there. My card did get swiped more then I personally think was needed. I will be checking my banking just in case there was a mistake or double charge somehow. I don't think that will happen, but you never know. Bottom line is once I authorize my card to be charged, that should be it! Any more then one more time when people pick it up, chances are their 'experience points' will lean towards negative. Other then that, my experience with Uhaul was good.

I reserved a 20 ft truck. When I got there in the morning to pick it up, there were only two 17 ft trucks. I showed the manager the truck and we measured it at 17 ft. I took the 17 ft truck and the manager marked on the contract that it was a 17 ft truck. Lo and behold, I got charged for a 20 ft truck. Now what does a person have to do! You measure the truck with the manger, he notes it on the contract, and then you still get charged for the more expensive 20 ft truck. I guess banging my head off of the wall would have worked just as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hand truck in rough shape, furniture dolly bent, both dirty. Got 10 furniture blankets instead of 12, but only paid for 10 which was good, truck was in excellent shape with only 1700 miles.

Drop off took 45 minutes. His computer was slow. His demeanor was gruff. He tagged me for dents that couldn't possibly be mine. I rented the truck for 18 miles by the odometer, and he charged me 39 dollars for gas. And he was a gas station. If you are in a hurry and don't want to be ripped off, drop your truck off somewhere else!
