We had a rental set up for our usual location, but received a last-minute call that we would need to change locations due to "equipment need'.   The Location was a significant problem - not a safe environment. Would never let family go there again. The person taking care of us when we arrived was very nice and helpful. No problems. But there were some transients in the area. The problem was the drop off. The location is a parking lot only behind a commercial location. That night it was being used for what looked like a rave party. Drug use and displayed weapons created an unsafe environment. We dropped off the trailer, took pictures and tried to leave but were blocked by people from the party. Not a great experience. Worst of all, we found out that our regular U-Haul dealer had the trailer we needed and there was no reason to change our location. That left a really bitter taste that U-Haul made us change.

A location that’s not in an abandoned parking lot with a lockbox not on a broken down bus would be a better start.

Curtis made the entire process as easy as it could have possibly been. He had the trailer I rented ready and waiting when I arrived. He quickly hooked it up for me and checked me out. Returning it was a breeze as well. I’ll definitely be back next time I need a U-Haul.

First time using this location as a seasoned U-haul customer. The location provides uhaul equipment ( truck & trailers). BUT, there is no counter service or retail shop. Curtis , the Uhaul guy, meets you at the site if picking up a trailer. I rented a truck. So, everything was done on the App. The key is provided in a lock box. In my case, Curtis readily answered questions on his cell phone. Now, that I know how this location works, I will rent from here again as it is very close to where I live.

No proper signage. No building. No instructions. Not manned. I'd hate to do a drop off here in the dark. Then I was encouraged to use the app to do my own check in. They wanted so many photos that took ages to load. Again, as a woman I wouldn't want to be taking that long in that location messing about.

We were forced to use this location because our equipment was canceled at another location, without any warning of the change. We found this change to be quite disruptive, as we were unable to proceed with our move at the scheduled time. Beyond this inconvenience, we ended up having to pay for moving helpers for "empty" time. At our first location, we saw plenty of available equipment, but instead we were forced to head to a second location with just one truck. Huh? I ended up having more miles, too, because of the undesirable location. The pickup experience was absolutely brutal with this rental. Please improve the app/notification experience to avoid these costly and unexpected outcomes.

I made a reservation for a one way 10’ truck a week in advance and no truck was available at the location. I was offered to drive an hour to Bridgeport and then was forced to take a 20’ truck round trip. I was never contacted by U Haul to tell me that my reservation was a futile effort. Terrible and inexcusable customer service

The rental pick up location is in a parking lot with no one manning the space. Curtis, who runs the operation, was very nice and helpful, but it would have been more helpful if he was on site. Especially as the Haul apps TERRIBLE! We were warned that one can sometimes be popped out of the app during the process, we hardly entered our name before it encountered a problem and after 5 tries, it never worked. A nationwide company like Haul should have a better App, and this site should have someone to facilitate the rentals.

The drop off location at 33 mission st, stamford CT 06615 was terrible and there was a club going on, smoking, drinking, and my wife and I felt unsafe. People were drinking alcohol in open cups, getting into cars blasting music. It was hard to pull in because cars were blocking the road, looks like the parking lot is shared. There was a nice guy there that helped us park. This drop off was on a Saturday night. I was driving a size 15 truck, I don't think a truck bigger than me could have got in that night. This location needs to be reviewed or changed from a drop off.

I had a very positive experience at the U-Haul location on Mission Street in Stamford. Kurtis, the attendant at this location, is very friendly and was very helpful throughout the pickup process. In fact, Kurtis went above and beyond in his service. My father, who helped me move, dropped his identification during the process. Kurtis promptly reached out to us, after we had already left, to let us know that he found the identification and that he would keep it safe for us. He is truly a wonderful attendant and I am thrilled that we chose this particular location to pick up our truck. Thank you, Kurtis!

NEED TO EXPLAIN COSTS OF RENTAL PRIOR TO PICK-UP---I WAS CHARGED 16 DOLLARS FOR SAFE TOW FEE-AND 4 DOLLARS FOR RECOVERY FEE--I DID NOT ASK FOR THESE AND WAS NOT TOLD I HAD TO HAVE THEM--I WILL DISPUTE THESE FEES WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY-PLEASESUPPLY ME WITH A WRITTEN DOCUMENT REQUIRING THESE FEES--I WOULD NOT HAVE RENTED THE UNIT IF I KNEW THESE FEES APPLIED-
