The truck had food, dirty socks, an inch of dust in cab. The check engine light was on. I called to notify them at 4:45 but machine was on. I didn't leave a message because I needed the truck and wouldn't have had time to exchange for another. I then was charged with a cleaning fee. I called upset. They said that I dirtied the front of the truck. This was done by the people before me.STEPHEN D.

Let me change the drop off location online. I had to call a 800 number and wait for 45 minutes only to be told that the nearest place I can drop off was 27 miles away even though I already talked to a U-Haul dealer 6 miles away who said he could take it but the people on the phone would not let me do that. Not really any improvements I can think of. They were very nice and accommodating, even when I needed to change my pick up time at the last minute. Very safe location as well. I dropped after hours, and with the security cameras, an associate drove in as I was returning to make sure all was well. I would definitely recommend!PATRICIA S.

Everything worked out well, but I had requested a Dolley for $10 extra dollars, but did not receive one. It made my move quite a bit more difficult. I was told my account would be refunded but I haven't been refunded. Yet, .40 cents were quickly deducted from my account for gas that was apparently short in the tank when it was dropped off.HEATHER S.

I have rented from this location many times before without issue but yesterday I feel like I was taken advantage of. I needed a rental truck for a period of 6 hours for pick up and drop off at the same location. I even left my vehicle there. I was charged for the one way rental rate of 118.00 and not the 29.95 I thought I would be paying for. I was not made aware or told of this upcharge. Also I rented an appliance dolly, the sign on the dolly in the store said the rental rate was 10.00 and when I received my receipt I saw that I was charged 12.00. I was told to fill U-Haul to 3/4 full, which I did prior to dropping off. Level was slightly under 3/4, but I got charged for 3 gallons of gas (didn't need 3 gallons to go from slightly below 3/4 to full 3/4), where I had just put in 4 gallons and had the receipt!Ryan V.

Uhaul needs to have their online inventory better suited. I've rented more than once and every time online it shows the equipment available then I get a call from a rep saying it's not available. We had rented a 15 foot truck from the plainfield location. When we showed up, they were closed and did not answer calls. Luckily, we were able to get a hold of someone at the Brooklyn location. My pickup location was close to the person I was helping move to Willimantic. I figured if I picked up a truck there and left it where we were going it would cut down on mileage cost. Loading, unloading and the roughly 25 miles to get to our destination took roughly 3 hours and I was charged close to $150.00. That's a rip off!!! Left the location with no lights, person who hooked it up never checked anything went to drive it home to pack and had to have someone come out and replace the wiring so I could drive it legally. Uhaul was old and pretty rough shape. Driver's seat leaned down and to thte right making it quite uncomfortable. The cab was loud and the ride was rough. There was a newer one there, not sure whether he they gave me the old oMichael D.
I reserved a trailer for Saturday from Brooklyn motor,sports and received a voice mail from U Haul saying BMS didn't have a trailer and sent me to Columbia to get the trailer and when I got there they had no idea about the reservation for the trailer and told me that there wasn't a trailer reserved for me.I then called BMS and they said they had a trailer and would hold it for me. I don't know what happened with my reservation but I hold BMS in the highest regard and they deserve praise from U Haul for helping me with screw up and keeping me a happy and loyal customer of BMS and UHaul. thank you.Glenn N.

Inspections,rented a trailer on 9/17/20 for trip to Texas, had tire delamination on 9/ 19/20, wasted 2 an1/2 hrs waiting for service on problem that could have been avoided, tire should not have been on that trailer,3 good tires one bad, a trailer that was hard to control at times and unsafe, if I didn't catch bulge in tire who knows what would have happened, and after service call no one called to check on us, the bright spot in all of this was Dustin who got tire changed and got us on our way and inspected the rest of the trailer to make sure it was safe to travel, I believe I deserve a refund of trailer cost, I was afraid to let my son drive who could have helped with the 1700 mile drive, we will see if I hear from you because I was going to call and put in complaint, when people rent from you we expect a safe and maintained equipment, which was lacking here this goes beyond a simple tire issue, this is nobody gave a damnThomas D.

We rented a uhaul to move our daughter from Brooklyn Motor Sports in Brooklyn CT this past Sat. The rep asked her dad how many miles did we expect to go. He told them it's like 30 miles to her new place. 8 said, â€œno it's more like 45 miles each wayâ€. Mind you, we had rented uhaul for 3 days to move her. Representive put 8nto computer the lower mileage figure of 30 miles and made the mistake of putting it as only 30 miles total for 3 days. That is a rediculous number for 3 days as it's like 40+ miles each way to move her things and they moved for 3 days caus8ng us to go over the est mileage by 100's of miles. I used my debit card as my ex had cash on him and they won't taje cash. I'm now out over 90+ dollars I did not count on spending. Her dad ( my ex) gave us $140 for rental and gas. We ended up spending over 190.00 total because of the sales representatives mistake. I phone BMS and explained the error. They admitted he the rep misunderstood the mileage but won't reimburse us. I would never recommend this uhaul location to anyone. I've now been on hold with corporate for over 15 min to dispute our charges and complainKIM M.
