We scheduled a truck for pick up in advance but the day we arrived to pick up the truck they told us they didn’t have any trucks available.

The very days people have the time to set up rentals, move items, etc. And get the people at the Salem, OR location some help- they are doing a great job but need extra hands. I’d suggest you move this location, as it is on a dangerous curve and really hard to get out of..not to mention the tiny parking lot. Overall, the people were great, the location….sucks. Jo Williams

The online system that uhaul are trying to get going it's borderline impossible for people that do not have a smartphone or internet on your phone . So if you don't have a smartphone U-Haul might not be the way to go I'm sorry to put it so bluntly but that's just the way it is.

THE PLANT TENDERThe phone checkout process was a nightmare.. location services didn't work correctly. Then when I got it working it had me put it a contact to verify I was who I said i was. My contact missed the phone when I backed out to add a different contact it made me go through everything again. And if I minimized the app to get the phone number it would make me start over again.

They left my truck parked up on a concrete slab so I had to jump the curb to get the truck down. It’s not the biggest deal, I got it done and the truck did its job. But the curb thing was wild.

Neil YoungThe van I rented was great. I have used this site many times before and it has been great. This time it took me over an hour to check out the van due to the Share 24/7 program. All of my negatives are due to it. I don't know if it was the internet or what, but that was a major PIA to use. I kept getting timed out or knocked off the program. My phone was having problems focusing to take pictures of the odometer and gas gauge. Granted that is mostly likely due to the phone type I have but I didn't buy it for it's ability to take pictures Share 24/7 requires it and I had to try to make it work. I was told it I couldn't get it work, then I had to go to another site that had office staff available and try to find a van to rent. I would have to drive to another site?!? Not very convenient telling me that when I needed the van NOW and not very customer centered. Nothing was said about using Share 24/7 until I got email the a day or two before rental TELLING ME "Your reservation has been CHANGED to a U-Haul Truck Share 24/7® reservation." I didn't sign up for Share 24/7 and now that I know about it, I won't be renting anyplace where I have to use it again. After 20 minutes of trying to get the program to accept the photos, then I had trouble with the locks on the lock box to get the van key. I put in the code and the danged thing would not open. I had to call my husband, who had to come over with some WD-40 and fight to get it to finally open. THAT added another 30 minutes of wait time until he could get there. Fortunately, he was at home and we don't live far from the rental place. Otherwise I would have been stuck with no one to help. I did tell the person in the office on Monday about it. BUT the point is, after wasting an hour trying to get the van, I was late meeting people who were there to help me load it. I realize I might be only one of a few who had problems with this, but it wasn't a very pleasant experience. If I cannot find a site to rent UHaul without having to use the Share 24/7 feature, I won't be using UHaul any more. It was too annoying and I was the one who had to deal with the lock problem and the phone photos not being up to par with what the app required.

Andrew ShepardThe woman who seems to be the site manager, is a complete jerk. Between lying about what time her business is supposed to open on Mondays, to asking me "do you have a problem?" from the other side of the gated fence, rather than from the office, as then she'd have to open up. The hours on Google, through uhaul, and even on their own building, clearly state they open at 9. Attempting to inform her of this, she told me I was wrong, and that Google and uhaul are wrong too. She walked away, into the office, opened the door, continued to get in my face, telling me to just leave the key and she will check it in, assuming I fueled and swept the vehicle. Attempting to explain to her that the vehicle needed checked in before 10, and hearing that I was on the phone with uhaul, her attitude quickly changed to "OH I WOULDN'T DO THAT! I WOULDN'T!" She is very unprofessional and hesitated to give me her name, so I am sure it was not even her actual name. Beware renting or returning to this location.
