A front end alignment would be nice. The vehicle pulled to the left very bad and made driving on the highway extremely difficult. The windshield wipers also need changed. I had to pull over and let the windshield dry before I continued driving after trying to clean the windshieldAlan F.
I would say if you're looking for a u-haul rental place that doesn't show up on time, arrives 30 minutes late with no apologies and no greetings, and carrying a firearm to make you feel uncomfortable with their silent and angry demeanor, than this is the place for you. ðŸ‘Žjeffery S.

We in good faith replaced the gas as instructed by the employees that since it was 3/4 quarter full and to fill it back up to 3/4 quarter. We did but we're still penalized with a fuel charge. So the amount I ended up paying in total, I could have rented a truck elsewhere.Nancy L.

The bigger trailers need to have a hitch jack to help with connecting to the tow vechicle, the hitch on the 6x12 I rented I couldn't even begin picking it up must be a couple hundred pounds. Just a suggestionDavid Z.

This location was by far my worst UHaul experience! Their lack of knowledgeable employees and man power literally ruined my day and delayed some very important plans. If you have no experience or help with hitching the trailer yourself, do NOT rent from this location!SHONTIQUE B.

U Haul is well aware that they need to offer correct adaptor wires for connecting the tail lights to newer cars - it is total bullshit that we had to go to an auto parts store to purchase this - what if there wasn't a store near by? -We would not have been able to use the trailer that we needed! Dishonest and lacks total integrity! I returned my equipment on time and during working hours; however, I was charged a late turning fee. To add insult to injury, they added the most expensive insurance package without my consent. My bill charge increased by 150% for nothing. I called to correct it, and they corrected the bill (I spoke to Anthony). However, the credit was reversed in two days, and now I have to deal with this again. NO INTEGRITY!Guillermo M.

The truck was completely covered in ice and snow when we picked it up. It took us almost 30 minutes to clean the truck off before we could take it off the lot, not to mention having to walk across the road and to the far side of a parking lot in about 6 inches of unplowed snow. The truck should have been cleaned off and moved closer before we picked it up, since we had reservations. The person working there didn't even know which truck it was. She told us to "match up the number on the truck with the key number".Jenannie W.

U-Haul truck exhaust system was broken under cab. It was so loud in the cab, we couldn't talk with each other, when the truck was moving. Used the truck for less than 5 hours and had a hard time hearing until the next day. Got home after dropping truck off and was very tired. We might have inhaled exhausted fumes.Michael P.

I rented weeks ahead of time for the Chesterton location. I was messaged the day before that there was not a truck available there for me, yet when I drove by it was there. I was sent to another city 10 miles away. I had to ask for a discount for the inconvenience, the customer service Rep Alexis didn't seem to care that it was far out of my way and that I would endure the extra cost. I am very frustrated as it took an hour longer and I had movers lined up to help me. I am very disappointed. I have used your trucks many times before, and I expected to be treated better as a loyal customer.Erika B.
I arrived on time at 9am to pick up the truck. The door was locked, it was freezing out. I called the location twice between 9-915am as lights and sign were on and no one answered. Finally at around 915/920 the individual who was working came outside and reprimanded my mom and I for parking (yes we were parked diagonal covering a handicap spot for 2minutes with no customers in sight) but she had just pulled in to get me from standing in the freezing cold), said that he was gone going to the bathroom and offered no apology. I called with questions prior to my pick up day. The professionalism and clarity in communication is lacking from this location. This experience added to an already stressful move and left me disappointed. Have never had a uhaul experience this poor. very inadequate service. When disconnecting my car from the tow dolly the employee forgot to disconnect the chains and we jolted the daylights out of the car, trailer, and truck that was used for towing. It was a mess getting back onto the trailer and proceeding. I wasted 30 minutes after a long drive from Northern Michigan when all a fella wanted to do was get to suppertime!Mark M.

Actually would like a refund. I made a reservation on Friday for Sunday and went to pick up on Sunday and he said the truck I reserved on Friday wasn't available. Then told me to call corporate. I ended up renting a bigger truck that I did not even need. Not happy at all.Melissa M.
I was 30 minutes late and was charged an additional day. I would have been fine with a late charge, but not paying a full day plus Safe Tow. That was excessive and I will not do business with this location again. The two representatives were good. My only complaint is the excessive late charge. The truck was very rough when driving. Truck needs brakes. There was a leak in the roof of the truck in the attic section above the cab of the truck. A couple of boxes got very wet. Luckily there was no damage to goods inside of boxes. Staff working in office were professional.Howard M.

Anthony is very professional and helpful - goes above and beyond for his customers. Wonderful service. After horrible, rude service with incorrect information and being disconnected/hung up on by U-Haul customer service 800# , Anthony stepped in to make sure things were handled correctly and changed my mind regarding not using U-Haul for future moving needs. If my experience was based on corporate I would not use & would recommend not using U-Haul but based on service from Anthony at Castle Storage in Michigan City & the team in Helotes, TX U-Haul will continue to have my recommendation & future business.JAMISON H.

The person at the counter was helpful, but the rates are for 1 day which is 24 hours. I was extremely unhappy with the if you return it after hours then there is an additional $20 fee. I had the trailer less than 24 hours and was charged an extra $20. I ended up not even needing it. Because I ended up using the trailer because I got a storage unit somewhere else and didn't have to use it. The size of the uhaul trailer was disappointing. I was thinking it was going to be taller, and allow for for things to be packed in there. Overall I was disappointed with the trailer, and would not recommend Uhaul in the future because there are more fees associated with it than there should be. I believe the rates when I reserved it constitute false advertising since I was charged more than the rate quoted for 1 day (even though I had it less than 1 full day). If someone were going to rent a Uhaul I would recommend that location because of the professionalism from the employees.Todd B.

The truck was barely able to move. 153,000 miles on the odometer. The steering was noisy and difficult to control. The ramp wouldn't go back in after the truck was loaded. It took nearly 4 hours for a mechanic to arrive. He never saw such a problem before and took 2 hours to take the thing apart and finally correct the problem. Since I then had to drive at night I was appalled at the condition of the headlights. I actually pulled over to the side of the road to make sure they were on. They barely lighted the road. The dealer basically stole $20 from me days after return after not informing me of an "after hours" charge. Apparently Uhaul has to hide fees and slap them on unknowing customers to stay in business. Castle Storage steals your money to stay in business. Never go here.Michael C.
Everything was fine till I tried to return the truck. I tried for over an hour and was unable to check in the return. I went and got my wife . It took her one & half hours to check in the return. Drivers side lights were not working. Would be nice to have a tongue jack on the trailer, was a dual axle trailer very heavy to have to manually lift to place on receiver! You had a tongue jack on single axle car dolly right next to the 6x12 dual axle trailer I rented. Makes no sense!Daniel W.
