We came to rent a 20 foot truck for one day the rental was supposed to start at 1 pm. When we got to U-Haul the truck hadn’t come back yet we had to wait one hour then the men brought back the truck with no gas and full of broken sheet rock in the back So we said we would take a clean 10 foot truck We used it for less than 24 hours filled it with gas and drive less than 40 miles. They said they were giving us a 50 dollar credit for waiting almost 2 hours before we got the truck. We never saw an invoice. Now I see I was charged $120 dollars.

My truck wasn’t located where I was supposed to pick it up and I wasn’t even given warning and spent the morning running around to find it at some other location… the truck had no gas and was dirty.

The assistant at collette was rude and make me wait almost an hour to pick up my truck telling me that his store come first and not the pick of u-haul truck even tho I was next in line after another customer was picking up a truck too. But the assistant was more paying attention to a customer buying a table then me and constantly repeating that “ my store comes first”. Like he just let the customers went ahead of me in line and tell me to wait. In results I was late for everything. I moved to NYC and that make me really late and hit the traffic in the city. My movers didn’t had enough time to help me bring furniture upstairs because they were booked for another job so I had to do it myself and I hurt my back. Won’t recommend this location to anyone!

The u-Haul was very dirty, sand all over the van. The store worker once asked to sweep was very helpful. Overall process to pickup was great.

App has a lot of issues. Took at least 45 minutes to get through the “pick-up”. Timeout when trying to pickup. Had to go to counter inside. They had to do the process twice because of a “U-Haul changed your reservation” thing as we were in the middle of trying to do the reservation. The kicker is getting the notification that your rental still ends at the same time when your reserving for only 4 hours.

I arrived at 8am for a mobile pick-up. The app brought me to a blank white page. I called and a Uhaul representative told me that I had to wait for a representative from the pick up location (a furniture store) to arrive at 11am to get the keys. Tell me, what's the point of a mobile pick up if I have to wait 3 hours to meet a human to get keys?! When I finally met the human he told me that Uhaul never informed him that he had to leave the keys in the dropbox. Uhaul wasted 4 hours of my life for this BS. When I got the truck it hadn't been cleaned and Uhaul charged me the cleaning fee. Fuck you Uhaul you suck.

The location was fine, Ernie was terrific although the bill from uhaul was totally not the quote , which I had to turn around and get it straightened out? I’ve been told of a $50 credit will monitor for it! The bill included a hand truck but there was none as well as blankets, luckily a truck came back with several we grabbed, IDK, don’t want to gripe , moved to my new home state all went well except for these items just beware you might have to travel to another town to pick up the truck! Allow for the timel

Vehicle was new and in terrible condition. Tire was low on air. No wiper fluid. Interior filthy and smelled. Only a quarter tank of gas so has to get gas first thing. Terrible experience.

Everything overall was great but the cost was much higher than any other time I’ve ever rented. I’m figuring it’s a Hampton’s thing. $984 for a one way 2 day trip to Windham, NY is really not fair. You basically price gouged me for an additional $600. That really wasn’t fair. Joe

Put the right pick up address. Don't try to charge different amount than what I was quoted. Had to wait and extra hour & 15minutes to get it straightened out. Had no hand truck that we requested. 4 blankets and we requested 10.

I had opted for mobile-based access, instead the store attendant had no idea how to help, the uHaul representative she called could not help either, and after waiting for over an hour there was no key in either box and we had to fish it out of the dropoff box. I lost precious moment away from my kids on a Sunday to deal with a process that should have taken 5 minutes.

24/7 customer service is awful. You messed up my pickup time and refused to help me fix the issue. Thank goodness for the kind person at Colette, who was fantastic. Shame on U-haul for refusing to help customers in need. I give your customer service a zero. I will use Home Depot next time.

1) UHaul states this location opened at 11am. But the store where the UHaul desk is located wasn't to open til 12pm. Fortunately the store employee happened to show up for work at the store early that day but it was still 12:08pm before we had our key in hand! Really messed up our schedule. Crazy. 2) Check-out process was extreeeeeeeemely slow and problematic -- lots of system glitches, it seemed. 3) Van was unbelievably filthy inside -- totally full of ground debris and dirty. We had to sweep it out ourselves before we could load in our contents. 4) Van was missing the furniture pads we paid for. We sure could've used them; that's why we reserved them! 5) Change Oil Soon light was on the whole time. Who knows how long it'd been on before we got it.

I was over charged by a day. More an issue of the online service, not this location. Then when I called (dozens of times) to straighten out the charge, no service representative was EVER available to help me. Again this is an issue with the regional service not this specific location.

Reservation was moved from a different location to this one. This location was not prepared to fulfill my reservation. They did not have sufficient furniture pads, and they did not have the correct hand-cart dolly, they gave me an appliance dolly instead which was not helpful for me. This location also did not have the truck immediately available upon my reservation time of 11:00AM.

I did not get my truck at the requested location and when I had to drive 40 min for another truck , the hand truck and blankets ordered where not there. My move did not go well as a consequence. And I got charged for the extra miles due to be moved to a different location.

The location (54 Montauk) actually has no trucks. Going there and then being redirected to their other location in Bridgehampton (where the man took close to 30 minutes to check us in) added a full hour to what was otherwise a 3 hour move. I had 4 men waiting so the cost of the delay was not insignificant. And then they didn’t have some of the equipment I had ordered (aggravating because we could have gone to Home Depot the previous night). And then they had to check the truck to make sure it was presentable... so basically - they were completely unprepared. The folks at Colette offered one dollar off per mile as compensation - but we weren’t going far so the offer was meaningless. I’m sure they are nice people but it was a 3 out of 10 in terms of an experience
