I dropped off vehicle before business was open, so I had no interaction with anyone. So I'm wondering why I was assessed a $20 after hour fee when that's the date I was supposed to return the vehicle. It was dropped off at 8am, is it my fault that business was not open at that time?Russell E.

I made a reservation a month in advanceâ€¦ I got a call saying my pick up location changed. I went to pick up my truck to find out that they rented my truck to someone else.. they then gave me a damaged truck.. I returned my truck on time with the gas exactly where it was supposed to be and they still charged me 400 dollars because they never changed the rental contract number and the person that they gave my truck to kept the truck for 4 additional days and returned it to San Diegoâ€¦ never again!!Maisha G.

Ive taken two uhauls back to this location and both times I was charged for an extra day and extra gas even though the gas was at the appropriate level and the trucks were returned on time. I was surprised to see a store that was a combination coffee shop, gift shop and print shop all in one small space. I was even more surprised that they also rented U-hauls. But that wasn't the real issue, when we came to pick up, the person said they were on their way home, so we were lucky we got there just in time. Lucky? When we returned, the doors were locked and the lights were out. It didn't seem like a customer focused place like other U-haul places I have visited.JOE L.

I got there at 9:30 on Monday and myself and another renter were shocked and quite frustrated to find the location completely closed. On 7/31/2021 I arrived at the location at 8:44 AM for a 9AM reservation that was made on 7/24/2021. The owner of the shop arrived at 11:45 AM casual walking in saying â€œI wasn't going to come in today it's my birthday and I was in San Diegoâ€. I finally received my rental at 12:30 after being offered a bottle of water for my inconvenience. I missed my furniture pick up and this delayed costed me so much money.Donna W.

Your app is glitchy. I was unable to upload condition photos. My reservation was for 9am. The app would not let me start checking out the vehicle until 9am despite me getting there early as suggested. By the time I'd gone through the check out process and been validated it was 9.30am, yet the truck was still expected back at 1pm. This was frustrating.Martin H.
There was limited communication upon arrival. Someone didn't show up to open the office until 45 minutes after my scheduled pick up. I was not informed via phone call or message about the change of hours. I actually initially canceled the truck because I was tired of waiting around and my phone was dying. The new requirement of calling people to verify if they know you is rather tedious and could be done via email or text. I would recommend calling to confirm availability and hours before ordering from here as the schedule on the door is not the hours they keep.Marlene G.

Store was not open on time. I waited outside, and call uhaul, and checked in online. The lady finally arrived and gave me the keys. When moving, it's really important to stay on schedule. Truck also had low tire pressure. I will not rent from this location again.Jillian D.
This comment has nothing to do with the pick-up location - they were great and very helpful. However, we were completely dissatisfied with our UHaul experience. I had a reservation to pick up a truck at 9am on Monday - the reservation was made at least 3 weeks in advance. At 5pm on Saturday, after we FLEW to Los Angeles and packed up my son's apartment, we received a call that we would be unable to pick up a truck on Monday as there were no trucks available in the LA area! After a bit of a discussion, we were told that the current policy was that no out-of-area rentals were being allowed to start in the LA area. Why were we allowed to make a reservation then and why did we not find out about this until 36 hours prior to pickup? In addition, when speaking with one of the numerous agents I was in contact with trying to determine what solutions were available to me, when I requested more sizing information about the UBox option that was being offered to me (I needed to have confirmation that a 10ft. couch would fit), the agent HUNG UP ON ME! Admittedly, I was upset and I am sure she could tell, but I did not yell at her or scream or use profanity. I just expressed my frustration and disappointment with the situation. If customer service agents can't deal with frustrated customers, then they are probably in the wrong job! Somehow, we were told on Sunday afternoon that a truck was available for pick up as we had originally reserved. I have no idea how this was accomplished or what changed between Saturday and Sunday - I am just glad that we were able to get the truck we needed as planned. However, I am still dissatisfied with UHaul for the frustration that was caused.MICHAEL SCOTT G.

No one was even at this location to help me at all. Terrible communication. Incorrect amount of days outlined in my receipt, was charged for 4 days when I only had the uhaul for 1 day. Tried to call uhaul multiple times for help and literally not one uhaul number answered. Overall a poor and anxiety-producing experience. I would like someone to call me to correct these issues. She tried to blame another employee instead of taking responsibility herself. My reservation was for 10am pick up. I drove 2 hours from San Diego to Los Angeles and arrived at 9:45am. The location was not open. Nobody arrived at this location until 12pm. I was not notified. When I finally got helped I was told they didn't have a 1 way vehicle for me- only in town. My reservation was for 1 way. There was no apology for the delay.
