No one was around to help disconnect the uhaul

My trailer had screws, dirt/ debris and furniture pads in the back th st were used and filthy. I even went a step further and mopped the trailer 6 times before returning to prevent being scammed again. First. I travelled 3 hours to another state in order to pick this trailer up while also reserving a furniture dolly as stated in my reservation. Upon arrival. I was told a furniture dolly was unavailable. Also. I was initially denied service. After making a 3 hour drive and zero issues with my online reservation. I was asked to call a 1800# were I was informed of a previous balance of over 100$ for a trailer that was allegedly rented and not paid for. I have used uhaul on all of my rental needs for 20 years. I have always paid for the equiptment I use. I do not remember one time that I rented and I didn't pay for 100% of the rental before leaving the office while obtaining. I was told about my previous bill at a location that I know I wouldn't of used. I also went thru my emails were I have 100% of my Uhaul receipts delivered for my record. And I have nothing stating I rented this equiptment in 2019. And furthermore. I also noticed that I had a wallet stolen in 2019 and I had to have my id and complete wallet replaced. So if by chance the info wasn't entered correctly and accidentally put under my account. Then only 2 other options left. If in fact it was me that rented the equiptment. (Which is not something I remember nor do i have proof of) then I would of paid for my rental in full before I left Uhaul. In which case. An employee would of pocketed my money. Which makes sense if I have zero receipts or proof. It would be because a receipt wasn't provided in order to prevent an employee getting caught. One would think Uhaul would of attempted to call me in order to rectify the bill. Since it was done fraudulently . nobody actually reached out to me. The only other option is that my wallet an id were stolen/lost and was replaced. Did someone find it and utilize it to rent equipment and if so. Why wasn't it required to pay in full just as I have every last time I've ever rented from Uhaul? I feel I should be reimbursed for not only the 117$ charged for a previous balance as well as this past rental fee of 294$ as a courtesy in order to make up for the hardship Uhaul has put me in. Without compensation I have reached the point of not wanting to return to Uhaul for any further needs. There are a list of other competitors that i am able to contend with and not have to worry about being taken advantage of. *note* Please note: the location I picked up from as well as the location I dropped off at were both well respected individuals. I was treated with kindness and respect. My issue is with customer service , headquarters, the CEO or whomever it was that forced me to pay a bill that I feel 100% did not belong to me. Unfortunately. The reservation was already made and a 10 hour round trip to obtain items for my 10 children. (Yes, I am a father of 10 that struggles) was already set in stone. Unable to cancel. Being in a completely different state without the oppourtunity to have enough time to adequately obtain a new plan left me without a choice. I was told if I wanted the trailer I already reserved that I had to pay the balance on my account weather it was a legit charge that I acquired or not. Thank you so much Uhaul for taking food off my table. I havnt received a tax check in 2 years due to covid which led me to also not receive one stimulus check either. While being unemployed for most of last year . finally able to start getting on my feet again when all of a sudden I'm taken advantage of. Don't rent from this location. Even though I made an advance reservation, they didn't have the trailer I needed. Their run around cost me 2 hours of valuable travel time. Plus I had to pay extra for a bigger trailer that I didn't want.

Very thorough and efficient service from this location. They even called me the day before my pickup and verified my reservation and asked if I had any questions. Pickup was quick and easy. Also the Uhaul website and reservation process was easy and efficient. Price and ease of this rental was a great bargain!

Please remove the required step in the self-checkout app that checks if you are at the site you claim you are, it stubbornly refused to work and I'm fortunate that the site was open so I could rent the vehicle manually.

First location was Effingham motel service sucks there twice there been nothing but problems so I went to days inn Effingham got one the service was great there is never rent or recommend anyone do business w Effingham motel Effingham Il

We lost our engine of our vehicle roadside in Illinois due to the trailer we were pulling. Even though the website approved our vehicle to tow that size trailer. Nobody would help us so we had to drive a mile on a bad engine to another one of your locations, this one. Although the man, John was nice, he was of no help. Therefore, we had to rent a box truck, remove everything on the trailer and load the truck in order to get safely to our destination in Columbus Ohio. We are young women in our 20's left on the side of the road and nobody would help us or give us a break. In addition, this facility had no car tow dollies so we had to leave the vehicle behind 400 miles away. This is outrageous and having spent a total of $1,200 vs. the $485 we were to pay, we feel that UHAUL should credit our account for the additional expense including the $400 tow bill to get the vehicle to Ohio as the proper equipment was not available.

They didn't have an appliance dolly at this location even though it said one was available when I ordered it online. After picking up the truck at this location, I was instructed to go to another Uhaul location to get the appliance dolly. This location was a very sketchy motel and made me feel uncomfortable. Also, I am not experienced in driving large trucks or Uhauls but I felt like it was strange that every time I let off the gas or break that the RPMS would go high.

I only checked yes I would refer to a friend because everyone moves. Unfortunately, its a lot of trouble to rent a uhaul and NO ONE takes responsibility for anything. I laughed at the last person I spoke to and said let me guess.. Thats not part of your job. Funny how NO ONE at uhaul knows what is going on. I hope to never need uhaul again..

being I am a military veteran and a senior citizen I would have appreciated getting a discount for the rental of the Uhaul trailer but I did not get a discount for either.

My pick up location was changed making me drive further and making my trip longer. Why couldn't Uhaul just move the truck instead of me having to drive further and to top it off Uhaul wanted me to pay more money when I dropped off the truck, for extra mileage. There was no one at this pick up location and I had to wait for someone to come in to complete the transaction. I had reservations! So why did I have to wait for service?

I set up a reservation to pick up a trailer in effingham il at 4pm at the uhaul dealer on the east side and when i arrived at the motel the clerk new nothing about it as she said her son runs the computer for uhaul and would not be back for another hour. i went to thye uhaul dealer on the west side of the city DAYS INN and had towait for over an hour for the uhaul clerk to come in ... i will look at competitors first NET TIME and will never recommend to anyone to use UHAUL. robert rogers
