I was told that my U-Box would arrive on September 7th and that I could pick it up on September 8th. The U-Haul customer service associate (someone from the 1-800 line) did not tell me that it was a possibility that the U-Box would NOT be there on September 8th. My sister borrowed a truck from her friend to pick up the U-Box, we drove 110 miles (round trip) from Hutchinson, MN to Plymouth, MN and spent $20 on fuel and the U-Box was not at the U-Haul store. Customers should be informed to check before they leave to make sure their U-Box has arrived and has been processed. Also, it was not always possible to speak with a U-Haul employee at the actual location. My phone call was forwarded to the 1-800 number. I understand this is good customer service that a real person answers the phone, but I did not realize right away that I was not speaking with someone at the location in MN. Your General Manager, Fred Glunz Jr, and Assistant General Manager, Chase, at the Plymouth U-Haul location were both very professional and helpful with the situation of my U-Box not being at the facility when promised. They both made me feel like they were concerned and did what they could to assist me.

The clerk called me and asked me to return the 20 foot truck early. She said that she had another reservation at the time my truck was due back. I did as she asked and returned the truck early. Because I returned the truck early for their convenience, I should have received a credit on my bill. I did not receive a credit on my bill. Had I known that returning the truck early would not have affected my charges, I would not have returned it early. I had rushed to get it back. Overall, my rating would be a 4 out of 5 because of this. Thank you!

Excellent, friendly customer service.... U-haul truck had snow tires on which was great, for just a local move across town to new apartment in Wasilla. Only comment is buyer beware... local moves are advertised as 'cheap' rental, but you pay dearly for mileage.. I was able to rent a trailer and move from New York to Texas in 2 days since didn't pay for mileage with across country move...., cheaper than moving across town here in 2 days, due to local moves charging mileage when make several truck runs with stuff.... oh well, it is what it is..... and that is not the fault of the local store..... they are very nice & knowledgeable....

Maybe have the tank full of gas. Mine was at a quarter of a tank. Not a huge deal, but could have been smoother had I started with it full.

We were told we can bring the truck back with between 3/4 and 7/8 of gas, so we did and we're told we were going to be charged $7 for gas. So we said we would fill it up ourselves since the lady stated it was .5 miles down the road. I ended up driving a couple miles down the road to the gas station she suggested and ended up paying more than $7 for the gas plus the extra miles. She gave us wrong information and made us pay extra money. Will not be returning to uhaul.

It wasn't the locations fault, but the online reservation system needs to be accurate. It creates a mismanaged expectation and increases frustration. Online inventory should match available inventory.
