Guy had no idea what he was doing, place was disgusting. Took forever for him to figure out the computer. Guy could not speak English took 30mins before I was able to get the trailer. Awful awful place!

The Area Field Manager for this location is an abusive, uncooperative and vile man that creates serious problems that do not exist. He should be removed from the company, and criminally charged for his actions towards customers. Consider this a formal complaint, as all others mysteriously disappear in Uhaul’s system.

They put the wrong drop off location on contract, when I dropped at mentioned location, ( winterburn and stoneyplain road ) I had to pay surcharge fee, which I didnt after arguing with them for like 15 minutes..

Paschal GouldThe owner or whoever at Devon Domo didn’t inform me that there was no ramp, so after I had already drove to my house to pack the uhaul, I called him to ask if he had the ramp at the store and he couldn’t understand me on the phone and told me to drive back to the store with the truck, so I wasted more fuel to drive back and he informs me there is no ramp with the truck and says oh well about me having to drive back there. Not happy at all with that experience.

When returning the vehicle the elder person who served us was extremely rude. we were told we could hold the reservation with a credit card then pay with debit upon returning. He took it upon himself to to charge the credit card without our consents.

travis donnelyI had pre paid for my rental of a 5x8 enclosed trailer, as well as a utility dolly and 6 blankets. To be picked up in calmar. I got a call asking if i could pick up from devon. That was fine till i got there. When i arrived, the lady tried to charge me again. Then told me she didnt have a dolly for me and dirty blankets!!!! I was furious. So i declined the dirty blankets and asked for a refund.
Chantal TurgeonWindshield seal lifted and I needed to repair mid-trip. Location forgot moving pads, which required a second trip back. Vehicle has a check engine light come on mid-trip. Poor experience, that made the move harder, not easier.

There was a guy there that said he would help unhook the trailer as I have a bad back and he left after saying he would help me. The lady got a friend to help lift it off the truck. The trailer was extremely heavy to lift.

Was not happy,will travel to Edmonton in future.And dropping off the 6x12 cargo travel on a slanted icey hill and being told to use flimsy plastic bottle crate I wasn't comfortable with and voiced how unsafe it was,especially with colder weather.Invest in some wooden blocks,uhaul can afford it for their equipment.

And then the next day they took out another $48. That they had no right to take out because we already paid the entire total when we dropped off the uhaul truck.

Randy SchmidtWhen someone reserves a certain truck, make sure it's ready for them to pick up. An hour and 15 mins before I was supposed to pick up my truck, the place I'm supposed to pick it up at called me and told me the guy who had my truck wasn't giving it back until July 3rd. So he gives me a 1800 number to call. I ended up having to pick up a 15ft truck in Devon, I was moving from Wetaskiwin to Leduc. I ordered a 26ft truck. I had to make 2 rounds trips between Wetaskiwin and Leduc with the 15ft. While I was moving Uhaul called and told me the parking lot where I'm supposed to drop off the truck in Leduc is too full. So I had to take it back to Devon. This whole thing was extremely inconvenient. Yes the last at the 1800 number did her best to accommodate all the km's I needed.. I'm just upset I had to go through all that. Plus I had to pay the gas from Devon to Wetaskiwin and then from Leduc to Devon out of pocket when it wasn't my fault that I had to go to Devon in the first place. And this is not the only time Uhaul has done something to my move in the past. I will not be recommending Uhaul to anyone. And next time I move I will be hiring a moving company. Not Uhaul.
Katrina NevilleIt took almost an hour for the guy at the counter to complete the paperwork etc and the trailer was missing the cord which he couldn't find a spare for so I had to look for it and find it for him. He also didn't help check the lights etc so I had to ask someone walking past to help me. There was also sand in the unit so I had to sweep it out. Probably just one incompetent employee there though.

NORMAN STEVENSThe attendant took it upon himself to call Uhaul to verify he could waive the extra mileage charge because the truck had extra fuel pin return . The end result was highly satisfactory and he had no reason to do it other than customer service and satisfaction. It was appreciated.

Please make sure the distance is calculated correctly so that I do not need time to explain why the allowed mileage did not cover my travel and why I do not need to pay for extra miles, which is crazy that your company cannot do it well.
Qiang LiuHad to get truck in Edmonton. Nothing available in Fort McMurray and not taking reservations for a month as of May 16. Took several phone calls to book truck and get confirmation. Was nervous after reading all negative reviews but thankfully the truck was ready for me to pick up where they promised . The truck ran well. Was not spotless by any means. Windows pretty dirty and cab console and floor dirty but nothing overly horrible.

Judy DicksonI booked my uhaul rental truck on line the night before I needed it with no issues. When I arrived to pick up the truck at 9am the representative at the loction told me that the system was down and that I would be able to get the truck that day. I quickly called the contact number for uhaul and the gentleman i spoke with was more than happy to help me get it sorted out. He emailed me the contract and everything was fine.I went back to the location to pick up the truck after the gentleman on the phone said it would be all good and that I could just pick up the keys. When I arrived it was another quick phone call with the on site representative talking to the uhaul office and then it was out the door with the truck. I booked the truck to pick up at 9am and by the time I got the truck it was 10am. So not to bad, a little but of a hassle in the beginning but it ended up ok in the end. An hour delay really isn't bad especially when I 100% absolutely needes it that day. Would definitely reccomend to someone and will use again if needed. I can't say enough great things about the guy I talked to on the phone!!! I'm sorry i didn't catch his name.

Laila CraddockThe actual uhaul store fronts are fine and uhaul employees are actually trained and care as much as a worker can in customer service. However this particular experience I dealt with two contractors of uhaul both of which were horrible and very unprofessional. They were extremely rude. Were not willing to do walk arounds or check fuel or mileage even when requested. I was hung up on when trying to inquite about hours of operation and received no apology when I pointed out how rude that was. Business contractor obviously does not care about their contract with uhaul and likely sees dealing with its patrons as a nuisance. I was even threatened to not be able to receive my reserved vehicle after pointing out that hanging up on customers is rude. Now I am being charged for fuel refill from drop off location even though it was at where it was when I picked it up and again no walk around or double checking fuel and mileage with me. When I asked they said they could not do anything.

The person on the phone change my pick up date instead so there was no trailer in Edmonton at the time I was supposed to pick it up. Glad the customer care people found me a trailer in Devon. Shame on your staff member at the call center that changed my pick up date instead of my drop off date.

Then had to drive 500 Km to find one and pay mileage is terrible for business . Uhaul should reimburse me for the extra km that I had to travel instead of charging me for those km

Wasn’t trained had to be on the phone to be walked threw how to do anything. When I got the last piece of paper before leaving it was signed by someone else a couple days ago. When I returned the trailer they had trouble with the computer and it took another 1/2 hr to get my refund.
April RadcliffeThe truck that I rented had a ramp that didn't slide in so I had to put it on the top of my furniture and the truck only had about one eighth of a tank of fuel when I returned the truck I made sure that it had one quarter of a tank.

Ed AveresTruck had spilled coffee in it which I cleaned up + toiletry contents from the previous renter. I had utilized the express checkout online and the fellow at the location still proceeded to bill my card a full time again(additional 1481$) which maxed my credit card out. He was rude, swearing, frustrated with the systems and ended up storming out of the location leaving us there waiting completely unaware of what was happening. All the while there were other clients in the location waiting astounded by the customer's service or lack thereof that we received. We spent 1.5 hours at the location before we were able to leave with the uhaul and that is with having done the pre-paid online express checkout that states it reduces your in-store time and gets you on the road quicker. Also this uhaul had only 1/4 tank of fuel in it so we were forced to fuel up through this location before leaving. We were not notified until arrival that even though we ordered and paid for 2 dozen moving pads there were in actuality none there. By time we were done at this uhaul location the only place left for us at our pick up location to buy the necessities we needed was walmart. It cost us 20$ per comforter blanket which was used in place of moving pads.
Andrew OroszGas station attendant was late. This location was dirty and there wasn't the proper truck at the site. Had to take a smaller truck then I signed up for. The truck smelled like smoke. Everything about this rental was a negative experience.
Nolan RoeschI was charged for additional insurance when I declined it. The truck cab stunk really bad and it was rented for a one way haul and when I picked it up it only had 3/8 of a tank of gas. Not impressed. Also he didn’t assign a rerun lovation in Calgary so I had to scramble to find out where was open and who would take it.
tasha grassI was supposed to pick up my rental from a convenient location nearby, as I had booked online several weeks earlier, however two days before pick up I was informed that I would have to go to another location in the city. I was also informed that it wouldn’t be there at the time I booked it for. While these were inconvenient they foreshadowed what was to come. The day of pickup arrives, with my house packed and my family prepared to go pick up our truck to move to our new home I received a phone call from Uhaul. I was informed that they did not have my truck at the revised location. In fact there were no trucks in the size I ordered to be found at all in Edmonton. I was presented with “a free upgrade” to a much larger truck that I couldn’t park at my current or new home. I was then told that they could find a smaller truck (that as I packed the one I finally got would not fit all of our belongings) at a location in Legal or Devon. I was informed that my “case” was being moved up to a manager to see if they can work things around to try and satisfy my order which they had already had for weeks. The manager told me there was a smaller or bigger truck available for me in Legal or one that was the right size (finally) in Devon. (Unfortunately Uhaul doesn’t care about serving customers, so they will refuse to have your truck driven to your nearest location.) Not only was it mine, but they would discount me $50 (the same cost as their “guarantee” for not having the right truck available at the time of pickup) (side note, this $50 is bs. On your moving day you show up to pick up your truck that you ordered long in advance and they say sorry and give you $50. In the meantime your things are packed and the new tenants/owners are waiting to move their things in and all you can say is.... Uhaul screwed me.) Back to our move, so after considering the options we decided that we would indeed want to move that day and so I asked, what can you do to make this right? The answer was “we can cover the mileage from Devon back to your house.” Wow, thanks Uhaul for doing as little as possible! Anyway, on the way to Devon to pick up our truck (a 100 km trip at our expense, and the 50km of fuel that their “fuel-saving truck still costs an arm and a leg) and I make the regretful decision to call Uhaul again. I call to tell them that I felt their customer service was inadequate and to ask if there was anything they could do to make reparations for their mistakes. My agent Martina, told me should would be pleased if Uhaul had treated her the same way. I have more than a little trouble believing that, but I decided I’d give up and deal with the crap they put me through. I regret not asking for the transcript to our conversations as I would have love to post them for proof of their lacking customer service. I will do everything I can to never use Uhaul again, I’m definitely going to a competitor, whether Penske or Discount or perhaps befriending someone with a large flat
