My issue is not with the location as this location is not the one that was originally on the confirmation notice. My issue is with the reservation process. The printout I received stated an 8' pick up truck, a 6'x12' trailer, Collision Damage Waiver, Safe Tow and an appliance dolly for 8 hours. The next email confirmation I received stated the following: This is confirmation that the 15' Moving Van, 6' x 12' Van Trailer, and Appliance Dolly you reserved is scheduled and guaranteed to pickup at 3:30 PM on 07/30/2016 at MCCANNS SERVICE INC, 2010 1/2 KERPER BLVD, DUBUQUE, IA 52001. When I called McCanns they stated they did not have that equipment available or the pick up truck that I had reserved and directed me to call Uhaul directly. I called Uhaul and explained the issue. While I was listening to the person speak, I could no longer hear them. I checked to make sure my phone had not dropped the call and it had not. I waited through four minutes of silence and then hung up and called again. At this point the person had no idea what I was talking about and was unable to help me. While on the phone with them, a different person from a different Uhaul location (that shown above) called and stated she had a pick up, however did not have a trailer. I then called McCann's back and they had a trailer. Keep in mind for a truck, I am paying for the miles used AND need to refill the tank. In this situation I am driving more distance than is needed to go pick up the trailer, drop the trailer off and then bring the truck back. An already stressful situation (no matter how prepared you are for it, moving is stressful) has been made even more stressful due to 1 - the mix up with what was reserved 2 - the having to drive to multiple locations to pick up/drop off equipment 3 - the extra cost to having to drive to pick up/drop off equipment. Why all three items were not moved to one location is beyond me considering I reserved the items in advance and both places are in the same city. Now I have two separate billings as well. That seems like something that should have been sorted between the two companies, not something the customer should have to be worrying about. Both locations were very nice, polite and helpful. The wrong information was provided at the first location as we were told we could drop off all equipment there, including the trailer. At the second location we were told that was incorrect as they had someone coming to get the trailer the next morning. Very frustrating.
