I was unable to park my car there so i had to take the bus. The truck was sticky ,stinky, and very dirty. I asked how much the price was per mile/km and was told .79 but when i got my receipt it said 1.27! Not impressedLydia B.

It really wasn't the location that was the problem. The problem was the location was switched on me and then the electronic pick up was not established at the new location. So I had to wait for the location to open before I could even get the rental which really delayed my day.Bradley O.

I chose this location for drop off for convenience and the return process was anything but. When I booked this drop off location I confirmed I could return outside of store hours but was never given instructions of how to return or where to park or leave the key etc. There was no lockable drop box for the key at the back of the location and no instructions in its place to drop the key through the front door. All this said, when I returned the key during store hours the next day the attendant was lovely and friendly.Robert L.

Location wasn't open. Had to get a Uhaul representative to call the owner of the store. They were 10 minutes late. I asked for furniture dolly when I booked and the location didn't have one. So I was offered utility dolly. Would rent from the main Uhaul on marine drive next time.Chiara F.

Hi! Your survey asks â€œhow would you rate this location..â€. However, I do not have any other location as a point of reference, this was my first time renting a uhaul. Overall, the experience was good. I am new to Canada so knowing that I could rent a truck with such ease was definitely amazing to me. What can you improve? Being so new to this, I would have appreciated more guidance, on everything really. My first phone call to Uhaul was ok, but the person who helped me had an attitude which made me feel like I was a problem to him, but I am a client, and would have liked to feel like I am valuable to you. Once on the website, things were quite simlle and good. When picking up the truck, I would have also appreciated at least 1 minute of overall tips from the person who gave me the keys, or he could at least have asked â€œis this your first time renting a Uhaul?â€, and proceed to give me overall advice on how to operate it and how to drive in Vancouver. The truck was dirty on the inside when I opened it as well. Once I had the truck, everything was great. Actually, to bas I don't this person's name but he was working at the location on Davie st., since about 1pm and he was still there at around 4 pm. This person was amazing. I'm sorry, but I have uhaul many times, while there have been snags, it's always been worked out. This time was the worst experience ever! The truck was supposed to be picked up at 10:00, only to discover that the store attendant could not find the keys for nearly an hour. They were later found in the garbage can. There was no gas in the truck, and the vehicle was not in good condition. We paid $200 to have our elevator locked off from the place we were moving, so that delay cost us another $200. This is completely unacceptable service and I do expect a refund of some kind or I go to social media. And what is with all the advertising saying $29! I paid 3-1/2 times that. Sorry, this needs resolution. I hate to sound harsh, but it was the most stressful day! Feel free to call me.Ricardo P.

When we arrived at this location to pickup our van, there was a line 2 customers long, and on a cold day we had to wait outside - this seemed acceptable given that COVID rates were rising and perhaps the person working the desk didn't want too many people inside at one time. When we did get inside after a 30 min wait for 2 customers in front of us we found that the gentleman working the desk wasn't wearing a mask at all. As well, there were essentially no boxes left for purchase and when they got re-stocked, they were not Uhaul boxes and were significantly marked up ($7 for a small box)Shawn L.

I received the truck, and the back was completely covered in melted snow. All my boxes were soggy and dirty. Tires were not winter tires, so I spent a lot of time (and gas) trying to get unstuck out of basic places. Could barely get out of the pick up parking lot. The dolly I had requested was not there - the previous loaner extended the rental of it by a few days. I was given no prior warning nor an alternative. When asked about what options I had I was told to go to Home Depot to rent one from there. The van was different from what I was shown online. Overall, I feel like U-Haul pulled a fast one on me and I have zero recourse.Santiago S.

I am charged twice for the rental. I waited 30 mins for the office to open and at checkout no body came to check the car and close the invoice. Later in the afternoon I was charged much more than what I should have been. Each facility should be checked in front of the customer to avoid these abuses!!!Mahyar S.

The integrity is the most important thing ,I wake surprisingly that I have been charged than the expected amount ,after a long phone call call for the inquiry ,she insisted that was the correct amount ,which is not possible 55 bucks for just 2 hours with 6 km ,at the end she told me that I broth the truck in the morning which is not ,I get it back in the same day,finally my dispute been accepted and I get refund back ,the thing is no even apology for wt happened ,I don't have time to deal this stuff ,I wish if the service will get improve with more integrity ,and I think it will be the last time to rent from you guys .ASAR M.
Guy that was working was super annoyed with me right of the start. I made a reservation online and took a 15 dollar coverage. When i came to the store he asked me about coverege and i said yes. After i returned a truck the same person gave me the recipt and i saw that he double charged me for coveragr that i already paid, so the total amount was 30$ instad of 15$. I tried to talk with him and get a refund but he didn't help me at all and told me that i need to call the U-Haul. Bad experience overall, expected some help from the staff but didn't got any. I had reserved a truck for 6:00-10pm yesterday and didn't know that I had to pick it up exactly at 6 - it didn't warn me anywhere that the location would be closing at 6:30 and I wouldn't be able to pick it up after that point. When I talked to customer service yesterday they said I would not be charged until I pick it up but today I noticed a $50 charge on my card, and when I asked them about it when I was renting a different van there today, they said it was a cancellation fee even though I did everything I could to try to get a truck last night after I realized what had happened. I just not show up, they closed half an hour into my 4 hour reservation time. Then they told me "but we waited here until 7 for you." I had called them at 6:45 multiple times after I realized the had just closed to see if I could still come and pick the truck up. No one answered. Also if they were waiting for me until 7, how would I know that without them calling me and telling me? Anyways I didn't find it to be a very good experience. Also they left a dolly in the back that was not secured and slammed to the front and back every time we went up and down a hill - we didn't ask for a dolly and I know they charge to rent one so it shouldn't have even been back there. Also the back of the truck sort of smelled like urine...Allan E.

Even when this company falls short on communication or faults with misinformation it's a set-up to fail for the customer. They have no trouble supplying the least while charging your credit card the most. Little you can do than watch as they charge 3 times the estimate for a half day rental.David H.

The pick up location was fine. However the process I went through in order to get a truck was a nightmare, and caused me so much stress while moving. This is one of the most disorganized companies I have ever seen. My pick up location and time changed twice, was confirmed both times, and then I called to double check and they told me a completely different location, an hour drive from where I needed it and 8 hours after I needed it. And when I get to the pick up location, there isn't a truck for me. They have nothing and don't even have my name in their system, even though I have multiple confirmation texts and emails for this location specifically, with no email or call telling me that it was changed or cancelled. The representative then booked me a truck for the next morning, and me being paranoid because of the way I had been treated by this company the days prior, I called to double check that there would be a truck there (i have confirmation emails for this as well) I was told that that specific location doesn't deal with trucks at all, only vans. I was then transferred to a scheduling manager who was apathetic at best, was offering me no solutions and telling me there was nothing available. She then told me she would transfer me to my local scheduling manager (Vancouver). I was transferred to Langley, then Victoria, then SOUTHERN ALBERTA. This company is a joke and a mess. Finally I got a truck booked for a local pick up location, I called immediately and made the representative guarantee that it would actually be there this time. And luckily it was, but 2 of my bookings were cancelled without my consent and without notice. I am extremely unhappy and deserve compensation for the stress you people have caused me.SEANA I.

Unfortunately they only had a handheld device which limited the amount of information on our rental agreement. My copy had 400+ kms and she only showed 285 which caused her to want to add kms on to this one way rental. Then the truck ran poorly on the highway and barely made it to the return location. The vehicle would not start after it was shut off. I asked for an additional 2 hours to be added to my time due to mechanical failure. The person helping me, added an additional 12hrs to my rental and I was charged for it. I don't think I should have to pay for that. It was a mechanical and I should not be charged for that.Paul K.
