The location was fine, The truck was fine. The fact that I had booked the truck 11 weeks ahead of time and then got a call the day before saying that the only truck available was 25 miles away and that I had to both pick it up there, and return it there, adding more than 50 miles to the total was NOT okay. The website had apparently overbooked, but here's the thing--with11 weeks notice, why was it not possible to make sure a truck was available in my location or at least not wait until the day before to let me know that I would have to drive an additional 100 miles? The pickup location was fine; corporate/website UHaul was NOT.Dean J.

Will be calling corporate. I have been over charged as well. Horrible service. Guy was at home asleep when we showed up for our pick up and talked to us over the SPEAKER phone in the middle of the convenient store. We could barely understand him.Randall C.
Not this locations fault but I was supposed to pick up the vehicle from Chester, Virginia. The pick up location was changed twice and Blackstone was over an hour and a half from my residence. I went over on mileage because of this and had to pay an additional fee.Evan S.

The spring bolt holding the passenger side ramp was missing. This was not discovered until after driving away. A customer solution was needed to keep the ramp from coming out while driving. If this had been found after a car was attached, it would have caused damage to the vehicle. A checklist for all pieces might be helpful moving forward.William S.

Better communication of initial reservation changes! I reserved the truck to pick up at one location but when I called to confirm 3 days before pick up I was told the truck would not be available there and I would have to drive about 50 miles round trip OUT OF MY WAY to pick it up. U-Haul's plan was to contact me the DAY BEFORE I needed the truck to tell me that. That is POOR customer service. Luckily I was able to change the location of the pick up to another town that was not too far out of my travel zone since I took the initiative to call in advance to verify the truck would be available where I requested. I strongly suggest improving your process to communicate any changes to their reservation request EARLIER IN THE PROCESS. The person that helped me at the pick up location was very accommodating and provided very good customer service.Wanda L.

Was told that my reservation was a 24/7 truck share and that I could get my truck keys anytime. Showed up Christmas Day night and it was in fact not a 24/7 truck share and that I had to be handed the keys from the clerk and of course it being Christmas the store was closed. Drove an hour round trip on Christmas for nothing. Then I was told the store opens at 7 am the next day and I could get my keys then. I show up at 6:50 am and the store did not open until 7:50 am which I was then able to obtain my keys. This is the 3rd time I have used UHUAL and it will most certainly be my last. All 3 times using uhual there have been complications and changes which make a stressful day moving even more complex and stressful. Will certainly look elsewhere for my rental and moving needs for the future.Jared B.
As a regular customer that rents the same type of trailer from the same location for local 2 day use, it is not as easy as you would expect. Regional keeps changing locations and prices without notice. At least send email of the changes? Sometime we have to drive over an hour to pick up and return a local use tralier. We always give plenty of noitce so the equipment can be available where we rent from, Always some sort of issue. Maybe we need to take our business somewhere else?Ray A.

Overall it was a good experience renting from this location, but I was late returning my equipment by 45 minutes because of traffic. I tried to telephone to communicate this info. I was charged for an extra day's rental. The rental agent was not available when I returned my equipment. Not happy about that.King B.

I requested a drop-off at Schodt & Sons 5797 E Colonial Trail Hwy, Crewe, VA. When we tried to drop it off they refused and sent us to Blackstone If they were not accepting more trailers there should be something in the U-Haul system where my requested drop-off was not accepted and I knew it was going to be changed to blackstoneAmber K.
