The truck smelled like marijuana, it was filthy inside and out, it was not there when we were told it would be there. My husband had to buy new windshield washers for the truck as it was impossible to drive it in the rain. There was no cruise control in the truck either. To improve we would have liked a clean and maintained vehicle. We had no choice but to take the truck as we were in desperate need for the vehicle.

Y’all representatives are liars they say one thing over the phone and lie when u get in person y’all prices are ridiculous and to high I will never rent U-Haul again the representative at the location is a good liar

The locations are fine. Uhaul and moving help, make the app useful, make hold times shorter for customer service and stop begging for reviews (if you don't know what I mean call uhaul or moving help and you'll understand) and don't recommend movers. You're terrible at it.

This was the worst U-Haul rental experience I have ever had. I arrived at the pick-up location and the letter sequence to access the keys in the back of the truck had not been given to me. When I logged into my online account, the "pick up my truck" option was still grayed out. Because the online portal said that could mean I arrived too early, I waited approximately 25 minutes, and the option was still grayed out. After calling the pick-up location multiple times and being told that "the issue would be investigated" and "expect a call back within 10-15 minutes", I failed to receive a callback. The pick-up location employees did not return the phone calls, and I did not receive the letter sequence to access the keys to the U-Haul. Finally, I spoke with one of the pick-up location employees who told me I would have to call the U-Haul company directly. Thankfully, the lady I spoke with from the U-Haul 1-800 number was polite and patient. She apologized to me and said my order had not been pushed through properly. After she fixed this issue, I was able to select the "pick up my truck" option and continue the process. Unfortunately, two hours passed before I was able to resolve the problem and access the truck. I was supposed to pick it up at 18:00 and could not until 20:00. Ultimately, this delayed my move from Metairie, LA to Baton Rouge, LA and cost me the help I lined up to enable my move.

Rental drop off was more difficult than actually renting the equipment. The drop off location was dark and not enough parking for drop off of uhaul trucks. I was told that the truck would be parked in a locked gate, it wasn't. A dolley was rented and had to be placed in the front of the cab. A picture was taken to show that the equipment was there in the event someone broke the window and stole it. It would have made more sense to have the truck dropped off at the other uhaul location on Tulane that seemed to have parking specifically for the trucks.

After my first experience with UHaul, I would not recommend This moving company to anyone and would not use it again. Absolutely horrible service and extreme lack of communication. A week ago, I booked A 10 ft Uhaul from 7:30am -12:30 pm today. I found out this morning when I arrived at the original pick up location (Broad Warehouse Furniture) on time to find out I would not be able to get the truck since the business was not open yet. I found this out when I was dropped off at the business and had to call the service number for the truck and was told that the company was supposed to notify me of their hours of operations and that I would not be able to pick up at my requested time due to the difference. I did not receive a call or voicemail beforehand. After hearing this and having to adjust my schedule last minute, I returned when the business was supposed to open (9:30am per google maps) and it was not open until 30 minutes later. Finally after opening, I was told that the facility did not have a vehicle on sight for me. I was then directed to go to a new pick up location 2 miles away at my own expense to pick up a different truck- this time the only one available was 5ft longer in size than I reserved a week prior AND more expensive due to this upsize. I was also notified on sight (rather than at online signup) that I would need two “insurance references” that I had to call from the office phone at the location. This should have been communicated clearly beforehand. Well, that took an additional 60 minutes because my references hesitated to answer an unfamiliar, unplanned phone call from an out of state number. This entire process was more expensive and 4.5 hours longer than anticipated due to a failure to appropriately communicate by Uhaul and their partners (broad warehouse furniture). Again, I am very disappointed with this service and as f now, I would advise my friends to use a different moving company.
