When we had booked the reservation, no one told us that it will be self remote pick up. On the second day we tried to open the lock with the code that was given to us, it would not open. We tried to call UHAUL for about 55 minutes and we were being pawned off from one call to another. We would like a refund for one day, as it was returned early by one day as there was no support from UHAUL.Rajiv P.

I had a problem while using your app that was entirely my fault. When it asked me to identify the truck I didn't read fully where to look for the numbers and I looked at the license plate. When I clicked on the â€œunable to locate equipmentâ€ button I was unable to get help at the location but I couldn't go back in the app and reread the instructions where I would've found that it was not the license plate number but it was the number at the top of the truck. If I could've gone back to reread the instructions it would've made it easierMatthew L.

I'm used to walking into a U-Haul store and being able to shop for supplies (boxes, tape, etc.) but not here. It's like a back alley garage but the guy was super nice and very helpful and I was able to move from one apartment to another but went over my rental time and wasn't harassed into returning the truck.Susan M.

It should be more clear that the additional contact is going to be contacting by uhaul and needs to answer their phone to verify identity. All it says is to provide an additional contact, so I assumed that was in case of emergency. It made the pick up process a lot slower than expected.Amy B.

REQUESTED AND PAID FOR AN APPLIANCE DOLLY TO BE IN CARGO VAN. THERE WAS NO DOLLY. IT WAS A SUNDAY, SO THE PLACE WAS CLOSED AND NO ONE WAS THERE TO HELP US RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. WE SPENT 45 MINUTES IN THE PARKING LOT GETTING THROUGH TO A REP AT U-HAUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE LADY WAS VERY HELPFUL AND ADVISED THAT, IF WE DROVE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION IN TORRANCE, THAT WE COULD GET A DOLLY FROM THEM. IT TOOK US 15 MINUTES OUT OF THE WAY (EACH WAY) TO GET THE DOLLY, BUT WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE IT. MIND YOU, WE RESERVED THE VAN FOR THREE HOURS KNOWING WE WOULD GET THE JOB DONE IN THAT AMOUNT OF TIME. WE ARE NOW DOWN TO TWO HOURS BECAUSE OF THE DOLLY SITUATION. I GET A TET MESSAGE, 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE VAN WAS "SCHEDULED" TO BE BACK ADVISING THAT WE HAD TO HAVE THE VAN BACK BY THAT TIME BECAUSE ANOTHER FAMILY WAS SCHEDULED TO USE IT. I CALLED THE GUY BACK AND SAID THAT UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO OUR ORDER NOT BEING COMPLETE WHEN WE PICKED UP THE VAN, IT WOULD PROBABLY BE AN HOUR LATER THAN WE ESTIMATED. NO APOLOGY FOR OUR TROUBLES, NO PROMISE TO TAKE THE DOLLY OFF OF OUR BILL, OR GUARANTEE THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE EXTRA MILES WE WENT OUT OF OUR WAY TO GET IT, JUST AN EXPLANATION ABOUT HOW THIS CREATES A PROBLEM FOR HIM. WE FINISHED OUR JOB AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, ALL THE WHILE RECEIVING TEXTS ASKING WHAT OUR "ETA" WAS GOING TO BE. WHEN WE RETURNED THE VAN, HE SAID THAT HE WOULD "TAKE CARE OF RETURNING THE DOLY FOR US." AS IF WE WERE EVEN CONSIDERING GOING OUT OF OUR WAY AGAIN. THEN HE EXPLAINED HOW PISSED OFF THE GUY THAT RUNS THE PLACE WAS FOR US RETURNING THE VAN LATE, THAT HE WANTED TO CHARGE US FOR ANOTHER DAY! I HAD TO EXPLAIN THAT THE LATENESS WAS MOST CERTAINLY 100% THEIR FAULT AND THEN HAD TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR THE DOLLY, THE VAN, ALL OF THE EXTRA MILES UNNECESSARY MILES, AND $20 IN GAS.Emily H.
The UHaul website for self-service check out was very user unfriendly and it took us 90 minutes to complete this process!!! Frustrating beyond belief!!! Will use UHaul again but NOT the self-service part of the rental.erik B.

This policy of contacting â€œreferencesâ€ when you get to the truck you are supposed is a poor practice. I was dropped off at the truck, which I rented online the night before, and expected to do an inspection and hit the road. Instead I was stuck in an ally in the cold waiting for someone to call references. I have a wife and mother who both could have be stuck in the same situation. This is my second UHaul rental in a month. This location was far superior to the other. Super clean truck. Self-checkout was flawless. Let me park in the lot (should be a given). Would highly recommend Steve's location to others. I actually drove extra miles to go there and was not disappointed.Robert S.

The "after hours" service did not work. The app that I was told to use didn't work. The Uhaul website didn't work to take our reservation. I called the manager of the location 3 times on Friday over the course of 3 hours to figure out what to do, and on the day of the rental I called 3 different numbers to get help. Finally a gentleman helped me "register" and then I could open the safe and get keys. I spent 45 minutes on the lot trying the app and making phone calls before I finally drove off the lotlynn N.

Owner had to leave early, he did contact me to tell me I could pick the truck up anytime. Web site would not let me complete, had to call customer service which took almost an hour to complete in the parking lot with all my family. I had to call the owner connect him with the agent on the phone to get it completed. Never got a contract wither the terms and conditions. We then were 1 hour behind to go to the storage which closed in 3 hours. I'm so disappointed in the experience. First time and last.inez H.

Don't take advantage of a young woman who's excited to move into her first apartment and tell her it's perfectly fine to return the truck at "any location" and then, only after given personal information, tell her it's actually not accurate and she'd be forced to pay extra to take it BACK 70 miles away. That may help a little ;) terrible "Self Check in" experience. Terrible customer service experience. Wouldn't recommend this location OR business in general to Any of my friends currently about to move. Sorry.Kyarra E.
His lot is small. Only holds 2 or 3 trucks at a time. I was ready to return truck in the morning, but was told not to return truck until 4:30 pm because of lack of spaces to park truck. I held on to truck and incurred additional cost. Then the owner overly inspected and complained that the truck had to be cleaned and needed additional gas. I filled the truck to the right amount before returning, but was required to leave to fill the truck again or be charged additional $8 or $9. I left to drive the truck 3 blocks for $5 worth of gas. I thought owner was really petty. I heard him say, "If the truck is not clean, then I have clean it." I did not pick it up in Tucson, perfectly clean.linda C.

I ordered my van on uhaul.com and was quoted a price based on .69/mile and $19.99/day for a noon pick-up time. Business was closed at scheduled pick up time: Noon. I called Steve at the number posted on his door at his Uhaul site, and he offered me a free day if I would stick with them and agree to take the van at 5pm. I agreed to pick it up there at the close of business time in exchange for a free comp day rather than taking my business elsewhere. When I returned to the site, Steve wasn't there, but a kid with an Google Chrome book and iPhone was onsite filling in for Steve, who was on vacation I guess. The kid said he didn't have my original order and requested that I re-submit my request for the van. I did so, not realizing that the mileage rate was off by .10/mile. Instead of .69/mile, I was now being charged .79/mile....not noticing the discrepancy until after I received my final statement/bill. Not only was I overcharged on mileage, but I was charged for 2 days rather than 1, charged 2 bucks for an environmental fee when the fee on uhual.com is quoted as 1 buck, and charged 5 bucks for cleaning when the van was returned in the condition in which I found it. I will NOT recommend this location to anyone and I will NOT be using Uhaul.com again.Desiree W.

Would have liked a sign or posted information on how to contact dealer if drop off was closed; it was by happenstance that I had the same cellphone he used notify me of vehicle ready; may not always be the case. Would have preferred the advertised Torrance Postal Annex location for pick up and drop off.James C.
