My experience has been absolute Horror. Please beware and avoid this location. I lost so much money renting a truck from this location. I started my process online. I reserved a truck for my daughters 1 year party. I request to use this truck only for a day. Pick up time 7am to 12pm the same day. Online the reservation took and I was left with the impression with what I requested for, was what I will be getting, upon picking up the truck. Wrong. The place was not open at 7am. I had to wait till 9am for someone to open the gate. This was a junk yard, so assumedly dirty. When picking up the car, the process was normal in that, she took my information compared it to the reservation information, after everything checked out. she handed me the keys and that was it. There was absolutely NO walk around the vehicle to see if there was any prior damages....there was not verification/ confirmation that both parties see and understand how much gas was left in the truck. When I told the attendant I will be dropping off the car at 12pm. She told me I couldn't, that I had to bring it back during the hours that someone was there....9 am ( that's already another day charge). Upon driving off I noticed the gas was near empty. I assumed they knew this already and continued with my journey. Returning the truck. The attendant check the gas gauge, took the keys and instructed that the receipt will be emailed to me, without telling me the price. I told her I at leadt would like to know how much everything came up too, I was not expecting the price she gave e, because I didnt drive far with the truck. I was exhausted from the night before, from hosting a party, so if slipped my mind to ask certain question. After a couple of days and i looked at the receipt I noticed they charged me $78 dollars in gas fees. I called the place and explained how I picked up the truck and how being charged for gas was a mistake. as I filled it to the level I picked up the truck. The attendant gave me the run around and asked to call back when there is a manager present. I did exactly what she said, and called the very next day at 9 am. When I called they same lady, tried to act like a different person and said the manager is not in. They have been no help of offering a refund. I am currently in the process of speaking to customer service and hope my issue can be resolved...I am leaving this review to WARN other consumers of this place.LATWANAAUNDREE S.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. THEY ARE SUBCONTRACTORS OF UHAUL AND THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIFIC. They do NOT Inform customers of the rental mileage rate which is $1.79 per mile vs all other actual UHAUL locations which are .99 per mile. They also charged my card $131.14 without my knowledge the day of my rental not even knowing what my actual cost would be or the mileage I would've used. Upon return my actual cost was $99. This prevented me from conducting other business with my account. The service lady at the location was very rude and u knowledgeable of how to work the computer and relay the proper info. She had the manager on the phone the entire time walking her through the steps. When i asked for the phone number to the location she kept saying she did not know it. She said the manager would call me the next business day in which he did not. I knew he wouldn't call and she was just saying that to get to the next customer. When i asked why my card was charged so much money over the actual amount she replied, "thats how we do and you have to wait 5 business days to receive the change amonut". I will never return to this location again. It was a HORRIBLE experience which cost me way more than it should have been. The location is in an actual Junkyard off Merrick n Montauk. This location and management is a very poor representation of a reputable company such as UHaul. The 1st receptionist for pick up was rude. She was turning us away saying was no truck for rental. The location looks like a true junkyard. Disgusting. Oncebthe owner arrived with a truck it put us behind schedule. Then we get a few blocks away and the ENGINE lightbcomes on. We had to go back for him to check it and shut it off. When we are finally on the highway I receive a text to return the trick in 6 hours. After I received text I called endlessly to call him back to no avail. Mailbox was full and I did not get a call back. Worst experience EVER! Will never go there again.MARISHKAS P.

The service was horrendous. I made a prior reservation and when I got to the location I had to redo the entire reservation with no explanation. None of the additional items I previously selected ie. dolly was available. The manager had a very nasty attitude. When I returned the vehicle, the manager didn't inspect or give me a receipt. NO stars!!! Dirty and hazardous truck. Recommend to NEVER USE him. This U-Haul representative was HORRIBLE!!!Â He doesn't know what service is, FORGET about using any words like customer or good. He is lazy, a liar, and a crook. He lied saying he sent me an email and text for the transaction. He had no supplies and lied saying he sent my reservation information to the Linden boul evard location (Representative there said he received no information) so I could get supplies there. The truck he gave me had garbage in it (he kicked it out with his foot toward us), BOTH MIRRORS WERE BROKEN and COMPLETELY UNUSABLE (drivers' side swung at 360 & passenger side was taped up with no way to adjust it). the truck was nasty and very dirty the was a hole in the floor in the back and and they couldnt even provide a reciept or proof as to what im paying for.on top of that the truck broke down. i would never go there again and wouldn't recommended nobody else to go there. the worst service i ever received in my life.RUSSELL M.

Horrible experience, the location itself is filthy. They are supposed to be open at 9, I waited 15 minutes for someone to come. I was charged for insurance when I didn't ask for it. The customer service representatives were very professional and helpful, but the location and the equipment were the poorest quality I've ever experienced with U-Haul. I cannot understand how the location, and specifically the truck I rented, are still in operation. The equipment was well below my expectations for U-Haul. The location is a junk yard. The inside of the truck was not clean or suitable. The battery of the truck died which delayed my day and the uhaul location needs to be cleaned throughly. There were abandoned cars and car parts and trash everywhere. I could barely walk through the entrance to get assistance.CASSANDRAM K.
This experience was far from good. I went through a stressful situation, where my pick up location was changed at the last minute. The new location was like a garbage site, literally. The truck was not working properly. When I called the scheduling department to complain, I was told to cancel the contract and go to the initial location where I was supposed to pick the up truck, and the lady on phone confirmed to me that a truck is available there. I cancelled the contract and head towards the 168 Street/Douglass avenue, Queens. When I arrived there, the manager told that she didn't have a truck for me. I tried to explain to her my situation but she said she was busy. I called again the scheduling dept and only then, the lady took care of the situation and made a new reservation for me, not for a truck, though, but for a cargo van, which was not the vehicle I reserved online the day before. Good day UHaul Representative, After I returned the vehicle, I found that I was unjustly charged for refueling, $30 fuel fill-up + $46.50 Refuel Sales. I drove a total of 2 miles! When I discussed the matter with Ms. Foster at the location and asked for a refund, she said she couldn't issue me a refund that I would have to wait until Sept 30 to speak to her supervisor. Makes no sense since she herself generated the contract and saw that the fuel level was the same. I feel like Uhaul is trying to steal money from me, hope to get this rectified.LOISELIZABETH C.

The owner needs to be trained on how to communicate/explain the process to customers. It should be noted what equipment he does not carry. I wanted furniture covers & didnt find out that he didn't have them until I came to pick up the truck. I waited an hour for the 10' truck that was on it's way. I decided to take a bigger size because I just wanted to get out of there. The staff was very helpful.Rhonda S.
