Drop off was superrrrr sketchy. The parking lot wasn’t actually the parking lot with the right address where the guy said to leave the truck. The buildings were unmarked, which made me nervous about leaving it. And the parking lots were SUPERRRRR tight. Hard to get it parked.

This place is a junk yard, with a couple of U-haul signs on the fence and a few U-haul trucks parked randomly throughout the junked out vehicles. There was strong odor of pot where workers were "hanging out" and they could have cared less that I was returning the truck. They also could not take back a lock that I bought in Savannah and wanted to return (unopened). I was instructed by a JR Towing employee to just leave the truck and put the keys in the lockbox "over there" as he motioned towards the road. I would not recommend this site to anyone returning or renting vehicles. U-Haul Company should look into removing this location as a U-Haul dealer as it does not represent a positive image for U-Haul.
Brett NelsonConfirmed reservation was not there when I arrived. The person in the yard said he was sneaking in so no one would see him and had to call someone to virtually get the reservation.
Andrea Van SlykeIf I could give 0 stars I would. Please avoid this location and select the Gastonia or Charlotte U-Haul locations, they’re not much further and it is very much worth it. When I arrived to pick up the truck I reserved, there was a tiny lot filled with cars and no employees to be found. The number that is listed on google is out of service. My boyfriend walked around the lot to seek an employee and discovered 2 men in neon vests (the only thing identifying them as employees). These 2 men were smoking weed and started laughing when we told them we were here to pick up a truck. The one man gave us the keys and code and told us to have a great day. 1 hour later, I received a text message from a random number stating “this Uhaul idk what’s going on but if we don’t receive payment we will call the cops”. I immediately called the number and the same man said “everyone knows U-haul don’t take prepaid cards, give me a card that has money on it I don’t have time to argue and shit”. As I proceeded to ask him the payment procedure he continued to curse and once he received my card information he hung up on me. At the end of the day when I checked my transactions, they attempted to charge my card $160 for a $40 order. The contract I received in my email had a document that I did not sign but magically my name was signed. This experience was truly a JOKE just like the employees they have.
Mariya VasquezOnly take money
Eduardo PosasVehicle was already damaged ,low on fuel and had a very bad alignment that needs to be addressed. The lot the Vehicle was in very difficult to get in and out of safety . The keys prior to rental were locked into a drop off box that the property owner almost didn't want to help us,that is until Uhaul stepped in. I absolutely would NOT return to this location if I needed a uhaul in the future.
Nadja SmithI was overcharged, opted in for the safe move charge which I declined, and looks as if my signature was falsified
Coneie MunioChange the location the people are not very friendly or helpful.
Robert HarrisNo one was there. I got the truck 40 minutes after my reservation time. The lock on the key box was rusted so it took me about 10 minutes in the rain to get to the key.
Douglas HuddleKinda scary with the garage and men just hanging out on a Sunday, Space was crowded. The man I talked too was pleasant enough and helpful, but the location is rough.
Curtis GowanAll transactions were by phone and text messages. No personal contact
Timothy MacKayOwner was great came right out to view the damaged truck gave me numbers to call for help with personal property and refund . But still no help yet on that but he was great
Angela JohnsonI went to 2 different locations the first one I made reservations for and no one was even there I waited 10 and minutes and left the this location was ok it’s just the ratchet straps on the trailer we’re completely rusted out so they kept coming loose while pulling the trailer with my car on it almost causing the car to come off I had to stop multiple times to retighten
Joshua KimbleUpon arriving there was no one really available. When i found 2 technicians working on a truck they let me know i was not allowed to leave my vehicle while using my vehicle for a 2 hour trip. I got a ride and came back. No words were exchanged other than what’s your last name and follow me. When we got to the truck the guy gave me the keys and started moving a couple trucks to let me out. While i was doing my vehicle inspection he was honking the horn for me to pull out. I rushed my inspection so he would stop honking. Vehicle ran fine and was clean. Upon my arrival i parked truck and attempted to close out my rental. When i put in my odometer reading it stated i drove over 6,000 miles. As humanly impossible as that is i went back to the overly friendly technicians and let them know there was a mistake on the close out and the odometer and i needed it resolved before i closed out to prevent an astronomical charge to my account. He stated there was nothing i could do and needed to close it out and claim the issue with uhaul. I let him know that seemed unacceptable and needed to reach out to uhaul to see what i should do. Got in a live chat with an operator and they stated they could fix the mileage and they would need a manager to fix. I went back and let them know what uhaul said the resolution should be and i could tell in there frustration they said they were not fixing my mistake and i needed to pay and dispute later. I offered to leave the truck and hold onto the keys until the manager was available later that day to resolve. He stated i needed to get vehicle off of property if i was not going to return. I let them know i felt this seemed fishy and i needed to speak with an owner or i needed to call the police to get to a resolution because a $5000 charge on an $70 ride was ludicrous. They got super defensive and said i couldn’t call the police and there was no need to get the law involved in their property. Told me to wait 15 minutes and the owner would be there to resolve the issue. When owner arrived he asked me to follow him to his office to let me know i was out of line mouthing off and acting out of sorts with his guys working there.(never raised my voice or even escalated my voice towards them). Said it was uncalled for to threaten to call the police when they could handle it. I let him know i gave the employees 3 chances as well as called uhaul to resolve and they continued to tell me to pay the bill and dispute later. I followed up to ask if he was told he had to pay 5 grand when you did nothing wrong how would he handle it. After a few minutes of him checking into the issue turns out it was his employers fault and they actually put me in A rental vehicle for another reservation and they gave me the other one which caused the difference in mileage. There was no apology or admition of being in the wrong. I was the bigger man and apologized for given his employees the sense of anger when they tried to tell me to pay 5 grand for driving 20 miles. I would hope uhaul Will look into this companies operations and their inability to handle a simple fix than tell someone to just deal with a several thousand dollar charge. If anything i should be demanded a refund for wasting almost an extra hour and a half of my day to fix their own mistake.
Neal MimsNo I'm in the process of contacting my attorney so I have no comment on the experience of that move.
Gilda LigginsJohnny was great. Honest, everything was ready to go upon arrival.
Raymond TobinGreat service! Clean uhaul in great condition. Smooth pickup and drop off. Highly recommend.
Danielle RosenJohnny was very efficient and helpful
Michael BeeryThere was no way to return the equipment in person. You couldn’t walk in and return your keys, the towing people come over take your keys, don’t even ask for your information. (They are friendly) and then you have to hope it worked out. We had moving blankets in a separate order because the first location never included them in the truck like we ordered and I’m now sitting on hold for 30 mins trying to get my blankets confirmed they are returned because they of course weren’t marked return by the towing people.
Joshua LewisIts a parking lot with an old building that's not maintained don't let it intimidate you. The mechanic walked over himself and was very friendly. You do have to park down the road a bit if you come by yourself at a little strip mall. Overall, good experience.
Drew JohnsonI was charged for three gallons of fuel which I had filled the tank beyond where it started at. The company's number is disconnected. The place is nasty and the person would not check the truck in while I was still there.
Paul SalosVery personable
ROBERT SUMNERHonestly they made my first time renting a moving truck smooth and a good experience. I would definitely recommend them. As a single woman it does look a little sketchy but that's more just the location. The guys who helped me were really nice and answered questions I had. The payment part at the end was a little confusing but it got figured out. Thank you.
ruth wehchNot great as they did not inform us until we were picking up the truck that they did not have any moving blankets available when we had ordered two dozen. We were going straight to move furniture so it caused a very large issue with the move overall.
Katherine SettleThe location was hard to get in and out of and a little chaotic but they made it work.
Lisa WillmanThe was no indication on where to drop off the truck could not find the drop box felt very uncomfortable or unsafe
Lori PetersKinda crowded with uHaul stuff. Never went inside so can’t comment on office cleanliness.
STEPHEN BRADLEYThe air conditioning did not work in the truck and I had to drive 8 hours without air in 90 degree heat. Should that have been checked prior? How would I have know that the air didn't work. I was told to review the truck for dents, etc. Also, I was charged 25 dollars to clean the truck. This was such a BS charge as I have pictures to prove the truck was clean, but I too tired to argue at this point. U-Haul should provide some compensation for the air conditioner not working properly as the running condition of the truck is the company's responsibility. I have already email the company and as of today heard nothing back. As they say " you get what you pay for"
Joe DemarNot have people doing drugs at the facility or seeing drugs on the ground… They don’t want you entering the building because it’s clearly a hang out spot with potential illegal activity going on. There is nothing to purchase there, which the website doesn’t tell you… I will probably be switching to a Penske customer for now on..
Matthew FreudenbergI got charged for 2 gallons of gas that I shouldn’t have. I have before and after pictures of the gas gauge. I drove the UHaul 17 miles and put $12 of gas in it on return. Then I was charged an additional $13 for gas, no way did that truck use over 5 gallons in 17 miles hauling a bed.
Brian HuffmanGenerally uhaul is fantastic. This location was terrible though, definitely wouldn’t rent from them again. They checked my truck out with the wrong insurance over the phone without ever seeing me or asking me what I wanted, then had a mechanic from the shop bring me the keys. I returned my truck at 2:30 pm and it didn’t get checked in until 8:30 that night after calling the owner twice, leaving 2 text, calling the store, and speaking to a uhaul representative from their customer service. After my truck finally got checked in I never got a call back or a text from the owner, I had to go online to find out it wasn’t still showing that it was dispatched to me.
Austin WardJR was so kind ,thoughtful and helpful! I would use this location again! It was a easy process, I appreciated the time and effort spent making sure that, I was all set and ready to go! Rental was ready at time reserved ! Thank you
Cassandra HoustonThe yard looks like a salvage yard, not a rental company. Rude, very unprofessional & I would not recommend this provider for ANY services... They were only missing a large dog on a chain.
Richard PratherProfessional and timely. Nice gentleman
Ryan KoendersStop scamming people out of their money... you guys charged me $98 and then turned around and charged me and additional $146 and added an additional 176 miles on the dash that I didn't even use. My total miles did NOT go over 50. I want my money back because that's ridiculous! I am so livid! This was my 1st time using this company... but I'll never use this company again.
Shada GomillionNo problem with the return they are opened late and itwas very convenient.
Antone RoseUnprofessional business owner. Phone number on uhaul site goes to exemployee. Business owner tried to charge me after hours fee even though during operating hours per uhaul site. Operator did not update my agreement which resulted in 48 hr charge vs. 24 hour charge when I used the equipment less than 24 hours. Location is old and dirty junkyard of cars with unscrupulous people hanging around. This is the worst site I have experienced and you should terminate this location.
David BeachThis location is in a bad spot It’s hidden on a curve and bad neighborhood Very run down
Dustin RobinsonConvenient and the crew there were helpful. I would recommend this location. It is in the country so is nice and close to me.
Camilla FranklinThe people were very nice The location was easy to get to The actual office was neat but I was not comfortable having to walk on side of road around vehicles very unsafe
Cynthia HamelNo building and no staff. No one answered the phone or returns phone calls.
Christopher McCuskerCustomer pickup/drop off location is a one way in, one way out, small lot that makes it difficult to drive in and turn a car/ truck with a trailer around.
MICHAEL MUSSOGas tank had only 43 miles to empty from the start. Called Person in office a few minutes after leaving to ask if such little gas was supposed to be and he said he wasn’t the one I talked to but obviously was the same and said refer to my contract. Then when returning the truck I took photos of truck and following directions on app, and locked the keys in truck cab. No help in office, and was told to call U-Haul online. This is where I found that no one would answer the calls so I set up a one hour call back. This occurred like an hour and half later, and that call agent literally said goodbye and hung up. In the mean time I must have talked to 15 people probably on the online chat asking for assistance and little to no help until someone said they could get a vendor out at $175 and my Plus insurance would not cover. There was only the basic and plus available on the app when I signed up for the truck and I was told there was another insurance from someone on the phone but the app didn’t show that to me when I ordered the truck. Needless to say I mentioned U-Haul was getting me someone at this rate and the office person said he knew someone who could do it for less, and I tried getting the contact number from U-Haul chat over and over and finally did to call the vendor and when I called him he said someone cancelled him. But he told me that I should out of being safe to use a preferred vendor to help me. The office seemed very sketchy from the start and U-Haul chat online was HORRIBLE. Also the first agent who called me and hung up was horrible too. My fiancé was sitting next to me the whole time for hours in our vehicle and was also astonished and even said is this really happening? The vendor truck helper who came out told me when I first talked to him to get back with U-Haul to order him back out which took another hour or Two. He was great and he told me I should have had more gas in the truck from the start and so I beg to ask, if I had more in truck and butterfly effect occurred, would any of this and me locking myself out would have happened? Thank god we were not on side of road or in a distant location far from family or our surroundings because this was poorly poorly executed by U-Haul. Y’all need more verbal support and get rid of the chat. Every time I started a new chat because I wasn’t being helped I would have to explain my situation and then have to do it again with the road side assistance people. I’ve used uhaul many times I my life but can’t believe the poor assistance. God forbid we had children with us or elderly, because we could not rely on U-Haul to help us when in need. A 3rd party person was our biggest help and truly hope y’all fix these situations considering people are putting their trust in your establishment moving. I’m highly dissatisfied and disappointed in the whole system.
Nicholas PriceVery rude
Ryan PerkinsDead battery on truck. Had to connect trailer myself.
Kenneth TaylorThe guy was high, there was a strong odor of marijuana in the building. He told me all I needed to do was hand him the key. There was no "check-in" process. I was then charged $20.77 with no explanation (charged to my card on file).
ROCHELLE GURLEYJust a drop off. No issues. Glad it was close.
JAN ATHERTONPretty sketchy spot. Muddy. Cars parked haphazardly kept me from. Putting the trailer in a parking spot.
JOHN GRAEBERNo one available or answering phone during business hours. Dropped off as though it was past business hours. They did submit receipt very quickly. I cannot rate helpfulness or cleanliness.
Lora MoyleIt is a dump with super tight parking on a blind corner that is tough to know where to pull in to. During the check in procedure the attendant mis labeled my gas readings at 1/8 of a tank even though I had just gotten gas to ensure it was over the 1/4 of a tank to match the way I picked it up. He was so rushed to get out of there he was long gone (had driven away) before I got the receipt notification and noticed what he had done and therefore what I was being charged for. This location is less than 5 minutes from my house and I will still never go there again.
BRIAN HORNEIt’s not easy to drop vehicles or trailers off here. No ability to make pull-through moves.
Edgar LeichtLast time i rented from uhaul (different location) close by it was a total nightmare. Glad i gave this long trusted company another chance because this was the same great service i remembered from the past. Glad to know my last experience was a rare experience, and not the new norm!!
Michelle BattagliaDrop off was basically in the middle of the streets . Need a more inviting drop off area for Uhaul since there was tons of trucks on a towing yard lot. Almost looked like a junk yard really.
