The app would not recognize JV Convenience store as a return location, the QR code would not scan, and overall the self checkout return system was not user friendly. The manager at JV Convenience store however was very friendly and accommodating.
Renee T.I was contacted by an agent to ask if I had dropped off the truck at the designated drop off site. This was done about 45 minutes before the phone call. So obviously there was a mis-communication that has taken place, between where it was dropped off and to let the agent know that the truck was already there.

Jade Z.Overall, I was pleased with how swift & accessible the location, the rental truck & equipments /boxes I need for my project. I appreciated how polite, knowledgeable & helpful the convenient store gentleman & lady were. The price they offered me what within my budgeted plan so there were no surprises or excessive fees at the end. Everything was explained well. I liked the convenience of the drop off at night through the app. I appreciated the location was well lit and the box was easy to find. The only 4 things I didn't like were: 1) how painful it was to press the gas & brake peddles. They were far a part or one was higher than the other. My leg /calve was hurting while I was driving and hurt the next day as well. It was awakened to drive safely with the peddles not comfortable. 2) The truck smelled of farm animals or farm waste. I did not like how the truck smelled. 3) the airbag red light popped up periodically and disappeared on its own 4) the power outlet inside the console did now work. I was running out of phone battery and brought the plug in to use but the outlet that at the front, did not work. Aside form those minor things, I appreciated the rental truck and would certainly use the services in the future without a doubt.

Todd R.For some reason at this location I was not prompted to verify the amount of fuel. The amount on the contract vs the actual amount did not match. This resulted in an additional fuel charge even though the truck was returned with more fuel than was there initially. I am extremely unhappy with the customer experience at this location and feel cheated for additional charges. I hope this hasn't happened to other honest paying customers!

Heidi K.This location was very helpful but not impressed with U-Haul with their online reservation process After the online portion was very confusing and we thought we could pay with debit and told we couldn't once we got to the store. Thankfully the store workers helped us figure out we could pay with cash. We were very upset we needed to go all the way to maple ridge to get the truck we needed and were told the day before our move we needed to travel an extra 30 mins to get our truck.

Mahboobullah M.This family company was outstanding!!! He asked me how long I needed the truck, and I told him an hour. Well I'm happy he didn't listen to me and rented it to me for 4 hours. Of course it snowed the day I was moving items, and ended up being a little past my 4 hour rental. I gave him a call to let him know I was falling behind, he checked to see if their was anyone waiting for the truck, which their wasn't, and told me to take my time and drive safely. He made me feel so comfortable in having the truck and was very nice when I came in to hand in my keys. Thank you soo much for your amazing customer service. I will be back in future, and would recommend this location to anyone I know.

Lori H.People at the location were nice. I do have comments about the truck & my rental: - No clear way to adjust the side mirrors (neither electric nor manual). I asked the place for help but they didn't know either. - No windshield ice scraper/snow brush in the truck (the morning I rented there was frost on the windows and I had to wait until the defrost cleared it which took some time) - Would have appreciated if the truck was backed into the spot so I could have just drove away instead of having to make back up maneuvers before leaving the lot - I rented for 6 hours and called in hour 4 asking if I could get a small extension (1 hour) as the move was going slower than expected. The place I rented from said "no" or else U-Haul was going to change me an extra $50 - even though there were no other renters lined up for the vehicle and the office was open well past the extended time I wanted to return. Not sure if that is a training issue or what?

Allan B.Gary was extremely helpful in dealing with a major screw up by Uhaul dispatch. This location was 5 mins from home, they changed my location pickup to one that was an hour away during rush hour! Without notice… This is not the first time Uhaul has screwed up my pick up, BUT this was the first time a dealer took a personal interest in helping me resolve the problem. Don't change pick up locations Notify people of the change When you say you will confirm reservations 2 days before, do it! When customers call for help after being told to wait till 630 pm, then by the time you get through, it's now after office hours I had to drive down to pick up location to see if my reservation was go to go, only to be told it was all changed. Ever time I rent from Uhaul it's always a screw up. Thanks to Gary he was the. Only one to come through for me

Kyle J.The cab could have used a good cleaning, otherwise the truck was in good condition. Only a quarter tank of fuel to start was not the best scenario and an attempt to put enough fuel resulted in leaving a quarter tank more than was needed. I was assured a rebate would apply but that did not happen. My advice, put in some fuel if needed then a second time before returning the rental.

Douglas G.It's a convenience store with people at their cash register every 2 seconds. U-Haul rental customers aren't a priority to JV Convenience. What could have taken no more than 5 minutes ended up wasting over 45 minutes of my day (even though I reserved the truck and your system already has ALL my contact info listed from my MANY prior U-Haul truck and locker rentals). Further, JV Convenience employees BARELY speak English and what words they do know are with a VERY heavy accent that's hard to understand. This "language barrier" was a huge stumbling block. To be clear, this IS NOT a racist remark but simply one that addresses ease of straightforward communication. Their explanation of your new texted links, how to use them, what to do, the fact that I needed a reference (WTF?!?!?) standing beside me who needed to give JV Convenience all her personal details in order for me (a returning/repeat customer) to be allowed to rent (I'm beyond FURIOUS about this!!!), the fact your texted links don't work and I can't upload photos or scan me driver's license barcode...etc, etc. The list goes on and this is just my pick-up experience(s). The drop-off and communication/closing off of the account was an even bigger nightmare that I had no choice but to call Phoenix to complete. Never again U-Haul. Your company is being represented by idiots (another example: I had an 8' pick-up truck reserved with Mission/Reliable Towing only to find out the day prior that they had NO trucks of any kind and have NEVER had pick-up trucks). I just happened to call and double-check the reservation out of curiosity, but what if I hadn't? My required rental day would have been a frantic disaster. What a joke. Never again.

The inside window were fithy. I need to clean then so I couldn't see out of them. It looked like someone had been smoking in the truck. Because of the film on the windows.

cheryl C.The confirmation email had the wrong pick up location (Fix 4 Less Tire & Auto Service - 22587 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge). I called this location multiple times during their work hours to indicate that I had to pick up the truck later in the afternoon and no one answered. Left a message and no one returned my call. The guy was a bit rude when I showed up asking about the truck. He then directed me to JV Convenience. This added an inconvenient delay to our busy moving schedule. The JV Convenience guy was very polite and helpful, although he didn't explain the 40 mile maximum policy clearly. Improve the way policies are described to customers.

barbara B.we booked the truck from 9:30 to 1:30 pm initially, but the staff at the pick up location repeatedly ask us to return the truck before 12:00pm, the only reason he give was someone else booked at 12:30pm. I don't know how does this happen? Also we booked online on November 8 to pick up at this location, however this morning I got a email saying the pickup location was in Surrey and I have to phone Uhaul and waited 30+ minutes to talk to someone to change back my pickup location. Overall the whole experience with Uhaul wasn't a pleasant one today.
