Have someone there so I don't have to use the cashier's phone to talk to someone over the phone in a really sketchy area. If I go to a location to make a reservation, I shouldn't have to drive all over to get it! There was plenty of time for a truck to be picked up at the place I made the reservation at. And when you open the cargo there shouldn't be a rusty MACHETE hanging between the wood rails!! Who's murder weapon did I get stck with?! The location shouldn't change last minute. Also, the staff at Kenmore Avenue location (where I made the reservation) aren't very friendly and act like they're being bothered to do their job. They had a drop off location over 2 hours away from where I was moving and acted like it was a huge deal to change it. They also said the price wouldn't change. It was roughly $100 less.Brian S.

Very nice man helped me it may have been a better experience if the staff could speak English and if they could walk outside to view the truck but he was also VERY nice and explained he was alone and behind the bullet proof glass so he couldn't leave but he was a very service oriented man. The location is in a frightening area where we felt unsafe nevertheless this is not the fault of the staff. I took a picture of the gas level to show him and I had left more gas then required so via cell phone pics running in & out we were abke to get it all worked out even with the language barrier.Gregory C.

I had to wait 3 hours after my reservation for the uhaul truck because it was stuck in snow. The guy sent me out there to shovel and get the truck out of snow myself. Which inconvenienced my whole day. I reported that to customer service and all they could say is that they are sorry and that they can only give me back 50$ which I was getting back anyways. It took me an hour to get the keys to my vehicle and then my rental time could not be extended. The vehicle also had no gas when I picked it up. I returned it with more gas than it initally had and was charged a huge gas fee. I am very displeased with this location and the poor support. I've never had such a terrible experiece with Uhaul as I did with this rental.Allyson P.
The location is not great. The address for the uhaul on Jefferson Ave is different in Google. It takes you to an abandoned car sale lot down the street. The billing is outrageous. We reserved a truck a week ahead of time at a different location and selected a flat rate one way of 190.00 with a return location near our new home. We were called the day before the move and told we could not have the truck we reserved, we were given 2 different locations and two different trucks before it was finally settled, then we were charged for an in town move which we did not want all along be assured that we would "save money" when in fact, because the in town move charges mileage and we had to add almost 50 miles to our original trip just to get the truck to our destination and back plus all the trips we knew we had to make to move, hence why we reserved a 190.00 flat rate one way move. Instead we got swindled out of almost 300.00 and your 50.00 rebate isn't cutting it.Melanie B.

Very very disappointed with our U-haul rental. When we have arrived to Jefferson Express, the truck was not at the location. The person at the mart called the driver that has currently had the car. There was a 45 minutes wait. My wife and I had an event to attend, where we were so late we missed the event. Once again, very very disappointed.IMRAN K.

This is a mom/pop shop where I had to wait a half hour for the guy who manages the rentals to come to his shop and process my reservation. I reserved a dolly as well and they didnt have one. He made me go to another location to pick one up and when I arrived they did either have one. All in all this delayed my move significantly!SHALOMDOVBER C.

The location was not in a good area and did not feel very safe. We are 2 girls in our mid 20s - we were hesitant to leave my new car in the parking lot for the day, and felt scared to return our Uhaul in the dark (we did not return until 10:30pm). However, it ended up going well.Cailey B.

I rent a uhaul 3-5x a year. This was one of the worst experiences I have had. The guy told me $100 deposit. When I gave him my card instead of cash he ran it for $56.25 and when I returned it he said he couldn't come look at the van since he was the only one running the store and for us not to worry. Then I called him several hours later since I didnt get a email receipt yet and he said he never got our keys from cashier. Then to no big suprise he charged me $20 cleaning fee. There was no way that would be a far charge as I know what uhaul expects. I thought it was a shady establishment and probably partially my fault for not listening to my gut when I walked in.DANIEL N.

I was refused a receipt after returning the truck and did not get any proof that the van was returned. I was refused any proof that I replaced the gas that I used and returned the van with 3/4 tank of gas. I was refused proof of the return mileage on the rented van. I was told by the clerk at the counter inside of the gas station that I should take a photo of the mileage and gas with my phone for proof of mileage and that the gas was at 3/4 tank. I logged in just now and the site sent a pop up menu that says my original contract can not be located at this time. At this point I have not been given a refund to my bank account for the over-payment of mileage estimated at pickup and still have no proof that the van was returned un-damaged with 3/4 tank gas and no proof of the return mileage. The fender had a dent in it at pickup. I went back inside and reported the damage also showed the photo of the damage with my cellphone. The counter clerk said that he knows about the dent and that it was an old damage that occurred prior to my rental date. What I want is proof that the van was returned with 3/4 tank of gas; no damage and no further fees due and I want my refund for the mileage. The other concern I have is that the store was full of junkies and alcoholics. I got solicited by a crackhead at the side of the van while inspecting it for damage; the van was parked in a location next door to the gas station out of view for security reasons. Extremely poor location. I had no time left to make another rental location so I took the rental at risk of it all. Horrible rental experience.JEANNE L.

The location was a trash-filled vacant lot next to a gas station. Despite the reservation I made two weeks in advance, my pick-up location and time were changed the day before my reservation. Though I was told I could use the website "24/7" to pick up my truck, when attempting to follow the instructions the site said I could not pick up my truck until two hours after I arrived. I waited on hold for ten minutes to resolve this "24/7" issue but finally had to ask the gas station attendants for help. The experience was faulty and unprofessional.Haley A.

The location was less than satisfactory. When I arrived I went right inside of the location, and asked about the UHaul. They told me they did not do anything with UHaul. I went back outside, and downloaded the UHaul share app, and got myself all set online, believing that everything I needed to do was online. I finished the app registration, and instead of receiving a code to open a Uhaul lockbox I was told to go back inside. I then had to go into the store and ask repeatedly to finally get someone who know something about the keys. Then the person who was helping me was extremely reluctant to hand over the keys to the truck. It was frustrating.Daniel H.

My mom and I had to find a uhaul last minute at 6:30-7 at night, and we were lucky to find this place. The man who helped us was so very sweet, and I believe he stayed later than normal to help us. He was more than helpful to my mom and I, and he definitely went above and beyond for us. We were more than satisfied with this experience and fully intend on going back if we need a uhaul in the future.kristin K.

In a shady part of town. I ordered furniture blankets with the vehicle and it did not come with them. They said that it was not there problem that the location was just a drop location. Called U-haul and end up running around Buffalo for 2 hours trying to get them. Finally got them from the Main street location. Who compensates me for my time running around. I tried to call the location multiple times over two days and the clerk did not speak English. I was repeatedly told to call back later, but even when I did, the same two gentlemen were working and neither spoke English. When I arrived to pick up the truck, the clerk did not speak English, nor did he know how to process my order. After 45 minutes, of messing with the computer, the clerk called someone on his cell phone. This person spoke English and Arabic and translated for the clerk how to process my order. The location was possibly the worst UHaul franchise I've seen. I had made a reservation for a truck at the Main Street Buffalo UHaul location, which I trust and have used before, but a day before my pick up, you changed the location to the Jefferson Avenue location. The reservation was for 10 AM, which is when I planned on getting under way. When I arrived at the Jefferson Express mini mart, the employee behind the counter told me that the UHaul rep was "sleeping." Several questions and calls later, the man who could help me showed up, saying that he doesn't start working until 12:00. Apparently, there was a miscommunciation between the franchise employees and UHaul's scheduling staff. It's very disconcerting to arrive for a pick up and be told that the person who has the keys and contract is asleep, but that would not have happened if you had not changed the pickup location in the first place. The truck was parked in a trash-strewn, abandoned lot (including a downed street light), and both the cab of the truck and the cargo area had garbage, apparently left by the last renter. It may go without saying that this experience will make me think twice about renting from UHaul in the future.Eric J.
