We had reserved a 15 foot truck for the evansville location. Twelve hours before we were to move I get a call saying that there is no truck available and I would have to drive 30 miles from my location to get a truck. Very frustrating. I made the reservations two weeks before I needed it and then to be advised that it wasn't available was just poor customer service. U-haul wouldn't even give me a discount for my inconvenience. All they said was that I got 27 additional miles for my trouble (the miles I had to travel back to my location with the truck). Not sure if I will use u-haul in the future if the need ever arises.MATTHEW U.
The woman who helped us at Johny Ray's was wonderful. She was super helpful and the trailer was in good condition. Unfortunately we had to go way out of our way to pick up our trailer at Johny Ray's because the place where we made our reservation did not have a trailer available for us. We originally reserved our trailer at the UHaul facility on Riverside Drive in Evansville, Indiana and I would not recommend this location. When we got there the General Manager told us that she didn't think they had one for us, but she would check. When she came back she said that the only trailer that they had at the facility had a flat tire and that the closest available trailer was 35 minutes away, but they didn't open for another hour and a half. We were extremely disappointed because we planned ahead by making a reservation and then took the time to drive to the Riverside facility to find out that nothing was available for us. The general manager was less than helpful and no apologizes were made. I understand that issues come up and that she couldn't help that there was a flat tire but in the future customers should be notified ahead of time so that they don't waste time driving to the facility only to find out that nothing is available for them.Andrew S.
