First off, my location time and place kept being moved, without anyone contacting me, all the way up to my moving date. Second, when I went to pick up the rental, the truck's battery was dead! We jump start it 3 times through out the day. I wouldn't recommend this U-Haul to anyone.Victoria S.

The rental agent was incompetent, unhelpful, and impolite. Fire him. I think his name was Ron. He did not know how to use your own rental website. I had pre-ordered moving items like boxes, etc., that were supposed to be ready upon pickup. NOTHING was ready and two of the items I ordered were not even available in the store. I called another UHaul location in Topeka and they never answered their phone. I called another and spoke another incompetent and unhelpful person. Finally, I reached the UHaul at 447 SE 29th Street, Topeka, and he was friendly, helpful, and had what I needed.Robert J.

Was not happy that at the last minute my reservation was moved to this location. I had to drive an extra hour one way to go pick up my rental. The guy checking me in didn't have a good concept of how to check out the equipment on the computer. It took me an hour of my rental time to check out the rental and another hour wasted to drive to my location to start loading.Russell B.
The truck that we had needed to go in and be serviced the front end was very bad the tires are really bad it shook extremely bad and it was hard to control once you got up to around 50 55 miles an hour so I was strongly suggest that it goes into the shop and the front end gets looked at very very closely and there was a bunch of scratches that we took pictures of and sent them in that were all over the I don't know what you call it but behind the cab that box or whatever it is and I think that was about it but yeah I was strongly suggest that the truck goes into the shopGary M.

I think you should contact Jeena Poe. She can give you a pretty good synopsis of the course of events I went thru in dealing with 9 people over 6 hrs to get a damn truck I needed for 4. I don't have the time or patience to expound here. I might add that the location had little to do with this interaction since I never dealt in person on any of this. Kansas Rental shouldn't get popped for this other than the truck was not that clean and the ac didn't blow coldRUSTY U.
The man at Topeka rental was uneducated in how to check us out and repeatedly tried to overcharge us until we called the main company. The cab of the truck reeked and had dirt and grime everywhere. You can't get ahold of ANYONE from uhaul on a Saturday evening. I had accidentally locked my wallet in the truck and spent a large chunk of time trying to contact anyone. So I gave up. Also this location appears to be closed on Sunday's, so I will be without my wallet Until Sunday. Unsure if I should ever use these services again.Madison R.

The truck I had ended up having a dead battery after driving it 3 miles from the pick up location. I had to jump the truck several times to keep it running. I shared this information with the lady from the location and she said she would get me a refund of some sort which never happened. Very disappointed.anthony S.
The rental clerk stupidly told me my vehicle was not equipped to tow this trailer and wasted 15 minutes of my time sorting it out with the 800# folks. It is a 900 pound trailer and a simple google search shows you my vehicle, hitch and all components have a 7500 pound towing capacity. I would not have had to encounter her if the scheduled rental location had the equipment I reserved 2 weeks ahead of time- instead I had to drive an extra 20 minutes each way across town.ORVILLE B.

The personel at this location were incompetent. We are requesting a refund of the $16.00 charge that was included when the truck was returned. We brought it back with the same amount of fuel (between 3/8 and 1/2 tank) and have a picture of the dash showing the fuel and the return mileage.Dave B.
Move the lock boxes that contain the keys to a different spot. The current spot is right against the fence and two very large and scary dogs come right up to you, snarling and barking while you get your key. It's terrifying and a completely unnecessary experience.Philip J.

Trailer looked like it cane back from a 4X4 mudding adventure. Not fun to use when loading your own vehicle after paying good money for. Why's there a sticker that says "Save $20 and return clean" Then I couldn't return it to the same drop off location as my 26ft truck rental!!?? People at pick up location have no idea how to give specs, use your system to check out, & customer service. Not sure how they're part of a national rental company. I booked this trailer online, checked in online before coming into the store and still had to wait for nearly 45 minutes when I arrived. There was only 1 employee taking care of 3 walk in customers and customers on the phone. She was easily distracted and wasn't focusing on one customer at a time but trying to take care of it all at once. When I returned the trailer I was not given any paperwork. However the employee TEXTED my cell phone almost 24 hours later to ask when I was going to return it. I found a text message to be extremely unprofessional. I found it unsettling that there was no recollection of me returning the trailer. I will do my best to not have to rent from this location again.Ryan W.

We selected trailer on line. Once I went to pick it up I saw that it would be too small for our needs and after trying several times to change it and even though there were plenty of bigger options available the local rep and corporate rep would not let us upgrade. We wound up not using anything from uhaul and we were not offered a refund of any kind. Will never use again and I will make it my mission to tell everyone I speak to what a horrible experience and rude customer service we were given.Luis M.

The person who hooked up the trailer did not check any of the lighting, which pales in comparison to the fact that he did not check the actual connection. I made it about three blocks before the trailer unconnected from the vehicle. Fortunately no damage was done to the trailer or my truck. However, I will NEVER do business with Kansas Rental again, and U-HAUL should reconsider as well, as this is a black eye on your company. No need to go into the incompetence at Kansas Rentals, where the front desk asked me why they lost connection to their printer and acted as if she had never rented out a trailer before.Stewart C.

Person was nice and service was fine. Returned truck noted gas level as when picked up was noted separately from printed ticket. When received ticket - charged 7 gal gas - called - given 800 number as they could not help - explained situation and was forgiven charge. I always take pictures of console before/after ride to ensure that I have a picture to back up what I am saying. Not certain how could have been different - but thank the gal at the 800 number - helpful and fast.Nancy L.

The customer service was extremely poor. They had no appliance dolly available BUT we had to ask if they could call another location and locate for us. We then had to go pick it up ourselves. Issues when we arrived to get said furniture dolly. This was with no apology or solution by Kansas Rentals. We had to solve problem which we did but they were not helpful to say the least. Gas in the truck was not at level they stated it was to be on the contract. Genuinely believe Kansas Rental should NOT be a U-Haul location for the name and reputation of U-Haul. Have moved and used U-Haul and other providers in last 12 months (three large moving trucks, rented trailers 3 different times for smaller moves, and a vehicle trailer). This was by far the least pleasant experience. Disappointing.Jim B.
Please explain all the extra charges when customers inquire about rentals because a 900.00$ truck was quoted and then with all the extra shenanigans my mother ended up paying almost 2000.00$ that is outrageous when we didnt even have a pull out latter and the truck was small...which we where kinda in awwh when we saw it but what we know now I think this will be the last time using uhaul thanks but no thanks.......betty M.
