Maybe let them know to come a few minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment. Also make it clearer online that if you have the uhaul truck past the indicated return time, you have to keep it overnight and return it in the morning as opposed to there being a key drop-off.

I picked up my rental at ~7:30pm. I was told when I picked up the truck that the location that they closed at 8pm. So, the attendant informed me that they open at 8am, and to return it after that. I said I had a breakfast meeting for work and I can return the truck just before 10am. She said that is not a problem, you can keep it until 11am technically because that is your 4-hour rental. I drove the truck back last night and parked it 50-yards from the location, and returned promptly (and well before 11am I was instructed to have it back). PLEASE REFUND THE SECOND DAY CHARGE AND INSURANCE FOR THE SECOND DAY. Thank you!

they showed up 20 minutes late(8:20 instead of 8:00 am) and didn’t even apologize. they pushed back my set schedule significantly and caused much unneeded stress. they then gave us a uhaul 10” truck in manhattan with only 1/4 tank of gas and took their time throughout the whole transaction. i wasn’t even offered a discount much less any other form of apology and it was honestly very frustrating and stressful. next time, they could plan better to arrive on time or could at least apologize for the inconvenience.

The truck had a broken window handle and the emergency brake comes apart. Office staff give excellent service nonetherless!!!

I had an amazing experience here. The truck I rented was there waiting for me when I got there 5 mins early. Lynda at the front desk was delightful and made the process very stress free and easy. She was even able to set me up with a later return time, per her recommendation. Best Uhaul experience I've had yet. Thanks!

I made a reservation online for a 10-foot U-Haul for 24 hours. I declined the SafeMove insurance policy. When I arrived on-site to pick up the truck, the customer service representative, Linda, attempted to charge me an extra $55 for my rental by adding an extra day to my reservation and adding in SafeMove insurance without asking me. When I politely pointed out this error, Linda rudely told me that she already charged my card and that it could not be fixed. She pressured me to sign the receipt without any written assurance of fixing the error and she accused me of not telling her the full details even though I filled all the information correctly online. I apologized to her, but her attitude was unacceptably dismissive and arrogant. She seriously needs to be retrained.

Nothing wrong with the location, but I have a massive problem with the Uhaul reservation system. When you book a truck, it turns out the location you pick is actually only your "preferred" location, and actually you never really know where you're going to get a truck, and you have to read the fine print to know where to pick up. The location I chose only has one truck so the poor (and very kind) lady there has to constantly deal with confused people thinking their truck is there when actually they needed to go to the other side of town because "didn't you read the confirmation email?". Who reads confirmation emails?? When I book a flight, I don't check wether I got a flight from Chicago if I booked it from Houston. This is a retarded system that needs changing - the onus of communication is on the sender; if dozens a people a week show up a location because they misunderstood the system, then it's the system, not the people.

1. Representative opened stores 20 minutes late 2. Forgot to have in store the 20 blankets I ordered. 3. I left store with no blankets or dolly. 4. I had to return for dolly and 6 blankets only. This cost me time as I had movers charging me and did not have supplies and truck was late. 5. Reps English just awedul. They were lazy and slow. 6. Said my truck had 1/4 tank fuel. It was less than 1/4. Returned truck got charged $30 for not having 1/4 tank. It was close to 1/4.

Don’t allow for a rental pick up time to be made during hours when the business is not open. The day of my rental I got a call saying that the vendor was not open at 10PM, the time that my rental pick up time was. I wanted 10AM for obvious reasons. Luckily they were able to give me the reservation after the customer who had actually had the 10AM time slot and even let me know that they returned it early. However, I really had to race to get the truck returned by 8PM or else I would have been stuck with it overnight. That caused additional stress with my move.

The staff was friendly but the truck was dirty, I had to clean it out for 20 minutes before I felt safe to use it, and there was trash inside the facility next to where I grabbed the truck. Including very dirty beds. I nearly didn't take the truck because of the facility it was stored in. I'm still concerned I may end up with bedbugs after this move.

Lady at desk was very slow, made me waste a lot of time. The system sent me my location at the time of my reservation, meaning i was already at one location and it was telling me to go to another one. They estimated the dollars per miles wrong and ended up charging me way more than they should have.

I am terribly dissatisfied with my Uhaul experience at this location. The vehicle I was scheduled to use was available over an hour and a half after my reserved time slot cutting my move time in half. My move was ultimately incredibly rushed and nearly dangerous to complete within the new 2-hour window. In addition to my 1 1/2 hour wait time, I had a miscommunication with the front desk about refueling the tank and was charged an additional fee for gas. I was explicitly clear about how I was going to return the vehicle and the front office staff agreed that I would not be charged an additional fee. So after a 1 1/2 wait and a poorly communicated gas charge, this has been a terrible experience.

Everyone renting a uHaul truck should take a picture of the gas gauge, mileage, and damages for their own records and then confirm if those records match the contract prior to driving off with the truck.

Reservation was made under the pretense that there would be late night return allowed. I then received a call from the partner location the day of the rental and they were expecting me at the wrong time and were closing earlier so I had to find parking for the vehicle overnight which cost me additional money. I called for support from uhaul and was met with a lot of pushback and was very disappointed with the fact that I was left to deal with a very inconvenient situation.

Issue with drop off. Self-drop off allowed me to drop truck off at this location. As I was leaving, employee ran out at gave me back keys. Told me I was not allowed to drop of truck and he would not accept it. We called traffic who seemed confused. Then told me I needed to move truck to 23rd street uhaul. Issues arose afterward. My issue is not with 10th street location but with selfdrop off

The fuel mark was wrong by 1/4, they had to correct it after I checked. And worse, I got charge Insurance even though I never asked for it. I did not notice until returning the vehicle and they said it was too late and would not refund, and that I had to ring Uhaul head office to get the refund. I tried that, but after 30 mins on hold, I gave up over this $16, but I am really annoyed about it.

I was placed at a location that didn’t have the van I needed available, no confirmation call was made in advance. When I called, they told me I had to go to Chelsea after I had confirmed with the previous person on wed I didn’t want Chelsea and how could I change this. They switched me to a 10ft truck (just to use the location, which I did not need). They were going to honor the van mileage price but then it did not show up on my final price. There was no appliance dolly in my van, which I wa also charged for. I was also charged for insurance which I had opted out for online. I would like to be discounted for the the insurance, no dolly (which I didn’t have) and for the van mileage. Otherwise, Linda (employee at desk) attempted to work within the constraints while being busy in Phone and helping others and myself. My experience was less than optimal and I have had previous good experiences. My total should have been MUCH less.

It’s a Storage unit with one van and the workers there won’t let you use the app to pick up or drop off. They also don’t really know how to help efficiently because they’re mostly dealing with storage. I had a pretty rough experience because I got into traffic and couldn’t drop off before the garage closed and therefore had to find street parking back up by my house in the heights. If I was able to use the app it would’ve been fine.

I rented the truck for 12:30 pm and when I arrived there was no truck. I had to wait an hour for a previous customer to return the truck. When it finally arrived there was a problem with the computer and it took another half an hour to leave the facility. I was unable to move all things I need to because of this lost time.

Terrible! I ordered blankets and a dolly for a reason, of course! And they gave me the van WITHOUT it! And all they did was just removing that cost from my bill, WTF!? This is the minimum for ALL THE TROUBLE I had. And in the end I was charged 3 gallons of fuel for 7 miles!!!! SEVEN MILES, 3 GALLONS??? What is this? My first time and for sure my last time. Thanks for making my life miserable!
