I must say the 17' truck I rented is a piece of junk. It should not be on the road with the steering the way it is. Very hard to keep truck going straight down the roadway which is a big safty issue. I would appreciate a partial refund for the safty issue I had to deal with. Not a happy customer at all.

I am very unhappy with the fact that my fuel level was not correct and I am being charged almost $30 for fuel. I have filed a complaint and sent in the drop off picture to prove where my level was at. So with the no AC and the truck shaking then adding the fuel charge issue, my next truck rental will NOT be with Uhaul which is sad because I have used Uhaul for the last 7 or 8 years.

Make sure your location is actually going to have the truck and not tell you they are getting it from another dealer. I was expecting a truck at a location a 8AM and when I arrived was told the truck was at another location which I went to and found it was closed till 9AM. After keeping a crew of six waiting for over 1.5 hrs, I finally arrived at the job location. Lisa's Shabby Chic agent was sorry for the mix up and gave me a break on some of the rates, but it was still a very frustrating way to start the day I planned a week earlier.

Equipment overcharge not corrected in a timely manner. When called to resolve issue after two weeks of waiting for credit card return for overcharge, U-Haul had no record of request for return for overcharge, and Shabby Chic had no record of overcharge conversation. I find this disturbing, as overcharge for equipment, especially $60 for a dozen pads for 1 day is exorbitant, and should have never been recorded upon return as $40 per day for two days per dozen. This seems like an intentional inflation of charges with hopes that customer just goes away and forgets about overcharge. I find this type of approach to customers unethical at best. Honest mistakes, which they admitted they made a calculation error upon return, is standard acceptable practice. However, then denying the conversation ever happened and no records either at U-Haul nor pick up location creates many red flags. I would not use this particular location in the future. Questionable accounting practices on return of equipment to create overcharges, and questionable ethics in resolving overcharges.

I had to come back for hand truck/dolly because I forgot to ask for one, so it would be helpful if staff would offer. It just takes added stress off a mover's mind because I had a million things to remember, so offering a hand truck would have been amazing so I didn't have to come all the way back for it. Plus, it's an upsell, so it makes sense to offer.

Not a good location, the truck was filthy, the counter guy was rude and acted like I was a complete inconvenience to his thrift store operation. Way too many locations to deal with unprofessional people. Will be spreading the word.

The parking location is behind the building and then you have to walk around to the front to drop off the key. The neighboring businesses have signs in their windows as to which business hosts the U-Haul dealer. Once inside, the counter is in the middle of the building so you have to look around a little to know where to go. The dealer has Saturday hours which are convenient.

I was charged for 17 miles while I only drove 8 miles at most. The biggest mistake I done was not taking pictures of mileage when picking and dropping the vehicle.

I’m 6’ and 230 lbs and could barely lift the tounge on the trailer. No jack and no assistance with hooking up. Didn’t even have any blocks to hold the tounge up while I backed up.

I rented a car trailer from this location and used it for about 5 hours, the lot where I picked it up behind the building was a mud pit and got my truck and the trailer muddy. After returning the trailer and getting my bill, I seen that I was charged a $15 cleaning fee... For a car trailer. This charge was definitely unnecessary and thrown on to get extra money. It was not my fault that the lot that holds the uhauls and trailers was a mess. Be aware of unnecessary charges from this place. I was quoted $58 for roundtrip and my card was charged $73...

We were charged $22 extra for gas however my husband is 100% sure the gage was at the 3/4 mark when he dropped it off. When I called to inquire about the charge, I was told the gage was at 1/2 after it was dropped off .. I think workers should take pictures of the gas gages before and after a customers use to ensure validity of their “eye balling” to upcharge customers.. we will not be using uhaul again due to the extra charges. We only used the uhaul for 7 miles altogether and that was definitely not worth getting charged $66..

this isnt so much about this location, but mostly toward the "call center" but the Tiffin location also was some trouble. Worst experience i've ever had with uhaul. The tiffin location told me they couldn't get a box truck for me and to try somewhere else. So i did. the next close location said to call the reservation line. The lady i talked to last saturday told me the 2nd location had the truck i needed. Then she took my reservation information saturday the 27th of October. She told me the pick up location would be the first location i called.. tiffin.. the one that said they cant get trucks, only vans... so i attempted to call sunday when the reservation lady said they'd be open... they were not open. She told me the hours were 9-5 sunday. it was 9-12... then i asked about picking it up monday when i was still talking to the same lady saturday, She told me the hours monday was 9-7pm... that was the only reason i paid the deposit. Because i had to pick up after five on monday. After work. Luckily i called all morning monday until someone picked up and said they were only open til four.. and the reservation lady set me up for a 8am pick up!!!! They were only open til 4pm.... so i had to bother my father to go ahead of me and pick it up. I will definitely go out of my way to not rent from uhaul again.

I specifically reserved a cargo van in order to fit into the space needed, yet when I arrived they didn't have one. Instead they substituted a 17" truck which I had to park on the street instead of backing into the ally/driveway. Needless to say we had to hand carry everything 3 x's as far. In addition, the windshield was so "bugged" up I had to clean in prior to use.

I changed my pick up time few days before to 11 am and the person never made the change so I could not get the truck until 430. Also, the truck was not full of gas. There was big dirt spot on side of truck that I washed off. Person checking me out could not explain why I could not drop off truck to my preferred location. She wanted me to drop it off several miles away from where I was moving to. It doesn't make sense to make reservation so far in advance then have to stress about where we can drop off the truck. It was very stressful to worry about it.

Truck had only 1/4 tank fuel. We feel trucks should come with a full tank. Since we didn't know gas mileage of truck we filled it up and at return it had 1/2 tank - actually costing us money. Day before pick up he called to confirm but had us down for wrong size truck. Fortunately he was able to get us the correct size.

I just moved a few blocks from where I used to live. The uhaul place is less than 5 mins from me we literally did 2 hauls returned the truck by 830 PM and they said we drove 112 miles! Not even possible we didnt even drive it enough to put gas in it so I had to do a dispute sooo frustrating

The initial trailer that I had reserved was not available upon pick-up time. I was told that because completed the reservation online, the overlap in time does not always coincide with actual time and that I may have to wait longer as the trailer that I had reserved was coming from Columbus. I had already reserved and paid for the trailer online. She told me she could not get a hold of the person that had it and I was welcome to use the 5x8 trailer that was there. I elected to use the 5x8 because there was no real guaranteed time for arrival of the 6 x 12. The 5x8 trailer was placed on a slight hill that was not noticed prior to lifting the trailer. The trailer has no jack to easily place the trailer onto the hitch, hence you have to lift and pull the entire cargo trailer forward to attach it to the hitch. In doing so the trailer moved too far forward due to momentum and weight with the inability to stop it, the trailer dented the bumper of the truck. The sales attendant said, "oops, looks like a bad day" and that was that. No discussion as to if it could be remedied and basically insinuated it was my fault and issue to deal with. I had elected for the $8 insurance on the 6x12 trailer, but in looking at the transfer paperwork for the 5x8 it was not included. I was also initially charged the 6x12 price for the 5x8 trailer as well. So, due to the inability for the trailers to have a jack and having to move the trailer manually, I now have a dented bumper that no one cares about and it's my problem to deal with. I will likely not rent from UHaul because of this.

I felt like I was imposing on them. We reserved at the very last minute due to an emergency, but arrived in plenty of time. They complained the entire time about how late it was, how they HAD to be out of there on time, how it was already reserved for someone else later in the week. I offered to return the truck the next morning to that location so they would have it, but she said it would cost me double (as opposed to doing a one-way and leaving it in Akron). I just felt like I was a problem for them. The truck was in good condition, however.
