The guys at the shop were Excellent!. I found the check in on my phone to be really frustrating to use and was relieved to have the staff there just check me in. Also I had edited my reservation online to rent a bigger truck and instead of just changing the vehicle it booked me a second truck. Luckily that was remedied when I spoke to the people in the shop in person. So much less complicated when you can connect with an actual human. The location was so convenientSue S.

Given the current covid 19 conditions, there was no indication as to whether the truck was sanitized or cleaned. I did clean the inside of the truck and the cloths which I used were dirty which would seem to indicate the vehicle was not properly cleaned prior to use.Gordon J.

The truck was great but the customer service and pick up arrangements not easy. Moving is a grudge purchase people are often tired and stressed. Here is what happened to me. â€¢ complicated app process in order to pick up truck parked off the property â€¢ nobody checked I had the extras I had ordered so got home and had to return to depot to collect them furniture dolly etc, venue did not stock furniture pads I had ordered on line and was told that I had to pay separately for the furniture dolly â€¢ when I returned the truck nobody thought to remind me there was $30 refill free if I did not fill up the tank. â€¢ trucks speedometer was on mph in Canada it's kph The rental prices are fair and truck and equipment in great shape, but the lack of care for the customer was rough to experience.john B.

The location and staffing are great the problems arose with u-haul Being an American firm they are not Canadian customer oriented Contrac was set up in kilometres and Canadian dollars but billed in miles and USA dollars- pickup time was delayed y and hour without my being notified costing me to have 2 movers waiting- was told would have either a seniors or airline discount dib not happenLarry L.
I had booked my 26' UHaul truck 3 weeks in advance for PU in Surrey and for Mobile Pick Up. I had a crew booked to start my move at 8:00am. A phone call the day before telling me the closest truck was in Abbotsford and couldnt be picked up until 9:30 really caused unecessary stress during a stressful time of moving. I found this very unproffessional from a large company like UHaul. It wasnt until I saw the 26' truck in Tsawwassen that I called UHaul and asked why I couldnt have this truck (I moved from White Rck to Tsawwassen) Once I called, and what I feel did the dispatchers job for her, I was able to Pick Up the truck in Tsawwassen. After I got the truck and location I originally requested the service and truck were great. Only recomendation... Do everything you can to pay attention to where people are moving from and moving to and try to accomodate a truck location that isnt 41KM away in the opposite direction.Kevin B.
Where do I start? I thought this would be easy ...local Uhaul was close to home etc Made a booking in July for a 17 foot truck Told in Sept that all I could get was a 20 foot truck ..ok Then when it got closer to the date I was told that they have never had a 20 foot so unless I went to another location I would need to take 26 foot ok I only needed the truck for one day [ Sunday ] but the whole concept of a one day rental seemed too complicated. They open at 10:00 on Sunday ..I wanted to be on the move by 07:00....they closed at 2PM on Sat, tried to do the self service check in but told the earliest I could get the key was 08:00. They had two lock boxes but one was broken. I had zero confidence in getting the key Sunday am for I booked the truck for 2 days [ and paid insurance for two days ] Truck cab was clean but box was not clean, had to sweep out sand and rocks. Truck had zero gas to start so first stop on a busy day was for gas. My picture of the start miles was 28282.5 picky but you billed to the decimal so fair is fair. Need a call about the rate as the web site and my telco conversation were all stating 0.69 cents per KM, rate I was billed was 1.43 per KM? Over all not a great experience.... I rented the vehicle at minutes before closing time 4:45 pm on Tues afternoon. I returned the vehicle at 8:45 pm on Wed, the next day, AFTER closing. Thats after phoning to say that I would for sure get the truck back that day. I was 3 hours later than 24 hours. I have been charged for TWO days. which when added together is a difference of about $ 39.00. This is not fair. and was not explained before I rented. I will continue to follow up on this overcharge. All I was told was to contact the main office, nothing could be done.Wayne M.

Store hours changed with no notice, went back 3/times I could not pick up truck because it was not on site ( 1 1/2 delay) I miss place my receipt called to see if can get another copy was told not able their system does not retrieve the past receipt still don't have it and I have submit it to my company for reimbursement by year end. Their computer did not seem to be working smoothly so check in and check out slow. Plus when you pick up most rental vehicles the tank is full and that is the way you are supposed to return it. This was the opposite but clerk never told us. If I had not happened to glance at fuel gauge I could easily have run out gas on the highway. Plus contract said fuel guage was 1/4 but was actually 1/8 or less so I had to call clerk to let them know. Clerk never made us aware of kilometer charge when we rented so that was unpleasant surprise, but was quick to sell us additional insurance coverage. Plus there was no half day rental which was surprising. Basically, sales clerk did the absolute least in terms of customer service. If there was another choice I would not go back to this locationJohn L.

Was told incorrectly I had to have the Van back by 4 pm 6 hrs when I later discovered I had paid for 24 hr rental. The Van was not clean smelt bad and was not swept or vacuumed out. Not the best experience at all. Would not recommend.John-Peter G.

The toll free # gave us the wrong address for Pick up The address I was given was 1835 61 Street (this address does not exist in Tsawwassen (it is a residential home in Ladner, your website is also incorrect (it gave me my own address.) we happen to know where the dealer is located at 1835 56 Street in Tsawwassen. The guy behind the counter was awesome. He let me in before the listed open time which enabled me to catch the ferry on time. I'm disappointed with UHAUL's corporate policy to not rent trailers to Ford Explorer owners even when those customers have a history of safely returning equipment.Duncan M.
