I would not recommend this location to anyone. When I arrived at the location, no one knew how to complete the rental contract as the owners were not onsite and they were the only ones who knew how use the uhaul system. It took 45 minutes to pick up the trailer even with me doing advanced check. The girl had to call uhual to complete my rental contract. They did not know how to do a circle check on the trailer. The 6x12 trailer is a very heavy trailer, it would have been nice if someone would have been able to help me lift the tongue of the trailer on my hitch ball. Then when returning there was no one available to help lift the trailer off the hitch ball. When I checked the trailer in I was charged additional two days of rental when clearly on my contract at time of pick up I had pre paid for 3 days . I would not recommend having trailers as this type of location!!Ron S.
We had no idea that we would be sent to a location that was not an official U-Haul store. It felt very unprofessional and confusing. Luckily the women in the store were helpful, but the location overall was surprising. In truth, the emails and texts from U-Haul were both excessive and lacked any pertinent information. Later we discovered that the furniture pads and dolly that we ordered weren't included.Natalie S.

Location did not display any U-Haul signage and it was difficult to figure out where in the plaza to go. Was charged an extra $57 in error which was corrected, however the error should not have occurred in the first place.Nathan H.

I got charged an extra 70 dollars for being late. I dropped off the truck on time and filled it up with gas when I dropped it off. It is compete bullshit the kinda shit you do to your customers. I have full intentions on using uHaul another 2 times in the next week but I am never using or recommending such a crooked company.Ryan C.

A sign would be nice. We pulled in and couldn't find any evidence that this was a uhaul location. We spent 20 mins trying to figure out where our uhaul was and how to pick it up. Also we we're sent an address but not the name of the company which might have been helpful in this case.Marc M.

The U-Haul agent was at home sick that day 'n working from home. There was only the woman who works in the Women's clothing store on premises to try 'n help us. She had to phone agent,who needed all my details again as her computer wasn't bringing up our account with U-Haul.Agent had to phone back after 5 minutes with confirmation, There was no cord socket to connect trailer lights to car,although agent said it was in the office.All that was there was a computer cable.We couldn't then buy one at the pick-up location ,so Barton Road U-Haul was called and my son had to drive over from his home to pick it up for us. We were delayed about 45 minutes over all this,with two young grandchildren in the car waiting,after a drive up from St. Thomas to pick up trailer,so we were not best pleased with the service.Nancy L.

Worst customer service truck was covered in snow lady never even came outside. First truck she tried to give me had a lock on the back so she gave me 6 keys to try which non of them worked. I made my reservation 6wks prior for the Burlington location. The day before my rental I was told I had to pick it up in Stoney Creek, 20km+ away, for a pick up on the Friday of a long weekend, what a great start to my move. Along with that the location that I picked up at was a women's dress store, so no additional items for the move (boxes, packing supplies, etc) are available to be purchased.Andrew M.

Excellent experience. Gorgeous lady at location provided quote quickly, efficiently and in a friendly manner. When I returned on Monday to rent the price had gone up. The Uhaul representative went to the trouble of making a call and kept the previously quoted rate from Friday. This was very well done and made a difference to me. I would deal with this location again anytime and will not hesitate to recommend it. The Uhaul vehicle was in good working order and the air conditioning worked well. Suggestion would be to consider ordering the trucks with a CD player and/or auxiliary jack.Robert W.

When I got the truck the fuel guage read 3/8ths. The truck was fuel efficient, I went 30 miles, I put 5 litres of gas in it before returning it. The guage was reading 3/8ths, but I was told that I didn't put any gas in it. Showed them my gas receipt. Their system was very slow so I was told to come back for my partial refund of my deposit. Horrible customer service. Cost me almost $100 to move on queen mattress!LAURIE T.

I am very dissatisfied by the policy that U-Haul maintains. Not familiar with the vehicle I had filled it up completely not knowing how much gas it would take. I was to return it with a quarter tank which it had when I picked it up. I put in an extra $50 in gas and inquired whether they would compensate for it and was told that was not the policy. I suggested they have clients bring tanks back full instead of a quarter tank which makes more sense since it would take out the guessing on the clients part how much gas they should put in. Over all I was not satisfied by there response or their concern whether the customer is happy in the end and will not recommend or use their services again.Sharon K.
I will never rent or recommend uhaul! I specifically ordered my rental at Barton and Nash hamilton when I arrived I was told to drive back to 661hywy 8 I just drove by that location by 15 miles so I drove back to new pickup location then drove back to hamilton where my move was... Wasted 2hours of my time and I drove total of 40 miles in city traffic for no reason, the vendor at 661hywy 8 did their very best to help me and calm down the situation... I asked some of my employees about the Hamilton location at Barton and Nash and the ones that have used Uhaul all had issues at that location and never rent there because of their experience.Wayne L.

Your website was an exercise in frustration, your phone service was just as poor. I had to go to a main outlet office to locate equipment at another vender, had to wait some time to have missing parts of equipment before use. The vender Marquis systems was excellent helping me.ed M.

I paid 175 bucks for a 17 ( ordered 14) from stoney creek to niagara u gave me only 40 km and charged me extra!!!! Ridiculous!!!! Had less than 24 hrs.... Filled back up clean !!!! Crazy for free km for price.... Have used u in past.... Got ample free km or got charged 39.95 + km would have been much cheaper.... Not real happy overall for price!!!!JENNIFER D.

I arrived at night, parked the truck and left the key in the red box, so I actually never spoke to a rep at that time. Did speak to them on Tuesday, the lady was very pleasant and encouraged me to speak to the regional director who then told me to write this reviewDaniel D.
The dealer at 691 Main st should not be renting trailers. I ended up goingg to the main Uhaul location to get the chains properly installed and the lights working. Mike at Barton and Nash in Hamilton was terrific. Please Thank him!JIM B.

When i rented the truck the manager said it should cost me about $60 in gas. I put $65 worth of gas in the truck before I left Cobourg. One km from the drop off point in stoney creek I added another $20 to raise the needle to exactly the place it was when I picked up the truck. They have charged my credit card another $59.60 in gas charges. This is unjust and I want it removed from my credit card. Thanks Mike CoghlanMIKE C.
I was very displeased, and I am serious when I say very displeased, with the fact that although I reserved a 17 ft truck for the Dec 3rd weekend 2.5 weeks in advance, that I was only going to be given a 24ft truck. That was all that UHaul had available for me. I found this out less than 24 hours before my move. I did not feel comfortable to drive such a truck, and I did not even have enough stuff to fill it half-way. I did not know how to pack it in order to prevent my small amount of things from flying around and getting damaged. To resolve this, I had to call UHaul at least 4 times, and then I had to physically go over to my pick-up location to resolve this in person the night before my move. The personnel at the Stone Church Road, Hamilton location were very helpful and managed to find a 10 ft truck for me at the Marquis location that was just returned there 30 minutes before I arrived at Stone Church to fix my situation. The truck was perfect for what I needed. If the people at the Stone Church Road location could not find me an alternative, I was going to cancel my reservation and never use UHaul's services again. The stress of finding the right truck the day before my move, despite having a "reservation", was very high! I spent that day calling UHaul over and over again while at work! And then I was up late finishing to pack up for my move that night, because the time I was supposed to be packing was spent clearing up the "reservation" I had made. I strongly advise that UHaul changes its reservation system, if at all possible. I find its system VERY UNRELIABLE and stressful. If my reservation was too short of a booking in advance of my moving date in order to guarantee the truck I needed, I would have appreciated a notification much earlier than THE DAY BEFORE I NEEDED THE TRUCK!! If I would have known this earlier, I would have found a different way to arrange my move (i.e. friends' vans/trucks, etc). The day before is TOO LATE for anyone to find another means of moving than using the "reservation" which that person had made. Outside of this situation, everthing else with UHaul was fantastic. The personnel were all very helpful, and the truck was in excellent condition. I really like the 10 ft truck for small moves and the one-way moving option. It's excellent! On an aside, for the Marquis location specifically, I did not appreciate that the lady arrived late. She finally arrived 15 minutes past my pick-up time. After all the paper work sorting, etc, my scheduled moving times were delayed for at least 30 minutes. It was important for me to meet the moving schedules I had made in order to arrive at my new apartment for the elevator times I had booked. This was the only customer service issue that I was not pleased with. Everything else at the Marquis location was great.SOFIA M.
