Convenient location, and nice enough people. Not well enough staffed to get customers in and out. The truck I rented was not clean in the cab or in the back. A walk-through at the end of my rental experience was not completed with staff, and I was overcharged for gas, them indicating the gauge was significantly lower than where it was when I had parked.

I arrived at McClendons hardware of sumner WA to pick up my 26’ supermover, and when I got out to the truck I was shocked to see that The truck had several sizable damage spots on the side (not documented by the photos provided by U-Haul) the truck smelled moldy so I needed to purchase a vent pod to deal with the smell, steering wheel/cup holders/center console/seats were coated in a nasty sticky substance that I had to clean, had no windshield wiper fluid so we needed to stop halfway through and pick some up at a gas station, and an OPEN used pack of NarCan on the floor of the truck. One full package of narcan was located and left in the center console.

Even though I correctly documented the condition when I processed the through the pickup sequence in the app, the app automatically attempted to place me at blame for the untidy condition. My assumption is that the previous renter did not accurately convey the dirty condition upon return. In this instance, the convenience of the self-service app falls short and required a direct intervention from the very helpful person at McLendon’s. Although I am satisfied with McLendon’s handling of the matter, the app has some quirky attributes that could result in additional charges if the consumer is unaware.

Tyler Hankinsonit took me over an hour to get the uhaul itself . made our day go extremely late . “avoiding the line” is a lie, the employees seemed inconvenienced & when i told her i needed uhaul keys, she told me to go wait at a different counter and she’d call someone over as there were several other people waiting to be helped at the counter. spent over 30 minutes inside for what was supposed to be contactless .
Sierra JohnsonFirst truck I had was dirty and missing a catalytic converter. Second vehicle was dirty inside and in storage box. It was super loud like it had an exhaust leak. Truck had good tires and did the job well. The employee at this location was Ben and he was awesome to deal with. He really did his best to go above and beyond. I recommend Ben highly for his customer service and helpfulness.
John ChadwickI had to go to this location as the Location my original reservation at Sumner on auto ave didn't have the appliance dolly and I was moving a refrigerator and only that - and I couldn't do it without the dolly. Even though I rented a dolly in my reservation. Then we got there and the 15 ft truck didn't have a key - so they rented us the 17ft. but charged us the extra money even though it was their problem of not having the key - but we were sent there for that truck. I had people paid to help us at a certain time - and it really screwed up our schedule. We were very lucky to make this all work - but it was so very frustrating.

Jeff SullivanTo be clear my dissatisfaction is really with u-haul and not this location. I reserved a truck, a hand truck and a furniture dolly on the app specifically so that I could return the truck when we were done no matter the time. The hand truck and dolly were not in the truck when we were picking up, we ent back in the store to get the items and were told they don’t have furniture dolly’s. This was very frustrating as we were mostly trying to move furniture. Then when I went to return the truck at 9pm there was no key drop box. I used the online chat to try to get key instructions and they could find no info on the drop box and they had me call the u-haul number. They also could find no drop box info and told me I would have to come back in the morning with the key, an extra 40 mins out of my day. It is frustrating because the app should not have advertised this as a 24/7 location and it should not have let me reserve a dolly they do not have. If I had all of this info I would have reserved at another location that met my needs. Instead this just ended up being very frustrating.

I asked guy if he could wait for me (10-15 minutes) to drop off that night because that’s when I could get ride , the guy said no. They left hand truck in back of truck, had to tell them to take it out. Won’t use this service again.

Amy BykerkI was supposed to be able to pick up the 26 foot truck at 8am but when I arrived the app said I had to wait until the store opened. I reserved it with the 24/7 option. I then saw an employee and asked if there was anything they could do and he said “nope” and walked away. I then waited an hour till they opened up. The truck I reserved was missing its catalytic converter so I had to get a 20 foot truck. I’m very frustrated with the location and UHaul.
Nathanael KarnesI had signed up for 24/7 pickup when I arrived at 0500 to start my move the location was not open and the keys were nowhere to me found. This put a huge damper in my plans and cause me to drive more miles than I wanted to and such caused the rental to be more expensive. In addition the location charged me twice for the move and also overcharged me. My final bill came out to 104 but when I look at my bank statement it says 127. This is absolutely unacceptable and when I try calling to talk to someone nobody is able to answer my questions. I will never go here again.

When I arrived at the pick-up location, I spent 20 minutes trying to check in before I finally gave up and went inside. Once inside, I was asked for the same information I'd already provided when I originally reserved the vehicle. Terrible.
