I requested a small size trailer. Was booked for one but was given the largest sized trailer. It’s too large for my small suv to comfortable pull. Had to return it. Was never told my request would not be met. Was not told the size was going to be larger. Very little communication during the entire process.

The gentleman that works there was cranky on the.phone when I asked him if there was someone there to help us load the car on the dollie he said no ..watch the video on u tube. But when we showed up he did help us through it. My truck had empty Mcdonald cups in it behind the seat. And I had to put 100 dollars in gas as soon as I left the.lot. having to drive 70 mile just to pick up trucks was inconvenience especially when I placed a order to pick up 21 days earlier form my hometown. Lost time paid extra money on gas. Had to reschedule movers help at last minute because 1 truck was not available. Put us behind on our arrival in new state.. don't promise trucks to people if they are not available. You should have people who work for uhaul in their locations who bring truck to rentals spots for customers so they do not have to drive to go get them. Moving is alot and having to drive that far to get a truck was not cool. Not every household has man to drive. It was just me and my daughter and she was not thrilled about driving that monster 26. If it would have been I town I would have only had to get a ride there to pick up. Just not real happy about my latest experience. Also the trucks smells from cigarette smoke. Gross

My whole rental experience was a disaster. It started two days before I was to pick up truck and I was told there is no truck available. For the next two days it was one thing after another. I spent several hours trying to resolve issue after issue. Using the app to pickup/ drop off a truck does NOT work like uhaul says it will. Every time I called customer service for help I was on hold 15-20 minutes only for that person to transfer me to someone else and another 15-20 minute wait. Then that person couldn't help and had nothing resolved. Finally went to a uhaul for help and the field manager there was at a loss too. Somehow, my reservation had it that my rental was for January 1, 1753!!!! I could go on and on with things that occurred over the 3 days but I don't want to waste more of my time. I can't believe that uhaul, as a company, is run this way.

When a 26 ft. truck is promised, and being told you can only have a 10ft. truck when you show up is horrible. It takes twice the trips and twice the mileage. And I didn’t get reimbursed for the mileage. I started trying to rent a truck in one town. Four days before the move, I was told they would not have the truck. U-haul said my truck would be in another town 30 miles away. Two days before the move, u-haul called and said there would not be a truck there. So they told me to go to another town ,in the next state 45 miles away, and that I would get a. 26ft. truck for $19.95 a day. When I got there I was told that there was only a ten foot truck, take it or leave it. I really needed to move, so I took it. I ran out of time and I will have to rent another truck to finish moving. U-haul won’t reimburse me the mileage for having to drive further to get and return a truck. They don’t reimburse for all the extra miles because of having a smaller truck. I felt like I was scammed. It was an expensive lesson. Buyer beware!

The location was a bit hard to find because the business that Uhaul partners with has two locations in town. Maybe being a bit more specific with the location pick up location in the initial email might help.

Charged for dolly that was not provided numerous hidden fees. Cleaning fee ? Requested local provider had to go 40 min from home to pick up so additional mileage fees. Pad rental ?

There was a problem with the gas cap. They are aware of it but the truck is never there to service it. Business is good esp this time of year and month. It didn't affect the function of the truck.

McCann’s rep was rude and condescending. Cell service at location poor. Online pickup does not notify the buyer, in clear and straightforward language, that the pickup time is a deadline and if your not there at that time the reservation expires shortly after. Took 2.5 hours on being out on hold to get rectified and a truck secured. Will NEVER rent from U-Haul again!

Have the truck that was requested available when the customer picks it up. Not have it full of mud and then put them two hours behind schedule and end up being forced to take a smaller truck because the one requested wasn’t cleaned in time.

Person helping there wasn't able to use the mobile check in option and it took twice as long to pick up our equipment. I was forced to answer questions and provide information that I had already provided during the reservation process.

Truck had trash in the cab. Milage was incorrect and I had to refute. The issue was resolved in a couple days, but it still stressed me out having a charge $350 over what it should have been

Remove snow from the hood. I took pictures. Directed to go through a snowdrift at got stuck in the parking lot. Box had dirty slush and cigarette butts. Charged us for $7.50 in gas. We brought it back with more gas than we left with.

During the checkout process I noticed someone had recorded that my beginning mileage was 20 miles less then what it actually was, costing me almost 20 extra miles in gas fees. Upon arriving I was told the truck I had reserved a couple days prior got stuck in the snow at the pickup location just prior to me arriving so I was given an unnecessarily bigger truck to drive on the slick roads all day. All in all poor experience. Will not be returning and plan to warn others of my experience

The guy at the pickup location was constantly answering the phone while checking me and the person in front of me in. He wasn’t very friendly and didn’t apologize at all either. It took way longer than it should have. He never asked me about extra insurance (which I didn’t select during my online reservation) but I just signed where he said and now I see that it is on my bill. Very frustrating and this still wasn’t as bad as my drop off.

We were very happy with the overall experience but the U-Haul we had was not cleaned. There were tissues in the glove compartment and writing all over the inside of the box.

No issues with the local site, but issues with the corporate reservations services. On the front end, they had me running to multiple locations. They "gave me" extra miles, and provided discount, only to add back on at the end. I disputed with a customer service rep that promised I would receive a call in 3 days. It has now been 18 days. I have spent multiple hours on the phone and am very disappointed.

Location is way out of the way. The other location was right on the edge of town. Also, when dropping off later that night, no lights or anything. Complete darkness trying to find drop off box. Put up a light for at night!

I made my reservation well in advance to have a certain size truck. 4 days prior to my move date I was notified that the truck that I needed wasn't available. I was forced into taking something smaller which costed me more money by taking more trips. I will not be using this company in any future moves or recommend them. Customer service was horrible with this company!

Complaints No lock to lock the U-Haul as we stayed overnight somewhere several nights in a row. How could we protect or stuff? Charge me for the $40 blanket that I never reserved as well as appliance dolly The taxes not included in the price when I reserved, it probably be nice to figure in an extra $130 minus the insurance. Airbag light was on the whole time Never have I ever had to push the gas pedal so much in my life to the floor just to go 65. With that it overheated three times.

The truck I ordered week ago was not at the location I selected. I was called and said they couldn’t find it. I was then told I could drive two hours away to a different location to get the truck size I needed. Horrible service you should have driven the truck to me. The truck was also filthy and wet inside. I had to clean it out before using.

When my order for a certain truck was setuched twice they forgot to put my appliance dolly in the truck with caused a lot of extra running around and stress. The gentleman on the phone seemed to rush me off instead of checking if I had questions before closing the call which was also frustrating for me.

At this point I would not recommend ANY U-Haul location to anyone. To have someone call from another location saying another day's rent was due when she had no details of the rental, and then do it in such a demanding way! I am done with U-Haul!

I don’t understand the complicated process of trying to rent a vehicle The stress of not even knowing until the day before we were moving if we would have a truck was awful Yes we got a truck and yes it was only a hour away but we were told there were no guarantees HOW far we would have to travel

The person who processed this rental was simply the rudest, most unprofessional person I have ever encountered. His irritation was evident almost immediately. He told me he needed an alternate name and number for the rental. I asked him why he needed it. Depending on the answer, I might have given him a different name. For example, a person at the originating location vs a person at the destination. Already agitated, he exclaimed, "Because the computer says so!". He then told me I'd be turning the trailer in at a location different than the one I specified online. Additionally, he insisted that I had not yet made payment, even though I had already done so online. We argued about those two things for a little while. He eventually changed the turn-in location back to the one I had originally specified. At that time, he still had not acknowledged that I already made payment. We got to the part where he asked me to initial that the rental was clean and in good condition. I told him that I wanted to take a look at it before I did so. He did not accompany me to the trailer. He just gave me the serial number and let me find the trailer out on the lot. By the time I came back from inspecting the trailer, he was really angry. He gave me the contract to sign. I started to read it when he yelled something like, "It's just a (profanity) contract. You act like you've never seen one before. Just hurry up and sign the (profanity) thing." I told him I had the right to read a contract before signing it. At this point he said, "For a (profanity) trailer?) I said, "Apparently you've never had a problem with a rental contract before". He said, he had not, and that HE didn't have time for me to sit there and read the whole contract. He also threatened to cancel the rental, "If I didn't want the (profanity) thing". I should note that at that time, he had no other customers and it was at least an hour before closing time. I have no idea why he was in such a hurry. Not that it should matter, but the reason I wanted to read the contract was in part, to verify that he had changed the turn-in location back to the one I specified online, that it reflected that payment had already been made, and that the insurance I had selected online was reflected in the contract. He took up more time yelling at me than it would have taken for me to just read the contract. The only thing I actually got to verify before leaving the store was the turn in location because at that point, he was so hostile, I simply wanted to get out of the shop with the trailer. I will never use this location again.
