Douglas TAccording to the location, there was something going on with the U-Haul system that contributed to it taking forever to check out the trailer. It took 2 1/2 hours from start to finish to check out a small trailer! My help loading things up left and I ended up not having enough time to load everything up before my move that afternoon, and paid an extra $345 rent because I wasn’t able to get things moved out in time. When I dropped it off the agent at the location was having a hard time again getting me checked in amd said there was a problem. I couldn’t wait because I had my family with grand babies waiting so I had to unhook and lift the trailer off myself, then I went in and told her I was leaving. She said she had to help with another return first (who came in after me). I told her I had to go and walked out. By the time I took off me hitch she came out and looked and saw it looked ok and I left. Apparently the owner or manager who knew the system was gone, but the people there weren’t very familiar with it. If the owner was there I may have received better service and rated it higher. He should be able to leave but the people he left in charge needed to he better trained and/or the issues with the u-haul system need to be resolved. Please reimburse me the $345 and refund my rental. Also, the trailer was very dirty. I had to clean it out before I could load. The door kept sticking and I had a very difficult time getting it open. Regarding the last question, I would not recommend U-Haul to a friend. I had a very different experience at Penske. So much better there!! do you equipment was clean and worked well, and everything was ready to go when I arrived.
