When i arrived there was only 1 employee working. She was trying to process my rental and work the convenience counter at the same time. The process took very long. When I asked the owner if there would be someone to help me load my vehicle on the vehicle transporter, he said no, he was heading to Halifax. He said he would print me off instructions. At the end of the checking in process he handed me a stack of papers and said good luck. If he is the owner of the location and is renting out Uhauls I find it hard to believe that he would plan to go to Halifax on the busiest day of the Month. Du to the fact that I was by myself, I had no one to help me load my vehicle on the transporter, and had to drive to New Glasgow and back. I am very unhappy with how I was treated. I should have went with a bigger truck and went to OCR. At least there would have been someone to help me!! You need to have a discussion with the owner and express to him its not a good idea to head leave the site on the busiest day of the Month.Harvey B.

It took me 45 minutes to make a simple pick-up of a trailer. The issue was not with the location but the new software system rolled out by U-haul. After three attempts on the system in the store I finally had to complete the process on my phone. Even after that the system would not allow a credit card payment so I had to use cash. This was a brutal experience and it will be a long time before U-haul sees my business again. Lucky for me, there are other competitors I can go to for rentals.Bruce C.

Make sure the person who is in charge of renting u-haul equipment, understands English, speaks clear English, and knows how to write up the transaction. Also ask a client if they want insurance before beginning the paper work not at the end. I was delayed getting the equipment for almost an hour.Phillip C.
No washer fluid and they tried to charge us two day when we had it for a day really not happy didn't take the 25 off for cleaning the backleroy T.

Mirror was broken, which made driving dangerous. Wipers did not work adequately. One wiper appeared to be too small. Truck leaked and things got wet Window on passenger side did not work AC did not work consistently Staff were not knowledgeable with the registration/ rental process. The location was fine but it was not my first choice. I booked a trailer at another location and was shocked when they called me (three weeks after I booked, and only a couple of days before my move) that they could not provide me with the trailer I booked. They offered me a much bigger one instead, but it was not what I wanted. I thought when I booked something, it was actually reserved for me...I ended up having to make many phone calls and spend a lot of time on hold to get this sorted out. What does it mean to have a reservation, if they can just change it on you?LOUIS R.
The person serving didn't know ANYTHING about U Haul. She 'suggested' that she call someone for help. She did and directly pass the phone to me...They took my credit card information. Didn't give a receipt to say that I paid or a contract or anything. The Trailer was OPEN, in the rain, full of junk that we had to clean and we had to take cables from another trailer for the light because there was none on ours.... Didn't answer any of our questions about the drop off, They sent a link that didn't work, even 24 hours after. So what to do hey! So we dropped it off the next day, on Sunday, it was closed.. (Because we didn't even know for how long we could keep it, with no paper or info, we made sure to bring it back in 24 hours not to be charged for anything more). so still no idea what to do. we parked it there, took pictures for us to prove that we did drop it off (in way better condition then we got it) So Now what... Do they check if they got new trailers in the yard? We have no clue because we have no info from people that our suppose to help us.... but WE did our part and more..Andrea S.

There were three keys given, only one worked which we found out while stopping to gas up. Upon drop off the Fredericton location immediately removed the two keys that didn't work so as not to confuse whoever took the truck next time.Sharon I.
The location is not shown properly on Google Maps. Contacting them via phone rectified the situation. Friendly folks and a prompt pick up was achieved. I believe that Google Maps accepts updates to improve location accuracy.robert G.

The trailer tongue rested on the ground. No way to jack it up to get on my hitch. Had to wrench and put a person at the rear to lift it. Ridiculous way to rent equipment. I see why the bad reviews. I assumed it would be like at other locations where you back on and hook on. If I had been alone, I would have had to leave without it.michelle S.

The owner of the establishment was not present at the time of pick up and the woman at the counter offered no help to install the trailer to the hitch. Therefore we did our best and took the trailer home to load. After loading, the trailer seemed very low to the ground. We stopped back and the owner was present and told us that the hitch had been installed incorrectly by U-Haul in Dartmouth. He told us to drive to the nearest auto mechanic because he couldn't help us. So we did and thank goodness the mechanic was a nice man and used his air jack to hoist the trailer up, disconnect the trailer and re-install the hitch correctly. Of course we had to pay for the service. Our experience with U-Haul in Lunenburg was horrific and the Dartmouth location also was terrible because they installed the hitch backwards. We would have forgiven this if the Mikes Kwik Way location had been helpful. You should NEVER allow a customer to leave U-Haul without having a qualified technician attach the trailer or at least be on hand to review. The consequences could have been deadly if we hadn't taken initiative to solve the mistakes U-Haul made.Matthew E.

Drop off was okay though again we had to wait for a uhaul rep to arrive at the store for return. We also had to fill the tank more since the contract showed we got it half full and not below half which it was. Otherwise worker was friendly and helpful which was great.Heather H.

There was no instruction how to hook up the trailer or how to load the vehicle.THOMAS D.
1. We ordert 2 doozen blankets to cover our furnitures and only one doozen was available. 2. The cargo light was not working, so we couldn't load after 6:00 pm. Cost us an extra day of loading. 3. The key on the driver door was not woking, couldn't open the door. Had to climb always over the passenger seat. This is a big safety concern. What happen if I have an accident ? 4. The cargo box was leaking. Water was dropping in from the top and on several areas on the floor were laeking. 5. This vehicle suppose to be a fuel efficient. We used 30 to 35 L per 100 km, rediculous ! Due to not receiving the 2 doozen blankets we ordert and due to the water leaks in the cargo bax, we sufferd quita a damage on our furnitures, The cargo lights were not working and the door key was not working. By renting an U-Haul truck I expect to have it in inspected and safe conditions. I drove almost 7250 km with an unsafe vehicle which obviously was not maintanced or serviced as it should be. I paid $ 6373,30 for the rental, so I should receive a good service for that. Haven't received the service for the money I paid, bringing me in danger with driving an unsafe vehicle, I expect a compensation from U-Hall of at least 50% of my rental fees.Thomas D.
I called ahead and asked if the truck was ready, was told it was. Got there and it was covered in snow, needed windshield washer fluid, the back door was frozen shut, needing a hammer to open it.We had to gas up as there was a discrepancy in what was stated on the slip and what was actually in the tank and add washer fluid. The owner put the wrong name on the receipt although he had my license in his hand. Therefore the cheque for the deposit needed to be reissued. Poor customer services from Mikes Kwik Way. It was as if we were an inconvenience to his day. I would not recommend this location to anyone based on this experience.Chad N.

Lots of room to drop off two wheeled car dolly and drive off towed vehicle, this location even had a gas station with the best price around at $1.11 L and a convenience store & restaurant, highly recommend, it made the trip from Ajax, Ontario, Canada to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, USA a great experience and the hook up and use of the dolly was easy and as U-Haul states don't attempt to back up as you have two axis points, one on the ball and one one the trailer so it is very hard to have both axis points turn in same direction. I was able to do a slow back up of about 15 feet.GEORGE B.
When we picked it up the person working couldn't find a record of the rental agreement we had filled out online. When it was finally found, half an hour later, they had no idea what we had rented, tried to charge more, gave us the wrong keys twice. I wouldn't say it was a good experience, we were late getting going which set everything back during the day. We have used uhaul in the past and been happy with the service, but not this time.LAMAR E.
