Store owner had recently purchased the business. He was not very familiar with the rental process, or with car transport hookup, but did his best to assist us. He did ask us to contact him when we arrive home so he would kniw we made it safely.

First and worst, major confidentiality violation that is absolutely illegal. This store has a handwritten form for you to put your name, move to, move from, phone AND ALL YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO. They were out of blank forms SO THEY GAVE ME ONE ALREADY FILLED OUT BY A PREVIOUS CUSTOMER. I HAD ACCESS TO ALL OF HIS INFO!!!! They were not accustomed to the software and I had to walk them through it in some places even though I had never used it. They gave me a truck with the check engine light on and insisted that I use it. I refused. They said I wouldn't be responsible if it broke down but refused to give me anything in writing plus I was not willing to be put in a position were I might break down with all of my daughter's belongings and no way to finish the move. It took an hour and a half before I could leave with a truck that I felt safe in. No one even knew what the insurance covered. Not even this Nic guy that they had to call repeatedly with questions. But they sure were willing to sell it.

My reservation was for a 15 foot truck to be picked up at noon. They called the day prior to inform me that they would not have that size, but had upgraded me to a 26 foot truck at no extra charge; not ideal but manageable. What I was not informed of was they also changed the pick up time to 2pm and changed the drop off location. The store was supposed to be open at noon, but after waiting 45 minutes I left, and returned at 2. Not impressed to say the least.

The posted hours on the door for Saturday are 8am-7pm. I contacted the store 2 days prior to confirm my scheduled pickup and they informed me their "self service key lock" was not working so I would need to pickup the key from the agent inside at 8am. I was at the store waiting from 7:45am-9:35am when the store finally opened. I was informed the owner and the employee were driving to work together and their car overheated which is why they were late. 1 hour and 35 minutes late is unacceptable and I had movers waiting which I had to pay for the delay caused by your company. The uhaul store smelled of cigarette smoke and there were signs that the employees smoke inside of the store while conducting business. I am so highly dissatisfied with Uhaul accepting this behavior from one of their dealers. I felt I deserved a reduced rate/discount of some kind but the store was unwilling to oblige. Please consider making this right somehow. The dealer needs to be held accountable for their actions in delaying my service and smoking cigarettes inside a store with your name on it. Thank you.

The pick up store opened late. They did contact me and let me know which I really appreciate, but it held up the movers we had contracted. We were already on our way to pick up the truck so we had to wait around. The person who contacted me was very apologetic.

The only issue i have is I was told if the vehicle was turned in a day early I would get a credit for using only one day of a two day rental. After calling U-haul today(10-26) I found out on a 'one-way' rental there would not be a credit. I will definitely take that into consideration before selecting U-haul.

Picked up the first trailer but the lights did not work. employee spent time trying to fix but couldn't. had to wait on a second trailer about 45 min. when I went to use the lift door , it was very stiff.. recd a small cut on my hand.. opening and closing the door during our use was very hard.. door did not want to close enough. Terrible equipment ..

There was a sign on the door they would be right back because they went to the bank. That sign was up for over five hours as we went back there numerous times. We finally dropped it off and did a mobile check out

Worst experience ever! Dealing with Uhaul. I've never had to use this service, but sure I never will again. The pickup time was supposed to be at 12 at Mattress Goddess in waynesville, NC. Got there at 12 and they didn't have the trailer. Then he sent me to Canton, NC to Ryno to get the trailer. (25 minutes away) So we get there and they don't have a trailer either. So, then we are sent to Sylva, NC. So, finally 2 hours later, 75-80 miles, and half tank of gas we got to pick-up trailer.

I reserved a 26 ft uhaul truck 2 weeks in advance. I had received confirmation emails and texts on my reservation. I arrived on my reservation day at the designated pickup location and was told that the truck I reserved had been delivered to another location, 5 miles away. After 2.5 hours, I left and went to the other location to pick up the truck. When I arrived, the lady told me that she did not have a 26 ft truck available. I spent another hour there and I was told that my truck was at another location! I did not have time to go anywhere else. I had movers waiting on me and half of the morning had been wasted. So, I decided to rent the 20 ft truck and uhaul was nice enough to give me a credit on my rental. Overall, my experience was horrible. There is no organization with this company. I would not recommend uhaul for your moving needs.

The woman running this location didn't really seem to care one way or the other. She had no hand trucks to rent, her printer didn't work so she could not give us a copy of the contract - told us we'd have to get it from UHaul and was generally short and rude. The only good thing I'll say about her is she's better than Pearson Roofing which is the alternative and even worse.

So if you want to hear the complete story or even if ANYONE READS THESES the customer service was horrible and she was more interested in her smokes then she was helping me and judging by my phone and bank account it looks like she screwed me. Horrible experience.

As mentioned above the pick up lady said I would get a refund the drop off lady had no idea what to do. There was no one there to help me off load trailer and she did not even check the equipment for damages.

When I entered the building, the lady behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me (I was the only customer there), the store was very dark & I could hardly breathe with all of the cigarette smoke (I have severe breathing problems). When the employee came outside to check the truck in, he wouldn't even talk to me or look at us & my husband and I were standing right there. I will not go there again!!!

U-Haul Contract 95752473 This gentleman didn't even show me how to hook up the trailer to my truck or how the car gets secured to the auto hauler trailer. He helped a little but not very much. Didn't check lights or anything else. Pretty much left me on my own. Your traffic department has the worst customer service. They changed my pick up location without my consent. I went from driving 5 minutes to 25 min to pick up the trailer. The new location in Canton NC said they were open 12-3 and it wasn't. I was 45 minutes late arriving and he decided to close. When I contacted the owner he told me would not return to open his shop and to contact U haul customer service. That caused me to change my pick up location again. I had to drive another 25 minutes to Sylva NC in the opposite direction from Waynesville.

You charged an extra 14.00 dollars for something called "safe move " when no one asked if I wanted that coverage. THAT SUCKS!!!

Place wasn't open, we were told from a neighboring business that no one showed up for work today. We were able to drop off but it took forever because we weren't familiar with the process and had to take so many photos etc. Not the dropoff we had anticipated!

Initial location of pickup was Meineke in Sylva, NC at 8:30. Got there, and no one was there. Logged into Uhaul account via phone and began step by step process to get vehicle. The vehicle we were supposed to get was not there. Instead of there being some sort of direct line to let Uhaul know and find out what we should do, the app told me to keep looking. We had to call national Uhaul customer service and were on hold for close to 30 minutes before we heard a person. This person asked us about our situation and then hung up on us. So we had to call back and wait another 30 minutes on hold. We were finally put through to someone, told them our situation and were passed on to 2 more people where we had to re-explain the situation. The final person we talked to was someone named Nick who actually tried to figure out what to do and was genuinely concerned that our truck was not at the pickup location. He searched the area and found the nearest soonest place we could pickup a truck, and this was at 12PM (3.5 hours after our initial planned time). He offered a $50 rebate which I have not seen at this time. We got the truck at the Mountain Country store and the guy there just told us to leave the key in the box when we were done. No other information was provided and he was not very helpful in answering our questions or concerns regarding the situation earlier in the morning. We were able to move within our time frame and returned the truck and keys as instructed. We got home 1 hour later and I checked my email and there was an email saying I needed to check in my vehicle using my phone and take pictures of it, the driver, etc. or I would be charged extra for turning it in late. By this time it was dark out, the location was far away. Back on customer service line again, another 15 minutes of my life wasted listening to the audio recording me prompting me to leave a review. Overall, very frustrated and disappointed with the experience. It seems crazy that Uhaul would rely so heavily on this online check in process, yet send no information to prepare the driver regarding use of this app and use during check in/out. And then, if there is a situation like ours where the truck is missing, not have a direct line to solve the problems in a timely manner. I am a young technologically savvy individual, I cannot imagine an older person trying to deal with this app. Will not use Uhaul again and will recommend against this company and share my terrible experience with others. Still waiting on that refund.

original place I was suppose to go get truck it didn't come in. uhaul sent me to a place that said they didn't rent anymore yet a lot full of trucks there. Mountain Country Store was awesome and did all they could to help.

The guy didn't go over anything just printed the contract and asked for a signature. There was crapy repair done on the truck where water could leak in with no warning (written on the back of the contract). Some of our items were damaged due to this.

This particular location was not the closest one to the place I was needing it - Western Carolina University. There were a couple other locations that were closer. The lady who helped me was very friendly and courteous.

After going in earlier in the day to tell them that I would be back in three hours to pick up the truck I return to the store not knowing where the key for the truck was. I was there a full hour waiting on them to find a key. The truck had some fast food trash in it when I opened it. Blankets were left in the trailer. When I returned the truck, they wanted to charge me for the blankets that I did not use and asked if I would fold them. I did not get charged and I did not fold the blankets.

The person wasn't very knowlegeable and couldn't find the additional items I rented in the conputer. After waiting around for him to finish the paperwork I had to ask about leaving the trailer. He pointed to a space and said no more. I had to unload the trailer myself from my vehicle. He never came out of the store or offered any help. Never said thank you or anything.

the location was good and the people were nice, but the 1-800-go-u-haul was POOR! the truck we ordered was not avaliable after we pre ordered it a week before the pick up date. Then they called us a day before to tell us that they did not have it. They gave us a smaller truck and a really small trailer. We had no choice but to drive an hour out of our way to pick up these items. Then when we loaded the truck and trailer they were not big enough. I called the 1800 number and they found another trailer for me to pick up. I had to rent another truck so i could pull the 2nd trailer. Then i had to return the truck 3 hours away. I have used uhaul many times and i have told my family and friends about your services, and i will not be using or recommending your company ever again. I asked for a discount for everything i had gone through, but uhaul though $10.00 should be enough... I am not happy about how I was treated by u-haul!
