One quick comment about this truck. The back panel door cables on the left side were messed up. It made it difficult to shut the door and latch it properly because the door would not come down all the way flush with the bottom. Needs adjusted for the next customer.Steven Alan C.

I booked everything online back in January so I also blame the website. My pickup location changed days before I was supposed to pick the truck up. This changed my plans for the time to meet my friends and start. Also, I would like to add that the original location was closer to my storage facility, so I had a further drive, essentially adding miles to this very unpleasant experience. I had to call a phone number when I arrived because unfortunately I needed to purchase boxes, I was told "I am helping a customer, I will be as soon as I can". I waited over 20 minutes... long story short, more customers arrived, she became "overwhelmed", I honestly do NOT blame her at all for anything. I blame U-HAUL, the reason that I needed, again, to be delayed was because she was trying to hook up a trailer for a customer, who Im pretty sure was dissatisfied also, and something was wrong with your hitch. When she finally arrived, the computer that she needs to run your business, is freezing up and not letting her see things in a timely matter. She hands me a contract for the truck, I immediately see that it claims, I need to return the truck by Thursday at 8am but how can this be? I used your site to book my trip, I needed to pick it up on Monday in New Jersey, load everything into the truck, pack the truck, Monday into Tuesday, sleep (I thought it was a good idea), and than drive 10hrs to West Virginia, have movers come and help me, and return your truck at 5pm Thursday evening. I used your site to secure movers, I booked them for first thing in the morning Thursday, I brought this to your employee's attention but again, her computer would not allow her to make changes, and may I add how many customers were now behind me trying to get their days accomplished. I needed a totally separate order for my boxes. I was charged and extra $100 as a deposit because of it being a debit card after several increases in the final total to rent your truck to begin with. The equipment I ordered to help me and my friends was not on the truck (utility dolly), I was told "Oh, we don't have any of them here" but I was charged for it. Unfortunately, because I have depended on this all going as planned back in January, none of this could be changed or fixed at that moment. Looking back now, I should have walked out and went somewhere else. Everything else went as planned, I was happy and satisfied that I made it safe in a vehicle that I have never driven before, my movers were amazing and than I went to U-HAUL again. The man that greeted me there was rude, the only rude person I have ever met in West Virginia. Took the keys and was getting ready to close the account. As soon as I mentioned the $100 deposit he decided to play dumb, actually said to me "well, I have no idea why you needed a deposit?" With a couple of key stokes he insulting said "oh, it's because you used a debit card", he clicks away on the computer a little more and runs outside. Since I again had a while to waitI, he was very thorough and obviously needed to finish his cigarette, I read a sign that someone took the time to print out but obviously he hasn't had the time to read, that clearly states "there will be a $100 charge to anyone using a debit card or paying cash". He returns and says "well, you are only getting back $29.26, you are late and you went over your miles". The gas gauge was one space over a quarter of a tank when I picked it up and when I returned it, it was a quarter of a tank. He charged me for three gallons of gas, seriously? I was charged $14.00 for coverage, of what? I already paid for every coverage option that I was offered when I picked it up. I was charged $40 for an additional day but I booked online and put 5pm as my return time, again, not sure how I could return it at 8am when the movers weren't getting there until 9am unless I unpacked it myself but then why would I need movers? Hum,.,. I was charged for extra miles, 15 miles, yes... driving from Glassboro, NJ (by the way, was supposed to be Williamstown, NJ), to Winslow, NJ (Storage), back to Williamstown (to sleep), to West Virginia (my home is almost an hour from the closet drop off for the U-HAUL), to Charleston, WV and I went 15 miles over... oh, and treated unsatisfactory the entire time from your company. I will never rent from you again, I will never recommend U-HAUL.Michele S.

The only issue is when you extend another day online they charge 30.00 fee to extend it plus you rental..they don't tell you that on line and you pay double for an extra day...they need to be more clearer...SEANA RUTH H.

When I picked up the truck there was dirty items and dirt- cig butts in the bed of the truck turned out to be dirty underware in the bed. The truck was loud the dispatch person seemed to not even care. I got the truck loaded and went on my way got about 16 miles out of Charelston and the check engine light comes on so I called it in had to wait an hour for service- they tell me the catalytic converter was gone- and I would have to get another truck, local rental no help with getting truck back or reloaded REALLY - I had to pay 440 for temp help to come and unload and reload and 140 for a hotel for the night that along with the other issues made for a great experience. Tried to drop off uhaul unit at one location but was told they could not take it unless a big charge would be incurred as their location was not on the contract as drop off point - however, they directed me to Mr Rogers as they would take it .. took the unit there and agent didn't look at contract or anything, just said the keys would identify the Unit and thanked me .. day later learned I had been charged $170.00 for wrong drop off location ... had to explain to agent there was NO UHAUL business at location printed on original contract .. I could not make the agents at both the pick up location or the drop off location understand there was NO uhaul business as printed on the original contract. I was very frustrated .. and if I have need of a rental truck, van, whatever, it will not be through Uhaul - I'll pay more and use Penske.GREGORY W.
Representative told me that vehicle had been sanitized. It was filthy and smelled bad. Dirt, crumbs and cigarette ashes on seats and floor. Cargo area of van was dirty also. We wiped it out ourselves and sanitized before leaving.James Cheetwood S.
