Mobile app was a total disaster. It refreshed every time I needed to look up something else on my phone and I had to restart reservation from the beginning. After the reservation on the app I was asked to verify myself, and I put down my wife's phone number. She got a text, informed that someone will phone her shortly, but no one has phoned her in 3 days since. Just to make sure they got my reservation, I went in the store a day before picking up the truck, and found out that the rep in store was not trained enough to help mobile reserved orders either, as she could not tell me how exactly I will get the code to the lockbox to get the key. And as expected, I never got the message with the code in it, so I had to phone into customer service for help. I was going to pick up the truck at 8 am, but did not get the key until almost 9 am. Returning vehicle was equally difficult. It asked me to take pictures, but then rejected multiple times, and even logged me out at the end, so the rep in store had to manually help me with the returning process. Overall speaking, great vehicles, equipment all well maintained, and all staff were very eager to help. However the mobile app is straight up horrible to use, and hopefully in store staff could get adequate training on that too, for at least I didn't get the help I was looking for.

Ahmad MoradiOne of the poorer trucks rented, I have come across and it’s not even one of the diesel ones. Engine check light was always on. Safety belt sensor kept going off randomly while driving. Parking brake handle release look like it was going to break off. Fuel meter gauge seems like it wasn’t giving the right reading.

vivekkummaz savaliaThe instructions for pick up are not clear, we went to the address and there’s not parking available on the street, then to find out that you have to drop off on the back of the building. The area is not nice and there was only one person available at the grocery store. She was doing everything on her own that we decided just to go out and complete the drop off through the app.

Damon KronykEverything went as your business hopes it would. I appreciate that online check in is very efficient and profitable for your company. But … if this is how the service will be delivered, then it must be almost flawless. The lockbox did NOT work well. We spent almost 20 minutes trying to open it in aggregate. That is super frustrating.

Hao HouChose 24/7 pickup for 8:30am (store doesn’t open until 10:30am). Got to location at 9:15am and the 24/7 had not been set up properly so couldn’t access truck. Called 1-800 number for Uhaul and agent got the problem fixed and gave me a direct 604 number to call if I encountered any further problems. Had to call that number at 9:45am when the lock on the lockbox wouldn’t open (so I couldn’t get the truck key). Was told there was nothing he could do and I’d have to wait for the store to open. Waited until 10:45am and store was still not open so called the 604 number again - no answer. Tried again 10 minutes later, still no answer. It was now 11am and I had been sitting in the parking lot for nearly 2 hours. I decided to try the lock again - it was basically an old rusty lock that took a very strong guy 5 minutes to pull extremely hard and maneuver to open. I finally had access to the truck…but had just wasted 2 hours trying to get it! Obviously had planned around the use of the truck that day, and had people waiting. NOT impressed!

Philip BroadheadMalfunction lock on the key box, took a time to open. Truck cabin was a bit dirty. No instruction how much fuel needs for refill, I called hotline and they also haven't know this information. Thw truck was 10' GMC.

ANDY SIMOESIt was a surprise to me that I was charged more for gas than what I had originally picked up. A lot of misleading information and was surprised to see the bill at 162.00. Way above my budget. I was not happy when I was told the amount.

JAY WHITFORDBecause this was my 1st rental from U-haul, in quite a long time. I wanted everything taken care of. I applied on-line, which seamed seamless, especially when my cell phone was approved, and my credit card. Sadly, I did not recieve a confirmation text, and upon inspection of the vehicle the day before, found it parked too close to a garbage bin, and plastered in raw egg. Phoned the 1-800 # and talked to head office, they said to book another truck in case the 1st one was not suitable for my use. Never saying anything about cancelling 24 hrs;' before 'that' rental. I stuck with original rental and did cancel the 2nd reservation on-line, but again did not receive a return text. Guessing had I cancelled on my phone all would have gone smoother. I was informed I would be charged a $50.00 fee for the 2nd reservation after finding out that my original reservation was being used the day before and would be cleaned up etc. A bit of confusion on the day of my rental, but lessons learned for next time. The location is perfect for work, where I can safely park my car etc, and walk over to location for rental etc. Making it plain that all reservations must be made by cell phone and not on-line [laptop] would have made my experience much more satisfying. Other-wise all the operators I talked to were helpful and the pick-up location was courtious and helpful as well. Even managed to return early and reduced some costs. Warren C

Charlie YuUhaul app was absolutely terrible and took 3 representatives to actually get the online verification to work. Didn't end up getting the truck until an hour after my pick up time. Ended up having to try a few times on a web browser, never got the app to verify the selfie photo.

Andrei SergheevThe lock for the key box was so hard to open. It took me 30mins to figure it out. It needs to pull hard to unlock. The uhaul app was so slow and it freeze then error. I have to sign in again, it end up that i was not able to upload starting fuel level bcoz i was rushing. In the end i have top up more gas.
Rodalyn GoI am never going to use U-hall and I will ask all my friends to do the same until a manager talks to me. We encountered 3 major issues when returning our car and when I finally as put through to a manager and I explained kindly the problem to the manager the manager sudennly hang up on me. I called again, I talked to another manager and after a 2 minute conversation he hang up on me. U-hall phones did not work last night, the Iphone app did not accept my pictures and more....

Henry TungWhen I reserved the truck I exactly took off the safe insurance, I saw it around $36.95 then I pit the order. When I paid the bill the safe insurance came up. The bill is ridiculous! I would not rent a uhaul anymore!
MEI LIANGThe location is good but the truck not. I’d recommend to truck before giving it to your customers. The truck had a crack on the top and the water was coming through and damage all my boxes. I blame my self for to checking it out the truck bit at the same time it should be responsibility of the business not the customers. I still payed full price.

Traian Neacsuthe gas mileage a 10’ truck is supposed to get is around 12 miles per gallon (4 miles per litre), but this truck was doing 1 mile per litre. The only thing we moved with the truck was a king sized mattress. The truck was not even close to fully loaded. I drove 24 miles and it took 25 litres to fill it back to the starting point. Thats 4 miles per gallon. That doesnt seem right at all. Ive never heard of such terrible gas mileage and it ended up costing me a lot of money. It cost me $127 to drive 30K to move a mattress. when the truck is advertised as $19.99 for in-town moves, that seems like false advertising.
Kate FrobeenIt is about my order on August 2nd. I was unable to check in or out the truck online. The same thing happened to me on the rental on July 26. So I was experienced of it. Even I turned on the “location service” on my phone. So when I need to go into the shop (Nuk Bazaar - Burnaby, BC) to pick up my track. As I know my scheduled drop off hour. The shop is closed. So when I pick up the truck I already told the lady that I can’t return the track online. She told me to wrap the key in an envelope and drop off in their front door mailbox. Which is exactly what I did that evening at 6:30pm. Which was only a 3.5 hour rental on the track. They charged me “After shop hour charge” even though I follow the instruction. I called the shop right away when I see the invoice. They denied everything they said. On top they charge me $10 cleaning charge. Reason is they need to sweep out the dust. I was just moving boxes and there’s nothing dirty about it. I feel strongly that the shop just charged people small extra amount and hoping no one complains about it. I definitely very disappointed on my experience this time. I rented the U-haul truck twice within two weeks. What a huge difference on experience on the two different locations.
