I hate that I have to rate the locations. They actually aren't the problem. My problem has been with customer service. The truck I rented broke down. I understand that breakdowns will happen, but the follow through was atrocious. The breakdown resulted in the truck needing to be towed away. Fortunately, I had a family member following in my personal vehicle. So, we made the 186 mile drive home to wait for the truck to get repaired. It turned out that my items needed to be unloaded before any repairs could be made, so a different truck was arranged. This resulted in me needing to take 2 days of vacation to be there for the transfer and to be able to continue my move and the 186 mile drive back down to get the truck. Since U-haul didn't have any drivers available, I had to pick up the replacement truck and drive it to where my broken truck was sitting. That wasn't a big deal, but when I got to the location to pick up the replacement truck, I was informed they didn't have one for me. So, my family member and I got to stand around for 1/2 hour waiting to find out if we made the trip for nothing. Finally, they released a truck to us. When we got to the location of the broken truck, the crew hired by U-haul was there waiting for us, so we thought that was a good sign. Well, it took the crew of 5 an hour longer to transfer my items from one truck to the other (walking directly across the ramp between trucks) than it took the crew of 2 that I hired to load the truck and my crew had to navigate flights of stairs. Not only did it take them longer, but I had to help move the heaviest items, because the 5 guys couldn't do it on their own. Eventually, we were finally able to finish the move. With as late as things had gotten, we unloaded the truck the next morning. Which we did 2 hours quicker than the 5 person crew transferred my items. Granted, we weren't needing to pack and stack items, so that saved us some time, but there were 2 of instead of 5. By the time we finished unloading, U-haul was already calling to see when I'd have the truck dropped off. I let them know it would be back within an hour. We actually had it back in about 1/2 hour. The next day when I checked my bank account, I found out that I was billed for the extra days I had the truck due to their breakdown. I have reached out 3 times to try to get that resolved. When I reached out, I was informed that someone would be in contact with me within 3 business days. It's been almost 3 months since my initial attempt and I still haven't heard from them. Even after reaching out 2 more times and letting them know I was disappointed in the lack of follow-up. It seems pretty obvious to me that customer satisfaction doesn't mean much to them. They were quick to collect money from me, but when they should be reimbursing money they ignore the customer. It's very frustrating to be billed extra for their faulty equipment. The part that failed wasn't a routine maintenance type part, so I wouldn't have held the breakdown against them, if they had treated me fairly. At this point, I would never use U-haul, again.

The lady who hooked up my trailer didn't do a good job of tightening the hitch. My trailer came off the hitch on the way home. VERY DANGEROUS! It's a good thing it was empty and it came off after I got off the Interstate or it could have been a very nasty experience.

Both Representatives were very helpful and knowledgeable. They were busy and working together as a team for a smooth customer experience. They even started truck to warm it up and pulled up our truck. Did a complete walk around. Love it when you get great service like this. Thank You!

I had to pay .40 cents for the extra mile. When technically that was just bringing it to drop it off. I was given 39 miles and it doesn’t take all 39 miles to get to Owatonna from Northfield.

Absolutely nothing keep doing exactly what you guys are doing thank you so much for going above and beyond to help me be able to get access to the U-Haul to be able to move out of our home this weekend the the gentleman that works there was really nice very helpful and was able to move things around to make our moving a lot less stressful with the access to the U-Haul thank you again I greatly appreciate how prompt you guys were how helpful with the process being able to switch things around and accommodate our needs even when it was the tight fit TimeWise you still made it happened

I rented a 6x12 trailer, needing a little over 5ft at the gate to load what I needed. However, despite being advertised as a 6ft wide trailer - which it is at the center of the trailer - the entry/gate portion is less than 5ft wide which prevented me from using the trailer at all.

I was scheduled to dropoff at Faribault, but uhaul switch dropoff location without checking with me. I want my money back or to be paid to deliver your trailer to a location different from the one I agreed too when I rented the trailer. Refund me my money.

In the winter, there is no snow removal so when you drive up to the location, you don't know where the driveway is and might just turn into the curb. Also last September there was a breakin and my unit was broken into. Almost all my stuff was stolen. With all the cameras inside and out, with a security entry pad, the thieves got in. Finally when I moved out, KO refused to return my deposit saying they had no record of my deposit but that's because when I first rented the unit this rental place was owned by a different company and KO purchased the business last year. So all customers who rented from the previous owner will not get back their deposit. NO I will not recommend this location or KO storage.

This was the nicest facility I have dealt with! The phone was always answered when I called, the people were super nice and helpful, the lot was always plowed and accessible in winter and they were willing to remove ice built up in front of my door if I needed to get into my unit. The keypad and security gate were always in working order. I had my items stored there for 3 years and I always felt safe due to all the safety measures in place as well as they were on-site a lot. Best experience I’ve had with a storage facility.
