Okay, the man worker at Penny Pincher was amazing! He was so on top of taking care of my Uhaul rental (even after I waited 30 mins to get my rental). He was not supposed to work that Sunday, but he really took care of me and he worked to get my order partially refunded because the furniture dolly and pads were NOT in my Uhaul rental. So the location was fine, but no one came to help me until 10:40am, 40 mins after my reservation. The guy who helped me was an absolute gem. The Uhaul itself functioned just fine, but it didn't have the supplies I ordered and Uhaul still charged me for it and hasn't refunded me. So overall, the experience was saved by the Uhaul serviceman.Lindsey N.

The customer service rep at the gas station told me that he is not responsible for hocking up the 6X12 trailer I rented to my truck very rude and disrespectful. The worse of all is that after he collected my credit card information. I had to wait for extra 30mins for him to finish serving people coming to buy gas and drinks for him before he had to take pictures of the u-haul. He didn't even open the trailer to inspect inside. He also told me point blank that his location is NOT the typical u-haul facility so in order for him to hook up the trailer to my truck he will charge me additional $25. This turn to a heated argument and luckily a good samaritan was also coming to picking up his rental truck helped me out. I was totally shock at his behavior. So i question him that by law if the trailer is not properly hocked up and cost accident and put others life in jeopardy didn't he know that U-haul will be held responsible.Evans N.

We were told that we had unlimited mileage from Gallup, NM to Seattle, WA on one way rental. Truck was dirty, windshield had not been cleaned, interior dirty. Due to circumstances we had no choice but to take vehicle as no others available. When we arrived, after extending contract for 2 extra days, we were told we had exceeded mileage allowance and an additional $400 + was due. After discussion with receiving allocation and their call to your customer service group we still had to pay an additional $110. Because of a no choice situation, this cost us money we did not expect. We were lied to from start and if this is your way of doing business, we will find a way not to use your company. We also had rented a trailer to take items to Oklahoma in July and had to accept a unit that had a problem with the roll up rear door. Once again no solution to issue, only a take it or leave it. Turn in was easy and quick. The owner took care of me with high priority, some places take better care of the renters, not so much the returns. They also sell really low price gas, which was nice for a big truck! If you are moving from Gallup, I would highly recommend this location!Benard H.

The man at this location told us we would get a refund because we returned our truck early, the lady at the previous location told us they would give us an extra two days because the place we needed to return it to closes on the weekends due to Covid. We returned it early we were not given a refund and they charged us for the two extra days that she said they would give us for free. When we returned it we had to park at our self the man scarcely said hi to us the place was dingy dirty and disgusting and you could barely tell it was any kind of a U-Haul place at all we were lucky to find it.EMILY W.

The rental company refused to disinfect the cab of the truck for corona virus. I had to go home and bring cleaner and disinfect the cab of the truck before I could start my trip. This was at my own time and expense!Terry B.

I was quoted for $19 per day and 59 cents per mile when I talked to someone from U-haul on Tuesday. I got to place where I'm supposed to get the vehicle at 2 p.m. on Friday and was told by the clerk that it was going to cost 99 cents, which was not what the quote was on Tuesday. Upon hearing that the expense had more than doubled, I called U-haul and was set up with 69 cents per mile and was set up with a van. Well, the clerk said there was no van, so I called U-haul again and a deal was set up for 69 cents per mile and a van and the total cost was worked out for $488, which was still more than the original quote on Tuesday, but I took it because I needed a vehicle. If I had known this was going to take an hour and half I would have rented a truck from another company. So, I'm close to two hours late on my trip to Colorado and have to go through La Veta Pass at night instead and encountered a blizzard, which was perilous without saying. So, I'm behind close to four hours late for my destination â€” believe me I can go on and on. Then when I turn in the truck Tuesday, I'm told that I didn't pay for it and it took another hour for the owner of the store and the U-haul person to straighten that out. Needless to say, I'm pissed. I spent two and a half hours in that store straightening out things that I thought had been settled three days before I rented the truck. Moving sucks to begin with, but your company made it one of the worst business experiences I ever had in my life.Daniel M.

I was quoted the price for a 10' truck, and when I went to pick it up, they pulled the old bait and switch, and before I figured out what was going on, I had already been charged for the bigger truck. It was money I could I'll afford. Additionally, the pick up location was not well maintained and full of birds that were for sale. Luckily, it will be a long time before I need a moving truck again, but I will definitely tell everyone I know to avoid this location.Patrick M.
