Place was shut down. We could not get help to check the rental in. Had to rely on the customer service person who was exceptionally helpful.John C.
To start off with I was sent 14 miles out of my way witch was fine because the representative assured me she was adding an extra 30 miles to my trip would've put me at 60 which would have covered me just fine I also asked for an appliance dolly to be added to this order I was assured that both of these things had been done. Neither one had been done on top of that when I got to the location the truck was backed all the way up it was dark very hard to get to which was fine we dealt with that situation pulled off and pulled away as I'm riding. behind my husband the door is up so I flag him down call him. And informed him hey the back door is open at that point we pulled off the road way to close it . At that point we are Pulling on the door and it's not closing I happened to glance over and noticed a blue light I looked down I'm thinking it's a cell phone it's not it's a drug scale and drugs at this time I was completely shook and mortified pushed it out of the vehicle and kept going no I would not recommend this location. It's not a safe or clean Environment to pick up at night.Alexander R.

Place ((Philly cheese steak) and as closed. Person next door said the establishment has been closed for quite a while. When I tried to drop off the keys it were ants all around and it was very uncomfortable. If it was not for the personnel specialist at U-Haul once I called I think I would have been in dire straits. I would suggest that you go and check that location and may consider relocating.Marina G.
Location is in a very unsafe area And was the third location we had to go to and get the wrong size truck because it was the closest place the truck was available after spending several hours on the phone with customer service. Very last minute changes were made to my reservation very inconvenient and pushed back my move a significant amount of time.Amy B.

Thought I did everything online. When I went to receive the truck it took 30 minutes and I was sitting in the deep hood of North Charleston in the rain. I should have been informed of the additional procedures before hand. In the spot we collected the truck it is a lucky we were not robbed, raped or murdered. Happy however my car was not broken into while we we using the truckTyler N.

No onsite staff for afterhours. Shady location at night. App/website was not functioning. Was on hold for 35 min due to high volume calls only to be hung up on. Called back again and was on hold another 30 min to be asked why the app wasn't working - as if I managed the app. Eventually took photos and emailed to phone person. The whole experience has us planning on just paying for a moving service next time.Teresa W.
I booked online for a Friday pickup at a location on Rte. 41. The location was convenient to my work and my home. Days before pickup I received an email that my pickup location had changed to a location approximately 30 miles from my home. The owner at Phillys House of Cheesesteak was very understanding and flexible. She listened to my concerns and addressed them all. I enjoyed working with her. I wish when I booked online I would have been told that the Rte. 41 location didn't have any 10' trucks for one way trips. I found this out when I called after receiving the email regarding the location change. I ended up having to scramble to figure out how to pick up the truck. Thank goodness for friends who are flexible.Todd B.

was routed to this cheese steak place 30 miles from where i secured the reservation. got there and only one employee to assist me while answering phone,cooking and waiting on dining customers. she entered beginning milage incorrect by 8k miles. Still not straightened out.When a truck is reserved it should be available for that location and time slot. Because of the location I was sent for pick up that 30 miles added 2 hours to my travel time. Not a good experience.Connie H.

I was charged in incorrect rate. The associate was leaving when I pulled up so we waited for her to go back inside and power everything on to check us out. She didn't have our reservation in her system, and didn't have all of the equipment needed so she sent us to a separate location to pick up dollies.Sara M.

Best service I have ever had renting a U-Haul. People in the office were extremely nice the truck was clean inside and out. She worked with us and made our move a whole lot easier. I wish all U-Haul dealers were as nice as she was.Nancy P.

The rivers rd location was fine after the initial experience. The ratings above are based on the Dorchester Rd location. Original drop off location off of Dorchester Rd. Refused to accept the Uhaul and I had to call offices to be rerouted across town to drop off. I would suggest the original drop off location no longer be used by UHaulNIcholas P.
Even though truck was already reserved, took over an hour to check truck out because of wifi/computer connectivity issues in business. By the time, I got my phone from car, tried to do an express check out the manager called in and did paperwork from his ipad at home.Debbie C.

The truck was new and everyone we dealt with was helpful. In the future it would be nice to have a confirmation that I was going to have the truck and trailer available to me. I had made a reservation and switched it and then they said it couldn't be confirmed until a few days before I needed it. That made me a little uneasy not knowing for sure if I had a truck or not.Karen W.
Terrible experience. I was over charged Didn't get to get the trailer where I made the reservation. Had to go to N Charleston which was run by 1 woman who was unable to help us get the trailer out of the lot because it was smashed up so close to another trailer. Two by passers had to stop,to help us. She then over charged me but I was too frazzled to dispute it plus I just wanted to get out of that neighborhood. I will never ever go back there againSusan J.
No, I was mislead by the area field manager Javon Williams, who stated I wouldn't be charged additional for dropping it off at a different location. Then I received my receipt today of the additional charges instead of my $41 original charge.Logan B.

The place is a dump! U-Haul would not let us drop off the trailer at the King Street location near our destination, and told us to go here. They did not have any jack to lower the trailer, did not give us a receipt, and had little space to even park the trailer. I still do not understand why we were required to drive 20 miles out of our way to drop off here. Not a happy experience!James B.

Single employee ran both the cheese steak shop and the uhaul pickup. Did not know how to hook up the trailer which ended up damaging my vehicle. None of her technology was made after 2005 so the experience was about an hour long just trying to print out the contract, but her printer was almost out of ink so I was not able to read any of what I was signing off on.kyle Z.

The guy that I spoke to and got my truck in Charleston has the be the best customer service I've ever had. This guy was there from early morning until late in the evening until Incould get there from work. He has the best personality and wanted to make sure I had the best of everything!! He was so good I told him if he ever wanted a second job to come see me. You do not find good employees that care about their customer in this day and time much anymore but this young man was execellent. He is a keeper!!!Teresa D.
