Horrible experience with truck and "road side service"! please read episode with Both Uhaul and attempting to Get Service - Then Service DID NOT! It was the Uhaul truck - and Road Side blamed Customer trailer! See Notes at drop off - WE BOUGHT and BROUGHT a trailer light tester to Prove that UHaul Truck was Not Working Correctly AND That Road side Service DID NOT DIAGNOSIS NOR HELP NOR RESOLVE! Waited 6 HOURS For Roadside! Was at one point told to find My own replacement Truck - on a Sunday (At nearing the 6 hour "wait" for Roadside - that was explained I had to have "diagnosis" before I could get Replacement! Traveled 2800+miles with Safety Issue. Very Uncomfortable. AND TERRIBLE "Assistance"!MARTHA M.
During pick up the service rep was extremely rude. Uncalled for rude if you ask me, when I was just asking simple questions. On top of dealing with her attitude she didn't have a mask on and was eating and touching my credit card and handing it back asking me to now take a picture of it to upload it. Greasy food on her fingers all over my card. I was so disgusted by the service I will do my best to never return to this location again. On top of all that it was raining during check-in and photos were not uploading to the site. When I asked her question and to cover myself she took it offensive and again with the attitude. I opted to not use your insurance coverage which she was clearly pissed off about as well. Took plenty of pics so hopefully that covers me enough.brittany A.

I was provided a utility dolly instead of the reserved appliance dolly and when I received my final receipt I was over charged. The insurance I chose was changed to a higher cost one. Terrible experience! I will rent from Penske next time.Kevin S.
The sales clerk was very rude. She informed me that she doesn't like to let customers use the mobile pick up app because she's had problems with customers before. This was pretty much the second sentence out of her mouth the first one being you need to move your car. I've used a U-Haul a lot for a very long time and never had such a horrible experience. The truck wasn't very clean which is not that big of a deal but the check engine light was on and it felt somewhat unreliable. Overall it was the customer service part that really made it a bad experience.kenneth G.

The woman who works at this location is very rude and shady. She doesn't use the mobile app, so you have to go inside where she insisted I had ordered twelve blankets. I had only ordered a utility dollyâ€”which I had to put in my truck myself. She was able to put a bunch of blankets I didn't order in my truck, but she couldn't put the actual thing I ordered in the truck. She was extremely argumentative and rude. Remove it from the online checkin list. This site does not use the app, which is frustrating but understandable after speaking with the owner. Otherwise, easy to work with and lots of vehicles from which to choose.James O.

Location was conveniently located close to my home to help with the rental. There were some technical issues on the rates that were reserved which caused some delays even though the online "contact-less" check out was completed. The associates at Prime Storage worked swiftly to take care of the rate issue that was due to the order (truck and trailer) being split. Other than that very satisfied with getting the equipment from this location.JOSE A.
Conversely, Edith almost made the entire experience (as a whole) not worthwhile. I did not know that there was a Dropbox for the keys. Her attitude was combative and high strung AT BEST. Headlights did not work so we were highly inconvenienced and had to leave the next morning. I called the pick up location manager and she was more interested in making excuses why this was not her fault than me be inconvenienced. Her customer service skills are atrocious. I asked her about a discount for my troubles and she abruptly told me to "call the 1-800 number".Tim C.

Trailer was great, customer service was horrible. Yelling at us for pulling into the complex the wrong way, very argumentative at the counter, cut us off when we were speaking. She was the prime example of what poor customer service looks like. High unsatisfied.Christopher B.
I bought the hitch at the Uhaul on Virginia Beach Blvd and when I asked the associates there to help me hook it up I was told that the people at my pickup up location on Harpers road will install the hitch for me. When I got to Harpers road the lady there told me that she does not know how to hook it up and that the people on Virginia Beach Blvd where I bought is should have hooked it up for me. Luckily after some waiting a Uhaul associate just happen to came by to pick up a trailer and he helped me hook everything up. The Harper Road associates were very helpful, the Virginia Beach associates were not too helpful on 21 December 2019Natalie H.
Be knowledgeable about the reservation policy and answer the phone when trying to call. I was running late to pick up the U-haul and tried calling multiple times with no answer. When I arrived my reservation had been cancelled. I'm not sure what happened at this point, but when my reservation was re-entered both the pick-up and drop-off destinations were in correct and it was a 2-day rental vice 1-day. Completely different than what I originally booked. I asked if I had to drop it off at the designated location (Maryland, even though I was going to North Carolina) and she said I could do it anywhere. I also asked if I could drop it off early (since my original reservation was 1-day vice 2) and she said I could but I wouldn't get any type of refund for it.Granville J.

Tires not properly inflated (low 20 pounds), two different ratings of tires installed (C & D), old blankets left inside. One tire worn down to tread-wear indicators. Management refused to address any of these issues or contact U~Haul for assistance.Marc B.

The online pricing started at $242, then changed to $252 even though only the $5 Insurance was added. Then I go to make my purchase and it's $277. Apparently this is because of taxes, which is fine, but I'm really tight on money right now and had everything planned down to a T, so this was a problem for me. I don't know their normal hours of operation, but they were closed and opened up so we could pick up our truck. They were closing for the weekend due to a child graduating high school. I was supposed to pick my truck up on Fri, 24 May at 8 AM in Chesapeake, I ended up having to go 20 miles further away to get it because the Chesapeake location was "short handed" so they could not go and get it. Then I drive that far to get it and the 12 moving pads I reserved, they did not have them, so I have to drive back to Chesapeake and now get moving pads from them. The WINDSHIELD WIPER on the drivers side was unusable, the last 6 inches of the blade were hanging off, metal and rubber.bill M.

First--rental agent had absolutely no knowledge of the equipment nor did she seem interested in it. Only seemed to want to rent it and get out of there. Trailer had no tongue jack--extremely heavy and cumbersome to lift tongue and connect coupler to hitch ball as a result. Rental agent had no inclination to help. Second--and most troubling--trailer brake actuator/reservoir had no cap (missing) and was therefore full of water and rusting. No brakes. Really disappointed with this trailer and entire experience. When I returned the trailer, 10 minutes before my appointed time, there was no rental agent there, and doors locked. Finally after waiting 10 minutes, he appeared. Did not want to check trailer over, made no attempt to write any of my concerns down--in fact threw a note pad at me across the counter and told me to write the problems down.
