I did not personally attend in Quesnel as my son-in-law had to pick up the truck. I am 80 years old, living in Prince George and was told on July 28th that the truck would be in Prince George for pickup on August 16. I was not told that I could possibly have to drive 75 miles to get the truck and that I would be responsible to pay for the fuel to drive it the 75 miles to Prince George. Being informed less than 24 hours from pickup time that this is what UHaul expects is completely unacceptable!! My son and daughter have used UHaul equipment several times during the last several years and I can assure you that we will not be using them again. I have made several attempts to gain some compensation for extra fuel costs without success. I have repeatedly been "stone-walled" with "we do not guarantee location" and we 'follow our policies'. Also the supervisor's comment today was 'customers have to drive from Vancouver to Kelowna/Penticton to pick up vehicles and with no compensation'. I was also told that manager from Arizona head office would be contacting me to resolve the situation; but I kept getting "rerouted" to a rep in Vancouver area.DON C.

If I reserve online, it would be nice to have only the need to pick up keys at the location rather than re-do everything via phone. The employees were lovely and trying their best but the system should be streamlined (I realize they have only had the business for two days but this issue occurred last year as well with previous owners). Please begin the rental with a full tank of gas. It is easier to fill to full than to the half-way mark.Tracey D.

The employees do the best they can with a system that does NOT provide any security for the customers. When you reserve months ahead, you NEED to rely on the availability of the requested product. There are many difficult parts to a move and they all rely on the fist step, THE MOVE!!!!Deborah N.

Ask for a safety pin for the trailer and I was told by the attendant that I don't need one as long as it's locked in there's a reason why there's a hole on the top of the tongue where the ball goes on to put a safety pin in case that pops up you're not going to lose the trailer so that was very ignorant on their partsArvin S.
The unit was clean, but not wiped or vacuumed out, just items taken out. The people we dealt with were very confusing, telling us different things and not professional at all. It was a lot of back and forth!melissa P.

I felt uncomfortable when I picked up the U-Haul because the employee left the building to stare at me until I drove away. He assumed that my husband would be driving but when he saw me get in the driver's seat it's like he was expecting me to crash or not know how to drive. I wanted to take a minute to figure out where all the controls were but it was hard to do that with someone staring me down. Well jokes on you man, it's 2022 and women drive now, shocker I know! I drove over 800 km without issue. Also the back of the truck was not swept out when we got it.Rebecca L.

The representation of this location, to the â€œU-Haul Corporation â€œ is very lacking in many ways. The trailer I rented was caked in mud from the previous rental. The operator of this location refused to have it cleaned, said it would be okay to use as it was. Not the way to treat your equipment. Not the way to treat your customers.Moe F.

The service was absolutely terrible, truck was dirty and stuck when I got there. Then after having confirmed a drop off location on my reservation they proceeded to change that making me drive an extra 20km which I'm paying for by the kilometer. And also the second location they chose was closed so I get charged an extra 20$ for convenience fee. Worst rental experience I've ever had. Felt like I was being scammedLevi B.

An instruction /information sheet or help by on site staff. We did not know the side of the vehicle hauled would fold down . It took us about two hours to secure car to the trailer . It would have been so easy if we knew .Elaine F.
There is not a person there to do the rentals. It is all done over the phone from his house. Truck was dirty inside and out and was fuel on empty, and was told it was my responsibility to fill the truck. When I refused to take it and requested to have a clean one the same size, I was told I couldn't have one only that truck. They have you over a barrel and make you take it or leave it. Uhaul doesn't care there public image which sucks. The only good depot they had here closed because they couldn't get any equipment.Ralph D.

I dealt with the Shell dealer direct and he was very good. However I got a call from U-haul in Vancouver suggesting that I get the trailer from another dealer in Quesnel and that they had no record of the dealer I was getting the trailer from. I gave them the address of the Shell dealer, I then got an email from Uhaul, not from the Shell dealer with the wrong trailer size and pick up time. The email directed me to a form regarding Covid asking me to fill it out but I needed a password. I gave up. I am requesting a written reply from Uhaul explaining what was going on as it tainted my experience, through absolutely no fault of the Shell dealer who was very good.. Navjet the guy who assist us is very friendly and very helpful. The U haul that we reserve is unfortunately not available but he step up and manage to do all the hassles for us. This agent is rude, does not look at the reservation and argues, he also says mean things, accused me of lying, does not go over all the terms and conditions and any changes made, changed things after I had left. I would never do business with this guy or U-Haul for that matter after the way I was made to feel as if I was a beggar and U-Haul was doing me a favor.murtaza T.

We arrived and had pre booked the truck still had stuff in it it was filthy and took over an hour to get it from the planes time of pick up I had to travel 12 hours for my move and needed up with having to pay my movers for the time it took extra well they waited I was treated horribly and it was nothing but a gong show horrible horrible exoerimaceNAOMI M.

The young man operating the facility when we picked up the trailer did not know what he was doing so the transaction was completed over the phone with his boss. He did not know how to secure the chains. The lower pair of lights on the trailer were not working; only the upper. Two of the tyres needed to be replaced before we began the journey. We noticed these issues after picking up the trailer. Fortunately the regional office in Vancouver was quick to authorize the tyre replacement.CARL W.

We have to drive a total of almost 4 hours ( 1 hour ad 45 mins each way) to pick up this truck. Which is unacceptable considering I booked this rental 1 month prior. We got a small discount which was barely enough to cover gas for the two vehicles now that gas is over 140c/L. More annoying was cutting into our packing time that cannot be renumerated. Uhaul you need to do better! Will avoid using you in the futureAndrew C.

Enforce no smoking. Previous customers pretty much ruined the interior cab for non smokers. Brutal smelling that for hours. Also drop off was very inconvenient. Had to go well out of my way and pay extra gas costs.JAMES P.

The truck was absolutely disgusting. Cigarette butts all through cab. Drinks spilled in cup holders and on dash and floor. Cab muddy. Cargo area unswept and muddy.dustin M.

I had done online check in and was still at the location for about 1/2 hr. The attendent didn't speak english and when I walked in he immediately called someone else - but didnt indicate that he was calling about the pick up. I had to give all my information again and had to pay more (although I thought I had paid everything online). I tried to acees my account and didnt show I had paid, didnt ahow I had done online check in it was usless for me. I am very disappointed with the whole experience.Janice J.

Location was under construction. Ordered packing supplies on line and location had none. Truck had not been cleaned at all ,cigarette but a and beer cans in the cab. The back if the truck looked like some had been hauling wood in it and the out side was very dirty aswell With COViD you would have hoped that it was cleaned.. But had to take the risk that the last people were not sick.... Real not very happy with the lack of respect for the well being of the next renter.joshua W.
