Not all the location issues. Uhaul attempted to move the reservation to a different location 10-15 miles away and DID NOT notify us. The Rainbow Forest Automotive attendant was filling in for normal staff being off that day, Rainbow Forest was very kind and helpful and trying to fix what Uhaul had created by trying to move the reservation to a different location. Not a good experience for us or the staff at Rainbow Forest due to Uhaul making a reservation change and not communicating.Roger M.

Closed early about 1 hr called and they told us to just drop trailer next to hwy. we spent the next hour trying to confirm drop off as the U Haul representatives at the location would not come out of his home that was next door very disappointed considering how professional they were at pick upPhilip H.
Really sketch people. Tried to pull one over on us and charge us more and change our drop off locations. Also, our location for pick up was switched at the last minute. Really disappointed and dissatisfied with U-Haul overall. Will never use again and upset I was even charged for the run around and hassle.shane B.

Just a side note, the original drop off place on my rental contract was no longer in business when I got to my destination. I had to research this place myself. Rainbow Forest Automotive was very friendly and accommodating and I would highly recommend them. U-Haul should be up to date on their agents.George G.

They would not unhook takedowns for car to auto transport trailer citing insurance issues. I had to crawl under the trailer to unhook safety chains and tire tie downs. Interestingly, when I put the car on the trailer at my origin point, U-Haul staff insisted they hook-up the car to the trailer.RANDALL B.

Cab was very dirty. Bed was not clean. I cleaned the bed before return but not cab ,was filthy I did not touch and refuse to pay a cleaning fee for thatDAVID G.
We ended up being overcharged as the dealer indicated that we put at least 50 miles on the truck. We did not, as we traveled only from the Town of Troutville to Rainbow Forest. We put about 20 miles on the truck, at the most. My husband indicated that the miles indicated at the onset were incorrect, but we had no proof. From now on, we will take a photo of the mileage and check the mileage listed on the rental agreement before we leave the lot. Live and learn!David W.

The property is not well lit for nighttime drop offs and the spots for leaving the trailer are few and not obvious. U-Haul telephone Customer Service was very poor; either a borderline rude representative or no one every answered the phone after 15 minutes of waitingDaniel C.

This place almost turned out to be an awful experience. Not taking into account that my truck broke down the night before and I was switched to this location, then I get there and the gentlemen had rented my truck that morning to someone else because he did not bother to check for rentals that came in. I actually spoke directly with that location the night before and confirmed that they had my truck, etc. Then it was clear that was Uhaul traffic told him to give me the truck he was still hesitant to do so and Uhaul traffic told him to do so because I had the reservation first. It would have been one thing to mess up and apologize but to mess up, blame it on others and take no responsibility was just flat wrong. Not to mention the other folks that were standing behind me that had to leave because they had no vehicle.Megan I.
This is not against the pick up location- I reserved the 15 ft truck for a one way trip under the impression that it was at the location indicated. The follow up email stated that the truck was across town. Please try to improve the accuracy of what each location has available.CLAIRE F.

The location I requested was not available. They gave me a location 20 miles away that added an extra 40 miles in the wrong direction. The reserved dolly was not available at pick up. The truck was not swept out. There were no blankets on the truck. The Blue Ridge pick up location was not a very comfortable business to be in. Grundgy and dark. The guy that checked us out was not friendly and made us wait while he finished up in his garage. Even though he wasn't with a customer. He wasn't willing to help with the mileage concerns that the U haul company created. The drop off location in Petersburg was great and had great customer service skills. I had ordered the truck from a location just down the road from where I was moving to. I got sent to this one almost in bedford. I had to pay for an extra 11 miles one way! Not happy it cost me more due to the long drive to and from. NOT HAPPY!Sheryl D.

We had to wait 2 hours for someone to come help hook up our trailor. Otherwise, everything was fine. I thought someone should have been there to help!debbie C.
This was my second location as the 1st trailer did not have working lights. This one did not work either but I was told they would work after I drove for a while. No boxes, pads or other items available at these sites either. I had to go to a full service rental location for those items. Also, I went to these 3 U-Haul dealers and all 3 noted my 2" drop ball mount might be a low ride and I should flip it. So when I said I would right then and there, they said - no - don't bother it wasn't really necessary. Well, it turns out it was. An 8 hour drive turned into 11.5 hours because of the multiple times we had to stop, readjust, re-examine the scrapping noises. We finally stopped and begged for a jack from a stranger who helped us flip the mount with a loaded trailer. It took 15 minutes but it made a world of difference in the ride, the impact on my car and our stress levels. I don't know if all 3 agents were laughing at us or lazy but it was not appreciated. As far as the non-working lights we had to buy flashlights and tape them to the back of the trailer so people could see us on the road. Very disappointing, very dangerous & very stressful when it didn't have to be at all.Sharon M.
