Infuriating first experience with U-haul. I booked a reservation at a location a 50 minute drive from home because it was the only one with a 9' van, but when I arrived they switched me to a 10' truck which wouldn't fit in my parking spot. This was supposed to be mentioned during the confirmation but no changes were mentioned. So, I got a truck I didn't want and wasted an additional hour and a half driving to the suburbs. AND the rep didn't walk me through the contract or inform me to look over the truck for additional damage before I left.DANIEL M.

I signed up for the contactless check in, but the u-haul website was acting up. I called the 1-800 number to figure out how to get the keys, and the woman who I spoke with, while nice, was talking to me like I was a child who never used a phone before. After about 20 minutes, I was able to get the check in website to function. I was then told the information (DL, credit card info) was not enough proof I was me, so I had to submit additional info (passport, supply a second name on the reservation) which then needed to be approved before I coupe rent the truck. I was not doing that. Bullsh*t. After another 20 minutes of trying to get info for the contactless check in, I decided to go into the office and speak to someone, and got my truck keys in 5 minutes. I recommend renting in person at this, and probably everyone, u-Haul location. Contactless is unreliable, the customer service was degrading, and the whole process was time consuming. I was trying to save an interaction for Covid safety, but it became such a chore, I opted to risk.Michael M.

They didn't seem to know we were coming (despite having a reservation) and the owner was out running an errand when I arrived to pick up the truck. He would not allow his employee to assist us and made us wait 30 mins for him to return from his errand. He was then rather rude to us when he did show up. gas tank level was about 3 gallons less than indicated on the pickup form (form said 15/16ths, actual reading was 3/4). When I returned the vehicle I told the attendant about the discrepancy and showed him the receipt for the gas I had just purchased along with the mileage I put on the truck. He gave me a fair credit without argument.Thomas B.
I picked up via mobile app. The truck was clean and ready to go. Pretty simple process minus waiting in the cold for 20 minutes to "be verified" even after doing all of the check in the day before. The return was a little tricky because there was no indication on the app as to what to do with the key. I had to call UHaul to find a solution. Overall a great experience. This location was easy to access with ample parking available. Would rent here again.Melissa L.

I was assigned a drop off location nobody was at when I arrived. Then I was fully charged a second time for my truck. I accept the convenience fee for not doing online check in and the extra miles, but I'm not paying to rent the truck a full second time and for extra days because no one could check it on the weekend. Next time assign a location for drop off that will be manned at the time of drop off.Francis R.

There was no where to park the truck. YOUR SOFTWARE TO CHECK IN THE TRUCK IS FLAWED. IT WOULD NOT PROPERLY LOCATE THE TRUCK. IT DIRECTED ME TO SETTING TO PUT LOCATION FINDING FOR THE BROWSER I WAS USING ON. IT WAS ON AND STILL IT DID NOT WORK. IT WOULD NOT LET ME ENTER THE ADDRESS MANUALLY! I FINALLY HAD TO DOWN LOAD THE UHAUL APP TO MY PHONE FOR THE LOCATION PART TO WORK. THIS TOOK, 29 MINUTES TO CHECK IN MY TRUCK AT 11PM IN THE RAIN. RIDICULOUS. i AM PHONE AND APPLICATION ADEPT. The key return was a little confusing. There was a lockbox that had Uhaul logos on it but the app did not prompt me with a code for those lock boxes. They door happened to have a key slot, which is where I returned the key to.Justin H.
the app was totally useless as was the "start a conversation". when I asked a question it replied telling me to have a good trip!!! If Rich hadn't been at the location I don't know what I would have done as the app kept asking me for more picture of my license then said there was an issue with my cc when there wasn't.william H.

The location was changed. They changed me to a â€œlock boxâ€ where an online account needed set up without anyone speaking with me to see if that was okay. I went to the changed location I received via text. No one was there. I was on the phone for 55 minutes setting up an account so I could access the box (that I had not agreed to). This was on my son's college graduation day. I had made plans ahead of time so it could be taken care of, and meanwhile it kept me from our celebration. The lady on the phone was nice and patient, which she should be given credit.Kristen B.

Services are excellent here! This is my second time renting from UHaul in Norristown. Rich was pleasant personable and reasonable. He waited for me to pick up the truck rather than let me find it after hours. I would definitely rent from here again and recommend his services w/o hesitation.Jeanyne H.

Really bad first time experience, mileage was wrong and I got charge for it in my account. They credit me back the mileage, after being with 4 different customer service representatives, two of which hung up on me. The area manager only credit me 10$ for the "inconvenience", when I asked for a full refund. This was my first time experience with Uhaul, it was not pleasant, and I would not recommend it to anyone.Ghanim M.
