First the Van was NOT clean, it had dirt in the cargo area and broken glass all over the floor. Second the van had a Tire Service Light Warning on the entire time I had it. Third, I asked for furniture pads, and was charged for them, but THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED. Forth you charge me $0.99/mile when the 2 vans I rented at another location were $0.59 /mile, and were the MUCH better Ford Vans not these GMC pieces of crap. I'd like a credit for the equipment I didn't get but was charged for!CHARLES C.
The location was outstanding! Uhaul customer service via the phone was absolutely terrible. Between long wait times and not accommodating the fact that I had to drive to a location further away then my original booking with no credit for the extra miles I would incur the experience was horrible. The only saving grace for UHAUL was Mr. Rooney at the location, he listened to my complaints and did everything within his power to accommodate a customer who was clearly not pleased. I could not say the same for the customer service via the phone it was unhelpful and I wasted 1 1/2 hours before I finally was in the truck. I will not recommend UHAUL to anyone moving forward as they made a stressful moving day even more stressful.James M.

I waited for 2 hours in front of this place. I was not able to do the 24/7 rental that I ordered. The website was not giving me the option to pick up the rental. I logged in several times. There was no "dashboard " on the website when I logged in. So I was not able to get the keys to the van I reserved. I then called the uhaul customer service, which . I WAS ON HOLD FOR WELL OVER A HALF HOUR. I was as told to log off and then log back in. Then it finally worked. I was then told that it needed to be refreshed on her end. The delay caused me emmbassment, aswell as money. I choose24/7 rental service because I needed topick up items for a certain time and so was stupid.Barry L.

The was limited to no internet access so it was difficult using the mobile app. The key was not in the correct lock box and I had to work with the mobile app which didn't work. I had to call a local number but there was almost no cell service. The site should invest in a router to provide wifi access if there is no cell service.Dan S.

The pick-up location was closed when we arrived. No one told us we would be using a lock-box not who we should contact for access. Inside of truck hadn't been cleaned in months....very poor service. U-Haul should get rid of these satellite pick-up's / drop-off's as they are deteriorating the brand.Raymond C.

The owner of the establishment was very rude upon my return and not following Covid guidelines. He was not wearing a mask as he was talking to me. I was trying to complete the drop off via the mobile app and also sanitize the cabin and he begin to argue with me as I'm trying to upload the photos that are required and drove off in the U-Haul before I could finish the drop off because I was late and he had another client waiting for the U-Haul. He is very condescending and does not let the customer speak. He only speaks over the customer. Also, I reserved an appliance dolly and paid for it but my rental did not come with one. I will not be using this location again. The pickup was easy, I assume because I didn't have to interact with him but the return was very u professional.Dennis C.

Rooney Motors in Pawling NY is an excellent place to rent a Uhaul van or truck. The van I rented was brand new, was dream to drive (the brakes were amazing!) and Tim, the owner, is a really wonderful person and so helpful. This is now my go to place for Uhaul rentals - the best experience I have ever had! Tim, thanks so much!Colleen W.

The cell service is very poor at this location so it made doing the mobile pick-up/drop off difficult. Other than that, I have no complaints on the location. The back of the truck could have been cleaner. There was wood chips/bark and dirt in it. We cleaned it out in order to load our furniture in it.Elaine C.
Location only has very limited uhaul equipment selection from what I could see. This being said, and I still rate it high because of great personnel and very very helpful. Helped me when I was not able to get a hold of uhaul main line - which is a joke btw (you should send me a feedback request for that...)GABOR K.
When I rented truck I requested Saturday A after I saw the location and asked for a close place. Which was fine My issue when it was changed my reservation was changed to Friday afternoon pick up and drop off Friday night I specifically stated on the phone to the Newburgh office and I believe her name was Kelly that the truck was for Saturday and that I wanted to pick it up Friday night and need all day Saturday That did not happen!!! I had to move in the night to get the truck back in time which I did on my end It was disappointing that my reservation was messed upAttilio C.

The app experience was awful. Overly complicated. Had to upload a license multiple times. Was rudely dealt w/ by customer service. It was the worst rental experience I've had. Horrible customer service, humanless experience. Apps? Not the way of the future because I will never return to Uhaul again. I will deal with a location that has an individual, not an app. The gentleman that helped me at drop off was excellent-- this critique has nothing to do w/ Rooney Motors itself. The location was fine. Renting the vehicle / picking it up using an app and being treated poorly by telephone UHaul reps made the experience pitiful.Veronica M.

I was very disappointed regarding my pick up location. I originally reserved a truck 5 minutes from my home and the day before was told I had to pick it up at a different location 30 minutes (20 miles) from my home which wasted an hour of my planned day.Mario C.

Our original reservation was canceled because the truck we requested wasn't available and we were sent to another location. Your customer service promised us a $ 50 discount which we never received. Then they sent us back to the original location. Once again the original truck we requested was not available and we were given a much larger truck which we didn't need. There is no cell reception in this area so the mobile app is useless. After an hour of trying to drive around for reception we found the WiFi password inside the locked building. It's not easily visible. Someone who isn't great with technology would have a bigger problem than I did.Heather F.
