I had to drive 40 minutes away from home to get a trailer that the location 4 blocks from my house had. Also there were 5 other Uhauls within 10 minutes from my home but I got sent to Winsor and they didnt even have all the equipment i needed and i had to drive bach 40 more minutes to get a Dolly. My truck was not ready even though it was reserved for 8 am Sunday. I didnt receive a truck until 12 p.m.. Seats were dirty. Also, wifi at that location is not good when you have to use your device to checkin and out.MELVINCORNELIOUS W.

Why don't I get to review U-Haul? Location did ok. U-Haul stunk. I recommend everyone stay away! On line wasn't great, no customer service. Rude. Literally U-Haul could care less that their errors inconvenienced the customer and cost them more money! I will never use U-Haul again.Michael B.
Have trained people assisting customers. Be sure to explain to customers use of the vehicle, costs, etc. do there is no misunderstanding about the contract which most people do not have time to read when in the stress of moving.susan W.

We had a 2:30 pick up and the uhaul wasn't on location yet at 2:40. They also didn't have the utility dolly we had reserved. The employee called and the renter was only about 10 minutes away. Seems they were told to return by 3:30. The truck would need to be checked in so it put us a little behind. The employee was friendly and cooperative. It's a vape shop so expect employee and customers to be vaping. Two pool tables fill the shop and lots of vaping equipment and cigarettes available for purchase. There was a sweet dog walking around inside. My frustration was that the 9 foot van or 10 foot trucks weren't available anywhere in the Newport News area so we had to head way out to Windsor, VA to rent a 15 foot truck. That is a big truck on skinny country roads. Also added to our miles and put us over the allotted amount.June D.

Reserved car dolly was not available. I drove 60 miles round trip, out of my way to get one from another location. Reserved hand truck / furniture dolly was not available. 12 furniture blankets were not inside of the truck when I arrived at my move location so I had to return to the store (460 Vapor) to get them; another 20 mile round trip for me. When I got to the pick-up location "store" for my blankets they gave me a random stack, which turned out to be 9 total, not the 12 I reserved. The drop off location tried to charge me for the 3 "missing" blankets. I called 460 Vapor, the pick-up location to see if they could correct the account receipt for the blankets but the girl working the computer could not figure out how to do that. I called customer service whom in turn told me that I would be charged for the blankets but reimbursed a day later. 460 Vapor is a "head shop" that sells products that are not legally intended for use with marijuana. They also sell CBD oils and other assorted "smoking" items. I'm sure the staff are good people but perhaps they should lay off the pot while making U-Haul reservations and fulfilling U-Haul requirements for customers. Additionally my 20 foot truck smelled like the bathroom floor of a college frat party and after close examination of the receipt; revealed a hand written note about a hole in the top of the truck with a disclaimer "we cannot guarantee your items will not get wet". I am in South Carolina. I called reservations for my son in Virginia. They transferred me too this location. Jennifer was very nice over the phone. She went well beyond They Call of Duty to make sure that my accommodations work good for my son. She was unsure weather the 10 foot or the 15-foot had a pull out ramp. So she went out on the lot to check for me while on the phone. We decided to go with the 15-foot, because it had a pull out ramp for my son. She was very thorough and giving me the best rate available for this truck. I would rate her as an excellent representative. Thanks to both of you.William S.

No improvements needed. We had a situation where my husband was hospitalized while we were out of town and we had to extend our rental for two more days. We greatly appreciate that we were not charged for the extension under these circumstances. We would rent from U-Haul again in a heartbeat!!michael M.

The representative was extremely helpful, which is why I'm giving it a 3-star rating. The process to rent the equipment was ridiculous. Their system is unresponsive and difficult for the employees to manage. The poor rep had to make several calls and tried for more than an hour to rent the equipment out to us. I finally had to go online on my phone and make the reservation, even though I was right there in the office. The representative, Jennifer, was amazing, helpful, and hard-working. The location's system is dreadful. I recommend this location, but make your reservation online first! That seems to be the only way you'll get the equipment. the guy did not know how to work the computer program the truck was filthy both in the cab and in the back of the truck the reservation was wrong I had ordered a 10ft truck and they had a 15-ft truck then they tried to charge me $60 for the 15 ft truck which was wrong I had to get on the phone with somebody to get it fixed.connie S.
First, I ordered a truck in Suffolk and I received an email telling me that Ihave to pick up the truck somewhere else. As far as the cleanliness of the truck, I had to sweep out the back before loading it. The cab had a lot dry dirt on the floor even under the seats. I rental guy did walk around and check the outside of the truck and document ever issue. He could not tell me where I was to drop off the truck in Leesburg, the reservation system was not working properly.William B.
I filled out most of my information on line to expedite my check in time. When I arrived there was a young girl handling my check in and she did not know how to finish the contract, nor print the contract. She had to repeatedly call someone and my check in time was over 30 minutes long. Also, when a customer came in to purchase the vapor product, she stopped helping me and took care of that customer, instead of finishing with me.Rich H.
Get rid of the person working that shop! I rarely complain about service but that man wa$ so very rude. He did not make eye contact,he called me by last name only,was exasperated,made excuses that U Haul was somehow responsible for his SLOW printer. He did not take me to vehicle to inspect,did not go over contract at all,just told me to sign. I have used U Haul before so I knew what to expect. When all said and done he spoke maybe 10 words to me. By the way the gun on his belt does NOT put people at ease!!!! Will tell as many people as I can to STAY away from this store.Virginia G.

I waited 40 minutes to get my truck. The guy working there was just chatting away with him buddy in front of us and taking his sweet time. He wasn't in a hurry and never addressed our excruciatingly long wait time. It was an awful experience.Jack D.
This location sold many different products and business lines and did not have enough staff. The original guy helping me could not use the computer to process my U-haul order. Another guy finally arrived and helped me but the truck was not checked in from the last rental. Even though I pre-checked in online, it still took me over 30 minutes to get my rental and it's located inside a vapor lounge so the entire place is filled with smoke. Upon returning, there was only 1 employee and he did not have time to check me back in or make sure there was no damage to the truck. This left me uncertain that I could possibly get charged for something I did not do. Overall bad customer service, this place operates too many businesses with too little staff.Brice L.

I made an online reservation for another location. I received an email confirming my reservation at said spot. The day of pickup I tried 10 times to call location just to make sure everything was still ok. The phone kept hanging up on me. I called uhaul direct to see if there was another number to use but after waiting 13 minutes on hold I finally hung up. I signed into the uhaul account and my info pulled up. My rental was at another location 20 minutes away from original location. Thank God I checked this out before I left to pick up truck.There's an Xtra $16.00 (at least) of milage. The guy at the new location was very friendly. I'm just dissatisfied with how reservation was switched and not being able to get ahold of a human being.jennifer A.

The store owner went out of his way to get a truck when the truck I was to get was not going to be back in the area before my pickup time. The store owner called around and went out of his way to pick up another truck. He kept me informed the entire time and actually called me when he was in the truck and headed to his store. The UHaul truck was clean. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the store owner and his caring about me getting a truck for a move from Virginia Beach to Bowie, MD. I will always make UHaul my choice of rental trucks. Good job Manny and UHaul. I will definitely recommend UHaul to all my family and friends. Definitely a 5 Star operation!!Patricia T.
