I spent 30 min trying to open the lock but still did not work because the directions were incorrect. Then I spent another 40 min on hold trying to get someone to help me because there was nobody there at the location. Once someone did answer, they told me to hit the lock as hard as I could then tried to open it. That did not work, so I got a rock and hit it as hard as I could then it eventually worked. Over an hour later, I finally got in and got to my house where my movers have been waiting on me for over an hour. I would like a refund.peden F.

Worse possible experience. I could not get the reservation to load because I arrived to the self pickup "late" despite that there was still 10+ hours on my reservation. Terrible feature. I can't understand why you would do this. After 45 + minutes on hold, customer service got me through the process. I found birth control pills and black hair in the truck. What I did not find was the equipment I ordered. I had to borrow a friend's hand truck to complete my move. Unacceptable. I pulled the parking brake release for the first time and the bottom of the dash fell into my lap. The truck was very hard to start and nearly stalled out 3 times. I will never return to any Uhaul location for any service ever.Phillip M.

I had a mixed experience with the tow dolly. The location check-in I feel the ratchet operation, particularly the release, should have been easier to use. We had to call thewas easy. They put the dolly on our hitch, hooked it up, and the equipment operation was explained. Once we had the car on the dolly we had trouble operating the ratchets to secure the tire straps. At one point we discovered we needed to release the strap and reposition it, and that's what we had the most difficulty with. We had to call the rental location and ask for someone to come and assist, which they did, so I am grateful to them for that. Once we reached our destination, we struggled with the ratchet release again, but finally managed it. I feel like every aspect of the equipment should be tested periodically for ease of use, and when something wears out and becomes hard to operate, it should be replaced, so that the customer doesn't have this type of experience.victoria G.

We rented auto hauler behind 26 foot truck. The surge brakes on trailer were not working properly and did not help reduce speed when braking resulting in a few close calls. We were told that Uhaul has set up their trailers for emergency only braking. They need to change that for safety sake.John T.

Have room to actually park a uhaul truck. Lot was full of to be repaired vehicles with little to no room for drop off. Had a trailer as well that I was forced to leave kind of in the middle of the parking lot because of all the vehicles all over.Brandon S.
Absolutely poor location. Lot crammed full of repair service vehicles so no where and no way to drop off trailer in a good location. Was forced to leave it out in the middle of parking lot cause no way to back it anywhere and too heavy to move it. Going to be tough when I drop off truck later. I didn't receive my appliance dolly like reserved and the agent on the phone who extended my rental for 24hrs said she would refund it but it wasn't refunded. Instead I was charged for another day for it.Linda H.

Had to go to different drop off location because they said they didn't have room for the trailer. VERY INCONVENIENT! Then second location wanted me to put it in their lot in the back around other vehicles and obstacles. They gave me no paper work or proof of returning equipment. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL !!!! I would like some compensation for having to go else where to drop off then have to prove drop off. Received email from U-Haul stating it was due by a certain time and it had been but again drop off didn't check it in correctly!!! Very dissatisfied with drop off situation!! Was even approached. Y staff laughing and stating they came out to â€œparkâ€ the trailer because they had a bet I wouldn't be able to put it where they wanted it! But I was able. Mr R RobertsonRandall R.

What U-HAUL can do? They can inspect and fix their own broken equipment before handing it off to me so that I can fix U-HAUL'S problems. I drove 20 miles after picking up my rented and paid for tow dolly. Hooked up the vehicle to be towed, checked to see that all the lights worked, only to find that the right tow dolly light was hanging by the wiring about 15 inches from the fender mount, which had a 2" crack and additional holes from apparently previous and failed attempts to repair. After calling and speaking with someone at the rental location, asking if they wanted me to bring it by, they said that they did not have a replacement vehicle. Told them if they needed to see it as I did not want to be blamed for the damages, I would bring it by there. He asked if the damaged area had a circle sticker with an X on it and I said yes. He said not to worry as the damages were known. Since they had no replacement vehicle and didn't offer to repair, I said that I would just tape it all together and use as is -which I did, checking every 100 miles or so to be sure all was ok, re-doing tape as needed. Made my trip without incident and returned vehicle the next day. Don't why fixing that light properly and complete was such a problem as your locations have the tools to get the job done. I could have fixed it, fixed it right, and the X-stickers would have been gone long time ago. Sloppy work, non-followup to fix and inspection for safety before putting out on the road -even I know that's bad for business -and safety.phillip A.
Although I drop the truck off when the facility was closed, it was plenty of parking to leave the truck, however when I call the next morning to check on the truck to make sure that they had put it in the system that everything was okay they were not very helpful they said they would call me back and it's been 20 minutes already and I haven't heard from them yet, although the truck was good at call U-Haul customer service throughout the whole time to make sure everything was okay, however I wouldn't not use the mobile service for renting a U-Haul truck again I think I like the personal-touch better. Re reserved 60 moving blankets and a utility dolly online with our 26' truck. When we arrived to pick up our moving supplies and truck, we were told he had no blankets or dollys which left us in a huge disaster as movers were coming an hour later to pack our home to move. I rented the truck and associated equipment online. I also checked in online and took photos of my drivers license. When I got there, they started to re-ask me the questions I answered online. They had none of the equipment I rented online. The truck smelled terribly of sweat or pee with dog hairs all over it. The check engine light was on constantly. They also changed the drop off location I had selected online which caused a lot of trouble. I had to go to another location to try to get the equipment I had rented. They only had one utility dolly, so I was without the majority of equipment I needed for my move. Very very disappointed. I will be looking elsewhere the next time I need to rent a truck.Clifton Y.

Sarks employees were wonderful and very upstanding people. However the Uhaul location at 529 Wade Hampton Blvd is another story. When we did not pick up the U-Haul at the time we hoped to arrive, they decided to cancel our reservation with out a phone call or any contact. We suddenly found ourselves with out a truck. The people at Sarks were extremely helpful in helping us get a replacement truck and help us get on our way!Roger S.
Took quite a while, system was down, didn't actually receive in writing our receipt or how much fuel was required for return, nor did they have all of our requested equipment so we lost quite a bit of time having to drive to a different Uhaul location to get the proper paperwork and dolliesJohn Luke D.

I scheduled pickup at grove Rd was moved to wade Hampton then another location on wade Hampton, at which point the charges were messed up and the didn't have the utility dolly I had reserved. Had to go back to the other wade Hampton store to get the dolly. My paperwork was never corrected and when I received my receipt I still did not have any information on what they charged my debit card. After driving less than 2 miles, the trailer came off the hitch. The U-Haul representative who hooked up the trailer to my hitch failed to secure the trailer properly. At the time I was traveling less than 20 mph when the trailer came off the hitch. I am so thankful that I was not on a freeway. Nor did they have a way for me to hook the trailer lights up. I had to go to Wal-Mart and purchase a trailer wiring harness.Emmitt W.

We were told we could pick up on on Labor Day which I specifically asked if they would be open and was told yes. When we arrived. The place was closed till Tuesday morning when we wanted to be loaded and on road. Had contact on Saturday telling us it would be available and was not.
