I was told that there were no available vehicle until Monday, although the website showed vehicles available for rental. I had to do an online reservation on my phone before they would admit that there were available vehicles. This is unacceptable and I will look other places for my moving needs in the future.

The assistant manager at this location was by far one of the most rude people in customer service that I have ever dealt with. I was polite, respectful, and patient, while I was talked down to, disrespected, cutoff, etc. I tried explaining my communication with Uhaul and with this office, and the man working refused to listen to a word I said or express any care for the customer. He continued to argue with me and ask me if I could take the vehicle or leave. I did not raise my voice, I did not belittle the assistant manager, and I did not give him any reason to treat me the way he did. As I was entering the vehicle I began recording video on my phone because I was concerned that he would become more disrespectful or even become aggressive toward me. I would love to contact the owner of this facility and explain my recent experience. No one should ever be treated so terribly for no reason. I (obviously) will not be going back to this location again. I am a Business Manager for a nearby apartment community, and after I learned of the proximity, I was excited to share with our residents moving in and out- now I will absolutely not recommend this location to anyone. Furthermore, another man working came into the office toward the end of our conversation and just observed the behavior of this other employee, without any regard for the way I was being talked to. I would have immediately walked out and went somewhere else if I was not on a tight schedule to move my belongings. I had a much more positive experience returning the vehicle to a different representative this morning.

The UHaul website crashed while I was checking in. Therefore, I was unable to leave the office to start my move for 45 minutes. The office manager comped the truck and said I could keep the vehicle 2 hours longer for the inconvenience. I was more than happy with his assistance. However, at 1 o'clock, the time that I was originally intended to bring the truck back, a very rude employee called me stating I was late and needed the truck back now. I explained what had happened in the morning. He did not listen, yelled at me, and stated that I needed to stop unloading and return the vehicle immediately. I made arrangements and brought the truck back. However, when I arrived at the store, he did not greet me, did not speak unless I asked a question, and has yet to reach out regarding this whole ordeal. Do not trust this place or their communication skills.

We had a terrible experience with our rental from this location. To start with...there was no parking availability at this location...which forced us to find parking on the street. I indicated to the U-Haul representative where I was parking while I had the rental to which he said was okay. Upon returning the rental, we found our car had been towed. Between the towing fee, ticket, and cab fare....we ended up paying $270 total. It was disappointing that your company doesn't provide parking or that your employee didn't warn us about the towing situation. It was a very bad experience and we will not be back.

When I arrived, I expected to be able to leave my car because this has been the typical experience at every UHaul facility I've ever rented from. In fact, I'd moved using a UHaul from this same facility a few years prior and was able to leave my car in their lot. Not only did they tell me this would not be an option, but acted incredulous when I told them it had been an option previously and asked why it wasn't one now. When I asked where I was supposed to park, the customer service rep seemed annoyed, shrugged, and said to find city parking. I replied, "I have to pay another 20-30$ to park my car in a city lot?" This seemed entirely absurd given that the facility had it's own small lot with not a single car parked in it. He did not offer any suggestions for where to go aside from the vague "Use a Diamond parking lot." His attitude bordered on rude. It was subtle enough that I don't feel like I could call him a jerk but it was not polite by any stretch. I left the facility to look for a place to park absolutely fuming, not necessarily from this policy, but from my interactions with the customer service agent regarding it. It felt like this guy found my request off-putting and the whole thing entitled. As it turns out, it only took me a moment to find parking in a lot that only costs $10 on the weekends, which I still don't think I should've had to pay but was a lot better than $30. This whole situation could've been de-escalated easily had the customer service agent known about that lot, apologized, pointed me to it, and been polite in our interactions. Because of this, I would rate my UHaul experience as awful. I am still unhappy about it even considering it days later. The customer service agent also failed to tell me where to park the UHaul when I returned it after hours, so that was a fun adventure. The gate to the area we got the UHaul from that morning was closed so we had to figure out where/if we could parallel park it. All of this was highly avoidable if UHaul had just given us the information ahead of time that I would not be able to park at this facility to pick up the UHaul. I would've chosen an alternate location. As is, it was a nightmare on a move that already wasn't fun. Please do something to correct this so that other people renting from this facility don't have the same poor experience.

not much! It was a good/clear explanation of terms and expectations, and generally pleasant interaction. Killer air conditioning in their building. The vehicle itself is exactly what you are paying for- clean, working, but oh, so hard to drive when you aren't used to it.

The location of the location was the problem. It was hell to get the van back with all the construction going on around it. I imagine in normal times in normal traffic it would be ok. The van and the staff were fine.

it is located in a very convenient location but difficult for the uninitiated to leave in the truck as well as return the truck. i had a motorcycle parked next to the spot when i returned the truck and it was daunting to get into the small space

I am confused by your survey. Are you asking only about the physical location of the pick up, or are you asking about the general quality of the place where I picked it up? The location itself was kinda frustrating because there was construction going on all around and it was a fairly busy area. The people who were working at the desk were both very friendly though. Overall the experience of renting was more satisfying than the experience of taking this survey.

After my experience today I would not recommend u haul to anyone. After booking the u haul a week in advance, I called to ask about extra charges if the truck cannot returned in the allotted time. I was told by a customer service representative that I would only receive another daily rate charge, around 40 dollars, so I went to u haul online and changed my reservation from 7 hrs to 24, just to be safe. Upon picking up the u haul I found the reservation was not changed and if I didn't have the u haul back by 4 pm I would get fined up to $100.00. I was forced to find other means to move today, not an easy feat on memorial day weekend. I was also charged for 2 gallons of gas, when I drove no more than 3 miles... i am very disappointed in u haul. Budget was able to accommodate me day of, and for much cheaper.

My girlfriend and I arrived for our appointment to pick up a cargo van right on time. When I approached the desk to walk in check in, Leo the attendant at the front desk, immediately snapped at us, with no welcome, and said "I'm checking in vans, you'll need to please wait over there." The rest of the interactions with Leo were unpleasant. He was short with both of us, I had multiple questions I had intended to ask, but as soon as I finished the first question I knew I didn't want to try to ask anymore. I asked "Is there any possibility to extend the time of my rental?" And without a breath and visibly annoyed he snapped back "No, there's people right after you it's not possible." Now, I've worked in customer service for a matter of years and I know that when a customer asks for something that I know is obviously not possible, I still attempt to try to assure them that the service they ARE receiving will be exemplary, or at least SUFFIECIENT to suit their needs; or similarly I attempt to help by offering another service, at another time-- anything to make them feel cared for and covered for any other needs of which they may come back and give us their business. I knew immediately I would never come back here for another move, and would discourage the large group of friends I have that are also about to make moves to use this UHAUL location. A move can be a stressful time for many people, especially such a dense city where the time windows between move out and move in can only be a matter of hours for some residences. Add in the time limit of a van rental and a customer, like myself has got an extremely stressful day ahead of them. The LAST thing I want is to deal with unbelievably rude associate, who finds it too taxing to provide average customer service to a new client. The remainder of this check in followed a similar manner. Rushed me through an initial inspection of the previous damages to the van. Rushed me through signatures. And sent me off. I came back right on time to return the van, and was relieved to never have to come back to this business again. UHAUL, if you want to increase your business at this location, especially during such a huge boom of out of state transplants moving to SLU, Capitol Hill, Belltown, you need to do something about your customer service associates. This was absolutely awful.
