I would never recommend U-Haul. I called and reserved a trailer they said I would be able to use for what I needed to haul a UTV I asked for a car trailer but they gave me a box trailer I drove a total of 690 miles was unable to use the trailer call customer service they would not exchange for a proper trailer so I came home without my UTV I had to pay for it and then make the trip again with a different trailer U-Haul is wrong for what they did to me then they charged me for the trailer I was unable to use very very very poor customer service. Brad was super nice and helpful. The other lady was rude. The uhaul truck stunk like a sweaty person sat in there for a few days with all of the windows up and ran the heater in the summer. It was puke worthy stench. Truck on the outside was filthy. Windshield was covered with dead bugs! Transmission for truck was failing. Truck was having difficulty shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third.Shivanjili S.

The van was filthy. The fuel level was very low. Thankfully I wasnt going far this time. Renting a piece of equipment youd expect it to be fueled and clean especially given the times we are living in.James G.

Having the truck I reserved would be a great start. I needed a truck with a ramp and previous renter did not return it. Had to use a van. Not happy about that... no discount just take this van or don't rent from us.Michael E.

When I arrived it took about 45 mins to leave even with the online check in. I was given the wrong truck at first, and when the clerk tried to give me the info for the truck I was assigned she could not locate the keys, then had no info on the code for the lock, keeping my help waiting. I had to spend an extra $20 on mileage because my pickup location was force changed to another location 20 miles (round trip) farther than my original requested location. The equipment that I reserved wasn't in the truck at pickup. Specifically, I requested 12 pads and 1 appliance dolly and only 6 pads were included. I called customer service to take off the charges for the dolly and furniture pads, and she did, but then told me I had to go to another location to pick up the items that were not included, which I didn't do because it was cutting into my reservation time. I was also told that I could drop off the truck at the location nearest my house, to save on mileage costs but when I talked to the nearest location, they said I had to return it to the pickup location after all. I understand that mistakes are made and some situations, like the pickup location being changed due to lack of availability, are out of Uhaul's control, but it's not right to cause the customer to incur additional costs and take time out of their reserved time (which we pay for) to correct them.Nicholas N.

Everything was great. Check in and return were pretty easy. I would suggest that there should always the option to check in with a person. While I did not have to many issues with the online checkin process, some people who are not necessarily tech savvy may need some help.Kelley H.
The site only had self service available to pick up truck but it was in an area with extremely poor cell service and did not have wifi capabilities. It made the self service process take a very LONG time. It would have been nice to have wifi or at least to do in person check in/out.virginia I.

When lights and break lights were checked by provider he told me they were good. After getting on our trip to Wyoming my husband who stopped for gas and then caught up with us said my blinkers were opposite. Don't appreciate being told I was good to go and then find out after getting into Neveda the lights were wrong.Melanie S.

I was overcharged for mileage when I returned the truck. Due to Covid the pickup process is done online it was very confusing I unfortunately did not take a picture of the miles I have rented before but when I picked up I dealt with an actual person. I did call customer service and open a case but who knows if anything will be done to solve my issue. For the meantime I was over charged around $45. If I don't get this issue resolved I will never rent again and will make sure everyone I know aware of this I am even thinking of calling Channel 3 call Curtis I have seen him get issues resolved for other people.Sonia M.

It would be mighty helpful if the rental initiation could be fully established and completed via a desk top or laptop computer. It took me and my wife over two hours to finalize our truck rental via our smart phones while we were parked behind our reserved truck.Daniel F.

Reserved a 15' truck one week in advance and was provided a â€œpreferred pick up locationâ€. I scheduled the moving help accordingly. Day of move, no 15' available local. Forced to do two round trips of 114 miles, In a 10' truck that was available locally, then charged for overage in miles. The movers stated that a 15' truck would have worked perfectly. Instead as a partially disabled veteran, my wife and I had to make an additional trip and final load. Uhaul has been unresponsive to my complaint thus far. They offered a 15' truck an hour and a half round trip away from my move. When I asked about who is going to pay for the movers standing around while I go get the truck AND the additional time to load? They responded, the movers are separate, that's on you! Absolute worst move EVER and unbelievably poor customer service!!!! I was a frequent return Uhaul customer, after this experience, I will avoid using them if at all possible. No ownership of their failure to have the truck available locally as promised. Only boasting about providing the promised vehicle one and a half hours away, while washing their hands of the extra moving costs that would result. I'll make effort to share this story with friends, family and business associates. EXTREMELY poor handling of this transaction.William B.

The only issue we had was that we were charged for more miles than we actually drove. Not sure how we can prove that because we weren't given the suggestion to take a pic of the odometer and we have to go off what the agent wrote down but we most definitely go as many miles as were recorded.Patrick O.

The representative needs to correct updates asap and not ignore it. Ex: the gas from uhaul was not correct and representative was informed about it and chosed not to fix paper work and when we returned uhaul they tried charging me to put gas the way it was listed on the paperwork when the worker varified the day before that it was incorrect.
