I told the guy that I wanted to drop off in Columbia, he told me that was fine. Ended up being that he messed up my contact and I spent an hour on the phone getting transfer to 5 different people just to be told that I would be getting charged double and a half what my contact said and that I had no choice but to drop it back to the original location unless I wanted to the wrong location fee. By far the worst experience renting equipment.PETER D.

The location is a small country store - the staff all seemed to have difficulty hearing, or making note of our answered (two of tried to return this truck) - the staff was pleasant, just very slow. The store they operate out of is less than inviting, but quaint. The staff warmed up to use eventually, and apparently they do a Down Home Cook Out on Saturday'sMike R.

I'm not happy at all with my experience with pick up. Not only did y'all change my pick up location that was an hour round trip drive to get but the truck was gross and loaded in pollen on the inside the bed of the truck had some sticky stuff in it and I had to sweep it out to use. The car trailer was in a field that I had to drive the truck in to pick up with weeds and grass knee high. No one at the location to help with any of it because the guy that was took 45 mins to rent me the truck and trail is handicap in a wheelchair. I tried to get my reservation back to the location 10 mins from me and was rudely told NO by customer service. I rent from you guys numerous times in the last year and that will definitely be my last time. The amount of unprofessional behavior was ridiculous.JEREMY L.

The guy who helped us was very friendly but by him being wheelchair bond I had to walk back and forth behind the counter to get papers that needed to be signed and the paper needed at the time of check in. I didn't have a problem doing it but after working all day and just wanted to go and pick the truck and pack and move. The overall process took about 40 minutes to complete.Tasha P.
The gentleman who operates the store is very friendly, but not very computer literate. His computer always has problems, he had to call a friend to have him help with the rental and it was still done incorrectly. I set up the rental using the U Haul phone number, Then I used the website to pre-check in and set up everything. It should have been a quick Trailer pickup and on the road. After 45 minutes I was still there trying to explain to the man that his printer was out of ink and that he was setting up my info under someone elses rental. After 1 hour, He said that he had everything taken care of and we hooked up the trailer, with no help, check all the lights and chains and we left for our trip. The next day we can to do the drop off. I thought it would be a quick process too...Not a chance! I showed up with a clean trailer, parked it and dropped it and went to the off to close everything out... He scanned my credit card twice and told me it didn't work and then I noticed that he was under someone else's reservation. After he found my reservation, he swiped my card again and it still wouldn't work. he couldn't figure out what was wrong so he called his friend for help and I immediately called UHAUL. The woman I spoke with helped to calm my nerves because at this point we had been here for 45 minutes waiting on this guy to figure out the problem. The U haul service rep that I spoke to pulled up my records only to find out that he never completed the check out of the trailer to me and that why he couldn't check it back in. He basically gave me a free trailer for the day without any paper trail. I am shocked and angry by now, but the uhaul rep talks me thru what I have to tell the guy to do on the computer to fix the problem. He finally figures out how to check the trailer out to me and them he checks it back in and closes it out., only to find out he set it for the wrong dates and has to do it all again!!! We finally had our confirmation via the Uhaul app and I checked my bank app to make sure that I was only charged once for the four times he scanned my card. I said Thank you and left. We were there for 1 hour and 10 mins for the pick up reservation and 1 hour and 40 mins to drop off. I'm not sure who to blame for my wasted time. He said it was your system that messed up, your rep said it was the guys fault...Either way, I am not very happy with the experience. Unfortunately, This is one of the only places that was open on a Sunday to rent a Uhaul in my local area so it was convenient, but I will never use this facility to rent from again. You, Uhaul, wasted close to 3 hours of my travelling time due to incompetence, lack of training and out dated and slow computer equipment at this facility. I hope you can use this review to help fix some of the problems I encountered so other people won't get the same quality of service that I did. Thank YouRandy R.

I don't even care about how clean a moving truck should be. What I care about is the over charge of 500 dollars. They said I went 1100 miles when I didn't even do 200 miles. Now they said it takes 3 days for a manager to call me back to reimburse me. wtf??????george M.

This is a very rural area...the address said Manning SC ...this was not in Manning...it was in the middle of nowhere...I am sure the older gentleman who rented it to me needs the income so I don't wish for anything I say to change that...he was very nice ...slow to complete the paperwork...the office is a dump...But I found the place...got my truck...and the trip was uneventful..the return to 1st Ave N Birmingham Al was easy ..fast..very polite and helpful..great clean office...but don't take the business from the Silver SC location...just change the address to the correct location so you are not thinking it is in town when it is out in the country...thanksSHERRY N.

1. In preparation for 21 May pickup around the corner in Santee, S.C., I had originally scheduled a 10 ft truck, but changed to a 15 I had changed to a 15 13 May ft and added a dolly to the Â½ dozen furniture pads I had ordered. Pick up 21 May, 9:30 AM. Spoke with Brianna (sp?) Reservation 83398249. Pick up spot Santee, S.C. Apparently she entered all the correct info into your system because the print out she emailed had everything correct. 2. At around 8:30 PM the evening before pick up, I received a call from your rep in Summerton, S.C. I couldn't understand him very well, but thought he said he was in Summerton and would have the truck in Santee the next morning. 3. Received a call from Danielle (HQ?) the morning of 21 May saying I could not pick the truck up in Santee at 9:30, but would have to wait until @1 pm. I called the man in Summerton who said I could pick the truck up there. 4. Drove to Summerton pick up point. Pretty dismal facility. It took around a half-hour to get the paperwork completed. 5. Despite all my precautions about assuring things were ordered in plenty of time before 21 May: THERE WERE NO PADS. THERE WAS NO DOLLY. HE TRIED TO GIVE ME A 10 FT TRUCK. Tell me, why bother with registration. I could have done as well driving to the pick up spot the same day. 6. After another 20 minutes and a call to a ?district manager?, the rep finally gave me a larger truck. 7. I had to sweep the truck out once I got it home. 8. My wife and I put the heavy items on sheets and dragged them to the truck and up the ramp. Luckily my brother had a dolly I used once we got to PA. What a disappointment.garland L.

Over the past 10 years I used U-Haul at least 5 different times with moving from South Carolina to New York in 2007. Then from NY to SC in 2013 and renting two 26' trucks to move my belongings not once but twice. Recently I rented a 20' truck from Sunny's in Silver SC. By far my best experience with a U-Haul dealer. Please ensure the owner is notified of how satisfied I was with my overall experience. I plan to use this U-Haul dealer soon with my upcoming move.Chad S.

Sunnys way out in Silver is where I had to pick truck up and 4 hours later than I was told the truck would be there. I needed the truck in Sumter to pack up and go to Florence on a one way truck. Well the gentleman is very very slow and hard to understand him when he talks. Computer skills are really bad in knowing how and what to do. Had to call District person after 1 hour of trying to get truck checked in on the computer. He took several phone calls while I was waiting for him to complete the process. Agent was not knowledgeable enough to apply military discount nor was he able to assist in connecting the trailer to the truck. After completing all preregistration online, it still took about 45 minutes to get the trailer. No other customers were there for assistance.Patricia M.
technology was terrible, attendant was slow and less than knowledgable. the amount online was not the amount charged when I got there. I still have no idea why I was charged 222.00 when the per day amount was 39.99 a day, granted I know that insurance fees etc are going to be included, I couldn't have been charged for mileage since the distance from the move location to end location, including the drop off point for the truck was well within the mileage allotment that I was given. the service that I received in columbia was far superior and I would never rent any U-haul item from this place EVER again.RAY M.

I reserved the unit and when I went to pick it up he had promised it to someone else (he was not aware of the reservation). I was told that since I was using credit card to pay that a deposit was not necessary even though it showed on contract. When I turned it in I discoved that I had been charged $45.00 for Safe Tow. When i contacted the pick up agent I was told that he meant to suggest it to me but failed and that it was out of his hands and he could not reverse it. I plan to contact U-haul customer service.Scott M.

the business needs the uhaul license removed!! reasons: was renting 6 by 12 trailer that took over 1 hour, owner asks for name/ phone numbers/drivers license ect. "10 times" this was unreal.i mean me as well as other are and have moving to get done.instead you spend alot of time renting!! I have rented at other locations and did not have this problem! And my boxes that was set close to back door got wet.:not happy" with that! it rained while we was in route.so my guess would be seal on door is bad.I really feel like I should get somewhat of a REFUND!!! As for what can you do to improve for next customer close this business. I do not wish my experence on no one.Had to get trailer on own,trailer wasnt checked before we left.had to hook it up myself.rented for local, I will never nor will I tell anyone to rent from this place .JERRY W.
Fire this location. Just go there and check it out, you will agree. Verr, VERY poor representative of your company. This was one of the worst interactions I have EVER had with ANY company. I asked for a response from yoru customer service, I spent hours on the phone and was ultimately dismissed with a promise that a regional customer service representative would be calling me within 3 to 5 business days. That was weeks ago... I will BUY a trailer before I ever rent from U-Haul again!KNUTE H.
The location was out of the way and not easy to locate. The location was also very cluttered and dirty. It was very difficult to understand the store clerk's words/speech and I did not feel that he was able to process my rental return because he appeared to be very disorganized and distracted due to telephone calls and other customers.BERNARD C.

the rental site was run by a guy who was 90 year old and disabled. He didn't know how to run a computer. He gave me a sheet off a printer that had an expired printer ribbon- You couldnt read the sheet! I didn't know where to take the truck back to! And it took a long time. Then the truck had a crack in the windshield that I didn't se until I pulled out on to the road with. They said it was ok. I just neer said anything the whole time. Then I got over charged for 2 extra days! I didn't know what time to return the truck and thought it was the reservation time of 2 pm. But it was 12 43 pm and I got charged 40 bucks because I returned it at 2 pm. Screw you. I get screwed each time I use Uhaul. Then I called the road sie number to find out when and where to drop the truck off. She wouldn't tell me, then gave me a number that was closed! God!
