Terrible customer service! Got charged for gas when I left the van with more than I got, got charged some other thing with even being notified! I had to just ssee it In my statement. Oh and the customer service, once I was done with the rental I had to wait 3 hours on the phone because once you are charged they don’t actually care about the service. Do not recommend this or any U-Haul... try budget ;)

While the equipment and pickup was fine, I honestly had a terrible moving experience and would like to speak to a customer service representative about this. When I went to my original location at 1610 Bushwick Ave, the truck I reserved was not there. The person who had the truck apparently hadn’t returned it, but I have an email from Uhaul saying it was a guaranteed pickup. I scheduled my moving plans around this time, but since the truck was not there, I was re-booked to a location on the other side of Brooklyn. I had to take a $60 cab ride an hour across the city, and then drive the truck back across Brooklyn. Because of this, my movers reneged on our agreement, and I was left stranded loading my truck. It was the end of my lease date, so I had to get out. Instead of being done around 5 PM as planned, I was not done until 10 PM, and my roommate and I were left stranded with no help. We had to carry a 200+ lb pull-out couch down four flights of stairs, which honestly was very dangerous. In addition, because I left so late, I had to get a hotel room. I had a 6 hour drive from Brooklyn to New Hampshire, and it was dangerous for me to drive from 10 PM - 4 AM after already being exhausted from the move. If my truck was at the correct location as promised, I don’t think any of this would have happened. I firmly believe Uhaul should reimburse me for my cab fare, hotel room, and at least a partial discount from the truck rental because of how impactful it was to not have a truck at the right time. I would like a customer service representative to reach out to me via phone or email ASAP to discuss what Uhaul can do for me here.

The gentleman working at this facility actually didn't speak English and he was unable to help us dispose of the broken furniture that resulted because our prior rental did not follow through on the furniture pads we ordered a month in advance. Hopefully the drop off went ok because I'm not 100% what happened.

The day I picked up, 9th Street was flooded. Not U-haul's fault, but it made pickup more complicated, as I had to walk a round the block and balance on beams to get by the water to the entrance... The locale itself was fine. No one mentioned you need a usb connector to the cigarette lighter to use navigation on your smart phone, but htey sell the usb connectors for 7 dollars... EZ pass was another thing, none in the car, you have to bring your own. Or drive through the unmanned EZ pass stations, which generates a bill to U-haul, which they then take from your credit card...

My key issue wasn't with this location... my main complaint was that I went to the Uhaul location on 4th Av, close by in Brooklyn, as that is where my ORIGINAL booking was. When arriving there they said couldn't find my reservation. They said that my booking "must be with the other location on 9th st" - i.e. I am the idiot who came to the wrong place. When I get to the 9th st location they were nicely surprised because they could find the reservation but I was, as I knew already, reserved at the 4th av location. It was thus a waste of my time travelling from one place to another. Unsurprisingly nobody at Uhaul makes an effort to compensate this waste of time.

I would not recommend anyone to pick up from that Brooklyn location and that is because of the difficulty of getting there because of the construction detours, a real hassle...

Extremely insensitive to me and my families recently passing of a family member during our moving process, was told by the owner " that I was not a good person, and that I was unfair to other customers". After the death of my family member, in which I told him I was doing what I could in this trying time to get the truck back to the u haul lot. They never have any furniture Dolly's or regular hand trucks available for their customers. Never using this place again. Right to yelp for negative feedback!!

First vehicle they gave me had a flat tire and the manager had to get another vehicle to replace it and that one had low oil pressure which beeped repeatedly the whole time I was driving and it also had the check engine light on. On top of that the customer service was horrible & I was overcharged for bringing my rental back late. Instead of a late fee my bill went from an estimated $93 to a whopping $419. Something isn’t right with this location and I will not be using it again, I feel like I’m being scammed!

I’m really disappointed that I was charged extra fees for gas when I was sitting in traffic in front of the uhaul location because of massive roadwork. I find this very unfair.

I had requested a dolly rental when reserving but the pickup place didn’t have one available. This was a pretty crucial piece of equipment I was relying on for moving heavy stuff, so I was directed to try and rent from another U-Haul. I didn’t do that because it would’ve taken too much time out of my moving schedule. Please make sure you have all of the available rental equipment!

My only complaint with U-haul in general is that you do not get a full tank of gas upon getting the truck/van so refilling is always a challenge and Uhaul always get more gas than they gave.

There was no place to park your vehicle and the manager wasn’t very helpful when we explained we weren’t familiar with area. This wasted valuable time since the location was far away from where we needed to move. This location is in a very industrial desolate area.

It's a small location but my suggestion is to have more accessories available to rent. I wanted to rent a few dollies and they did not have any. Other than that it was an easy process and the employee who assisted me was helpful and friendly.
